4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars 2,205 ratings

A blind date and a case of mistaken identity just might lead to love...

After a long series of stinkers, when a respectful match from an online dating site asks to meet Avery Cahill in real life, she agrees. Invoking her favorite romantic comedy, they arrange to meet in a local coffee shop with a flower and a book.

Under a serious deadline to finish a group project for his MBA--solo--the only thing Dillon Lange wants is peace and quiet. When a beautiful stranger sits down in his booth at the coffee shop, he knows he ought to say something about not being who she thinks he is, but he can't resist her smile or her engaging conversation.

How long can he keep up the charade? And what will happen when her real date shows up?

    So sweet! A quick read.

A stand alone read with a HEA. This story was short and sweet. I liked it and found it entertaining and leaves you with a smile on your face!! The characters were likable and you are rooting for them.

The heroine makes a blind date with an online guy. He didn't post a picture so she does not know what he looks like but he is a grad student and they seem to hit it off chatting. They agree to meet at a local coffee house, she will be carrying a book with a flower - Meg Ryan in You've Got mail!!

The hero is at the same coffee house working overtime to complete an assignment for one of his grad classes. The barista thinks he is the blind date so he sends our girl up to meet him. He is not the blind date but he is instantly attracted and he likes her so he doesn't want to tell her she made a mistake. They hit it off. Then the real date shows up. Embarrassed and somewhat put out the heroine leaves with the other guy. They did not hit it off.

She does not know the first guys name or where he lives so she had no way to track him down if she wanted to. Then she gets a vase of flowers at work asking her to meet him at a restaurant in town and there is no signature on the card. She knows it is him but she is unsure as to whether she should meet him or not.

This was a very short story but it was cute and I did like it. I would recommend it. It was a fun read.

I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less.

I listened to the audiobook. It was ok. At the end, the narrator mentioned the book To Get Me To You. I thought that was going to be a continuation of Dillon and Avery's story, but it is not. Maybe the4e is a follow up story and I haven't found it yet.

Not sure what the point was for this story as it was only 48 minutes long. The end left me feeling like, "That's it?". I feel like I need an explanation for why I should read this.

Unless it's free and you just want to pass the time, I would pass. It was a cute scene or two. That's it.

When Avery Cahill shows up to a blind date arrange through a dating platform, she assumes the guy studying in the coffee shop is the fella she’s supposed to meet. Dillon Lange instantly feels the chemistry and isn’t about to tell her he isn’t her date. They enjoy each other’s company, but what will happen when Avery discovers he isn’t the man she’s supposed to be with?

This was a fun, quick read. It draws you in and has you rooting for this couple. Dillon comes across as a great guy. I’d love to see more of this pairing.

I enjoyed this short story. It was perfect for reading at a busy time of year.

Adorable meet-cute short story (Nolan calls it a novelette in the intro) that kicks off the Wishful series. At 45 minutes, this really is just a short and sweet intro to the Wishful Romance series. I loved the accidental circumstances that brought Dillon & Avery together as well as their witty banter.

I do hope that I'll see more of them as the series continues.

Also, what *is* the recipe for the Zombie Killer coffee? I think I need that in my life.

Amy McFadden is fantastic as always. I appreciate her ability to give all the characters their own unique voices and keep the southern accents in tact without being overdone.

Cute short story!! I definitely enjoyed this book and actually wished it was longer. I wanted to continue reading about Avery and Dillon!
Dillon is a grad student with an impossible deadline for his macroeconomics midterm because of his partners emergency illness. His prof refuses to extend the deadline even though his poor partner is in the hospital needing emergency surgery. There’s no way he can work on it at home and the local coffee shop is filled to the brim.
Travelling to a small town he remembered from a drive he took, he sets himself up at the local coffee house.
Avery, a local, has set up a date with someone she was matched up with on a dating site at the same coffee house. One problem, she has no idea what the guy looks like because he claimed to be camera shy. When she gets to there, the barista sends her upstairs where she sees Dillon and assumes he’s her date.
I’m not telling you any more about this story, but I highly recommend this story if you’re looking for a quick, cute read. The story flows and for the amount of pages, the characters are fleshed out and not one dimensional. There’s a lot of information packed in and you’re not disappointed.

I love reading Kait Nolan’s books. She puts so much into her stories. This was a wonderful story. I loved the blind coffee date mix up, so cute. I love the coffee shop, so quaint and the quirky people are just perfect. This was a wonderful story, worth reading again and again

    3 stars

I'm actually giving this book 3 stars because I don't know what to make of it. If this book has a continuing journey of Avery and Dillon then this book was just OK. It didn't really spiked my interest to a point the blurb got me wanting to read this book the book itself did not.

To me this book was not finished and quite frankly it was bland.

    Happy Sexy reading

This was just what the series promised: cute. A shorter story (though not a short story), this will be a nice read for a couple of hours, one lazy afternoon or evening.
When Avery meets Dillon, she thinks he is her online date, and though Dillon soon realises what's going on, he doesn't correct her. When the real date turns up, Avery soon realises that there were more sparks between Dillon and her...
Well written, short enough to fill an afternoon, with likeable protagonists - what can a reader want more. Love this little series.

    This was an interesting read.

it was well written and showed real promise. I liked the characters and the plot. It showed great capable writing to show what could come of mistaken identity.

My only complaint was that it was too short.
