Review

I really enjoyed The Progenitor ... It is a world of harmony, of healing plants, of wise civilisations. Even during the most breakneck periods in the story, something about the world that Wright has created seemed to spread a balm over everything.David - Read Freely book review

Sara Wright is the author of the series The Progenitor Chronicles, an enchanting fantasy through space and time. She lives in a faraway galaxy with her best friend’s imagination and creativity, where she eats a steady diet of fantasy and science fiction with romance for dessert.

When she was young, she met her friend, Imagination, in the form of books read to her by her mother. It fueled the visions she would later turn into her stories. Creativity was Sara’s dance partner for many years, but has now been augmented to create books for the populations of Earth.

Earth is her favorite planet to vacation with her husband and their fur babies. When she isn’t traveling to faraway places or writing, she loves to cycle, hike, and sing to her favorite music.

Crown Princess Xendara from Xardenora is on a mission of tree restoration. She is joined by her best friend Acacia, Oaky (Chancellor Oakwood), King Oren, her father, princes from the six sister planets, like the childhood friend and pilot Prince Darijus from Regvald and Prince Xalvador from Desdemona.

As descendants of the ancient Progenitors they use their powers and technologies to help revive other planets, but that doesn’t always go smoothly. The Great Accident, with many lives lost, still overshadows their achievements.

Every 7k years, a new Progenitor reveals themselves, but the new one has not done it yet. The new Progenitor also possesses all the knowledge from before.

As Xendara progresses helping worlds during her mission, suddenly the convoy is attacked by a mysterious enemy.

Now Xendara must become the Queen just as mysterious new powers are emerging in her and the Prophecy is getting revealed, holding a difficult choice for her.

I loved reading this Sci-Fi/Fantasy story! It had a beautiful world building, fun characters and an intriguing storyline. The main hero, Xendara, was likeable right from the start. The story pulled me in as I learned more about the Golden Wood trees, the fantastical powers, and the budding romance.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a beautifully written fantasy!

It’s very impressive when an author builds a completely new world and populates it with people who are strange (human but not quite) and also believable and empathetic. This YA epic fantasy combines elements of sci-fi, fantasy, and adventure with plenty of clean romance. It has beautifully developed characters, stunning descriptions, and an epic story that sprawls across six planets. The planets’ peace and serenity are threatened by bad actors driven by power and greed. The story draws you in and keeps you reading. This compelling first book in the series leaves you wanting more.

This is a space opera wrapped in a fantasy with mysterious magic. The book has a few typos but the story itself is a solid, classic tale for young adults. The main characters are a race of humans descended from the "Progenitors" who are nearly immortal so that someone merely 201 years old is still considered not quite an adult. These long lived space faring people also possess some magical abilities associated to various elements (earth, fire, water, air) that allow them to help people on other planets to revive their dying planets. It's a good first book in a series and I can't wait to see the rest.

I started this book not sure if it was in my wheelhouse, but this story grabbed me from the very first page and I was hooked til the end. The characters of Xendara and Darijus are so very well developed. They are engaging and lovable. The world building is superb. This story was so incredibly told,I am excited to get started on the next book. I definitely recommend reading this book.

This story is really a weak 4. I like the story but in truth it drags a little. It is simple but that just may be because it is a YA series. I do plan to read the next book.

I love fantasy and I'm always looking for new stories but it feels like the "new" stories are all the same old wizards and vampires, so I was really excited to read a completely new kind of world. This has not disappointed, I'm only on chapter 5 (new born at home) and I'm really looking forward to seeing how the world develops more. It's super exciting with twists and surprises. I can't wait to see how it turns out!!
