Purchase options and add-ons
The Chandler Brothers from New York Times Bestselling Author Carly Phillips are back!
He's got wanderlust and no intention of settling down.
She's home to stay and has put her bad boy ex in her rearview mirror.
After spending his life abroad, embracing his freedom at every turn as a foreign correspondent, Roman Chandler finds himself the brother nominated to deal with his ailing mother's matchmaking shenanigans. Thanks to a coin toss, he needs to find someone to marry and fast. It shouldn't be that hard in sleepy Yorkshire Falls where women fall over themselves to hook a Chandler man.
But Roman only wants the one woman who got away.
Charlotte Bronson is back home to put down roots and get her lingerie business off the ground. She's not interested in her past or a man that chose to chase breaking news stories to the far corners of the earth over her. No matter how good they used to be or how combustible their chemistry still burns.
It's up to Roman to convince Charlotte he's a changed man and here to stay.
In honor of THE BACHELOR's 20th Anniversary all three books have been updated and will be reissued with gorgeous NEW covers with the same content but modernized for your reading pleasure. The BACHELOR was the first book that Kelly Ripa chose for her Reading with Ripa Bookclub.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2023Three brothers one sick mother and a toss of a coin.
What could possibly go wrong.
With Roman losing he finds himself needing the following - to find a wife asap and to start making babies.
That should not be hard for one of the Chandler boys, surely..
Yet no one can measure up to beautiful Charlotte and he can not do this to her as he knows he won’t stay and so does she.
Can they spend time together and not be affected by one other?
Can he choose another woman when all he sees is her?
With a meddling mother who loves playing matchmaker there are some funny moments.
A really enjoyable story with great characters and a wonderful family.
Excited to read the other brothers stories.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 28, 2023I read this years ago when I was plowing through Carly's backlist. The audio popped up during a library search, so I figured why not. I had forgotten more than I remembered, but I really enjoyed revisiting the Chandlers, in particular Roman Chandler, Charlotte Bronson, and the varied characters that make up the small town of Yorkshire Falls.
Charlotte and Roman have very different reasons for remaining unattached. I like the history they shared and how they stumbled into each other's lives.
Raina may have overplayed her hand a bit when it came to her actual health. The fact that her boys take the path they chose to amend for their bachelor ways is kind of comical, even if it's also ridiculous.
I read along with most of the audio book of the original release. The narrator is William Dufris. It's the first time I've listened to him and I like him.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2021This is the story of Roman & Charlotte. Roman travels to report the news. Charlotte owns a lingerie store, and some other clothing along with it. Roman’s mom is deceiving her three grown boys, who are now men, about her health to get one them married so she can have a grandchild. Roman and Charlotte had went on a date when they were in high school. He really, really liked her and never forgot her. She fell hard for him. They really had connected on an emotional level. Then, she found out his plans on leaving to fulfill his dream. So, she walked away. Now Roman is back because of his mother’s deceiving health. He lost a coin toss between his brothers, that he would be the one to get married and have a child. So many realizations from the past come to light in this story, on both their parts. This is a push and pull relationship. Can it ever come to fruition? Roman and Charlotte go through a lot emotionally. This story will keep you engrossed from beginning to end. Only a well written book can do that. Looking forward to the next book in this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 31, 2020This was the book that introduced me to Carly Phillips and the Chandler brothers. I have read the series several times and absolutely love them. This book does so much right. The main characters are 3 brothers. Each has a different personality but none wants to marry. You also meet their mother who has come up with a plan to get each of her boys to marry. The relationship between the brothers and their mother and the brothers themselves is written so believably. You can feel the love and respect they have for one another but also see the unrelenting teasing between the brothers. Carly Phillips has a well realized small town as the setting for the stories. You get to know several of the characters around town and follow them through the series. I feel like I could step right into this town, know everyone and feel perfectly at home. I could continue gushing on but the fact is these books will leave you smiling and looking forward to revisiting again soon.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2022Roman and Charlotte made a good pair. They didn't WOW me with their chemistry, but it was a good hometown relationship.
I really loved Charlotte, except for her baggage. Had she been younger, I would have maybe accepted her view on life. But she wasn't. She's a grown woman who was basing her future happiness on ONE couple, her parents. And to top it off, we get told at the end, not the middle so it could be better developed in the story, that what she thought she knew was really not.
I think this book had really good potential, but too many plot-points were just thrown at us and not developed. Her personality was very cute and likable, and it made it easy to read the story but it could have been a lot more developed than it was. And as for Roman, the only thing that was odd is the coin toss attitude. It was as if it was just OK. No turmoil, no boo-hoo me, nothing. Like it was the most normal thing in the world … #twitchy LOL
- Reviewed in the United States on June 12, 2023I can tell it’s a decades-old book, especially when one of the characters mentions a “portable phone” in the garage. There are love scenes, but they aren’t graphic. I prefer explicit reads. I don’t think the characters are shallow or lack depth like some old reviews mentioned. I do hate when authors interject other people’s storylines. I don’t care what Annie, Russell, or Raina is thinking or doing. They’re boring. I did see the plot twist as far as who was the local thief but not their motivation.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2021This is one of my favorite all time books. I read this book first when it was picked for kelly Ripas book club and I got addicted to all of Carly Phillips books. I have read every book from her but this is still my favorite. Roman and Charlotte are a great coup,e you can’t help but root for. They both try to put family first and live their life to make them happy. Second chances are alway a good trope but this one I loved because it just seems so real. I loved getting to meet Raina and of course Rick and Chase and Love seeing their stories in the next books in this series. I love this series and have reread and listened to many times.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2023I really liked this book. It was easy to read and great for daydreaming times -- vacation, end of a long day, or a quick day-time break. Very nice character development and great sense of place. And best of all - a Happily Ever After!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good reading
Took me a while to get into this book but once I did it was a good read.
There are some good characters in this book. Charlotte and Roman story is good with a few ups and downs along the way.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good read if a little slow
A good read. Roman & Charlotte both have issues around commitment - one doesn’t stay put long enough and the other doesn’t want their heart broken or to be left needing someone to complete their life.
There was humour and heat, attraction, chemistry and though it was definitely in what we’ve come to know as Carly’s style I felt it dragged on just a little..... thought that didn’t really stop my enjoyment of the read.
I liked getting glimpses of the other Chandler Brothers and I’m looking forward to their stories. Glad these books have been rereleased as I hadn’t read them previously.

4.0 out of 5 stars My read
I am not good at explaining myself except to say, I couldn't put the book down. I stayed in bed and read it in one session without a break.
