But he doesn’t give a damn.
Maggie
The royal family needs a tutor. Someone they can trust. Someone who isn’t swayed/distracted from their duties by working for royalty.
I’m perfect for the position, since I don’t know the first thing about English royalty.
My father needs money for medical bills, and I’m desperate.
The children are charming, and when I meet their handsome older brother, Prince Edward, my heart skips a beat.
I may be the tutor. but he’s teaching more than I want to know about falling for the wrong man.
He’s a player, and I need this job so I try to stay away.
Keyword: try.
Edward
I’m expected to make the best match for my country.
But marriage has never interested me. I spend my nights cavorting with beautiful women from the most suitable families, always avoiding serious entanglements.
Then Maggie waltzes into our lives and turns my world upside down.
Everything I thought I wanted, everything that’s expected of me—
she makes me want to throw it all away for her.
The fact that she won’t let me near her only makes me desire her even more, and I’m a royal who doesn’t like to follow the rules.
This book is part of the Royal Romances series, but it can be enjoyed as a stand alone read.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 17, 2019An excellent story. Through most of the story I didn't think much of Edward. The one good thing I liked right from the start was that he never pretended to be anything but who he was. As the story continued, I could see him changing little by little. Maggie and Edward are perfect for each other. I look forward to more of this royal family.
Holly Holt did a fantastic job narrating. She really brought the story to life.
I recieved a free Audible copy of this story, at my request, in exchange for a honest review.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 13, 2019It started out with a cute premise (American girl spills coffee on someone on her way to an interview only to find out that he is conducting the interview and later finds out he is royalty) but the execution could have been better. There were errors that proofreading should have caught and some of the dialogue and internal narrative was choppy or repetitive. I was disappointed in Maggie’s reactions to some things and she seemed slow on the uptake for someone who was supposed to be smart. Written in dual POV, there were a couple of sexy scenes and a little bit of humor but the book could have used more of both. It’s a quick, fun read.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2021The typos, especially in the last chapter, were disconcerting. The plot paced inexorably to a royal HEA, making this a comfortable light read, if you can handle steamy scenes.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 28, 2019This is the first book I've read by this author, and I really enjoyed it. If you like royal romances, you will enjoy it as well. The characters, Edward and Maggie are interesting, well-developed and have chemistry. The story is interesting, well-written with a happily ever after. In addition to receiving an arc from Bad Boy Update, I purchased the book for my collection.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 15, 2019I loved the close camaraderie between the main character, Maggie, and the little prince and princess she was tutoring. Love the interactions with the Queen. And Prince Edward is of course a total dreamboat. It doesn't take him long to realize Maggie is more than his usual fling, which I was fine with. However, I didn't feel there was enough conflict. The few times there was an argument or a scandal, I didn't feel heartbroken for them.. didn't feel the need to cry over their situation.. and I actually really love when novels make me feel that amount of pain for their characters. Beautiful story. Great writing. It just misses out on a star for me because of that.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 4, 2019Maggie was an American living in London. She needed a good paying job to help pay her fathers medical bills. The interview to be a tutor for two royal children was on the agenda. Prince Edward was on hand for the interview, but Maggie didn’t recognize him as she was into all things royal. Lots of intrigue and HEA. Loved it.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 22, 2020I really enjoyed this book. It was cute and romantic. And a dream that every female wishes to come true with a royal. Loved it! I can honestly recommend.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2019I love the rich bad playboy turned love sick puppy. In fact those may be my favorite to read. But I just couldn’t seem to connect to the characters in this one. I found it hard to picture the story as it went. There where many parts of the book i did like though. And as I said its your typical rich playboy turned love sick. So if thats your cup of tea its still worth a read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love reading about Royalty!
This is Edwards story with Maggie. Maggie is looking after her sick father & needs a job. She has an interview at a hotel for a tutors job, but when she gets there she ends up falling into the arms of a stranger & tipping her coffee all down his shirt!

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay...
Maggie gets a job as a tutor in the royal family & Edward is the older prince. He asks her out, but she refuses him, which just seems to encourage him more.
There are a few typos here & there in the story which is annoying.
Edward isn’t as likable as her. He’s a bit conceited both in how he behaves as well as how he thinks. Here are a few examples when he first sees seeing her in his room:
-I wasn’t sure I'd seen any woman as beautiful as her in a long time. That was saying something because I was practically surrounded by beautiful women on a daily basis.
-“You are clearly, uh, very experienced with women.”
“I like to think so.”
When we compare that to Maggie, who is caring for her ailing father in all her spare time, it’s a bit too much of a contradiction.
-... plenty of women I’d spent adequate time with whom I enjoyed. At the end of the day, I could take them or leave them. I didn’t feel like I needed to spend any significant time with any of them. (He thinks this about women in general, though not about Maggie...)
So he’s isn’t as likable because he’s conceited and immature. However, she is also somewhat immature.
They end up having a short one night stand, which turns into another (without any protection, or discussion related to this before or after)... He just can’t stay away from her. It’s not quite stalking, but it comes a bit too close to this at times when he does not want to listen to or accept her refusals.
Then he pays off her medical debts without talking to her, & Maggie starts to feel like he paid her for her services...
It’s a story that is predictable, without any realism thrown in. Even at the end, Maggie keeps near her someone who she has trust issues with, which doesn’t ring true at all.

3.0 out of 5 stars A cute quick read
Maggie and Edward's story was a quick sweet read about love at first sight and when a playboy meets his match.
It had multiple pov and a decent story line, it was enjoyable, but I don't feel compelled to complete the series.
