4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars 379 ratings

Eliza Noble doesn’t belong in my world.

I’m a Prince, and she’s a scholarship student.

No one thinks she’s good enough, but I’ll have her anyway.

From the moment I lay eyes on her, she intrigues me.

And even though my friends can’t stand her, something deep inside me burns to know the pretty girl who doesn’t quite fit in.

At first, I hide my curiosity.

I have a rep to protect.

But I can’t hold back forever.

I will make her mine.

Then I’ll be forced to choose.

Do I pursue the path determined by my birthright,

or do I follow my heart?

Pick up your copy of Mckenna James’ Royal Academy and get your royal romance fix.

This book is part of the Royal Romances series, but it can be enjoyed as a stand alone read.

Wow! Such a great book! I really enjoyed the rollercoaster of emotion in this story. I held my breath in places, raged at Clayton in others, and cried for Eliza and Drew too. This book was definitely worth the time it took me to read it.

I loved the story of the Prince and his true love. While it was definitely a story like many other fairy tales, with the evil friend, the Queen mum, and others, there was enough common elements to make it fun reading. My only complaint was it ended too soon.

Over all the story was a cute read, we have our h meet the Prince and they become partners in class and they fall in love. The H has a best friend who harass our h for being poor/don't fit in and also the h dad who works for a rag magazine, I like how when our H finds out and that does not matter to him , but took several down hill turns.. he giggled, the were supposed to be going to an private island but ended up in Paris (what!) and it just ended abruptly. I hope their sister gets a story so we can have some type of update on this couple.

Lesson learned from this story? First impressions can be wrong. The heroine, Eliza Noble, is a commoner who works 2 jobs so that she can attend college for which shevreceived a scholarship. She is also the daughter of a tabloid photographer who has made life hell for the Royal Family. Drew is the Prince of England who is in one of her classes. She did not like him based on his aristocratic background. But he is impressed by her and wants to get to know her better.

They are assigned as partners on a project. She makes it clear to him that she's not going to do all the work while he coasts. He is offended by that and sets out to prove her wrong. Eliza realizes that her first impression of Drew is completely wrong! It was actually fun reading how her eyes started seeing him in a new light. Their chemistry starts snapping and crackling and they fall in love.

Drew's friends don't like the fact that she's a commoner and they find out who her father is. They bully her and try to get her to quit school. But she won't and Drew protects her from his "friends". What will Drew do when he learns who her father is? Will that spell the end of their blooming, glorious romance?

The author wrote another entertaining and captivating story about the Royal family! She kept my interest from start to finish! Great job!

I read an advanced copy and I leave my honest review!

I really didn’t hate the book. It was a cute story, if a little played out. What killed me was the line “he giggled.” Omg. I couldn’t really picture this Prince as a romantic lead after that image. This is the trap that some authors fall into, which is, they can write female dialogue but not male. The men end up sounding and thinking effeminate. I love a dual perspective novel, it this falls short. It has this weird formality to it that doesn’t let me connect to these characters as real people.

I had to edit this. This book is now below par. Why does she like, nay, “love” this guy? At the slightest hint of trouble, he turns into a complete jerk which seems so counter to the character she initially created. Ugh. He sucks and I’m not sure why she’d want him.

Andrew is the Prince of England and a student at Whitby University. As he is on his way to class he hears a girl cussing her car and he offers to help. She turns his help down and continues about her business but Andrew goes to a coffee place and buys her a pastry and a drink before he heads back towards class he leaves them with her. When Eliza gets to class she notices Andrew is in the same class. The professor breaks them into partners for an assignment and she ends up with Andrew. The professor wouldn't let her trade partners so they exchange info so they could meet up to work on their project. Sparks fly between them but Eliza knows that there's no use in making any moves on him because they are from too different of backgrounds. Andrews friends make it plain that they'll never accept her no matter what Andrew thinks of her which puts them at odds. Will Andrew quit seeing Eliza because of his friends? Can Eliza continue at school with the way his friends have been acting towards her?

This is a great story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book for Bad Boy Update.

I love the romance between Drew and Eliza. It is a fairytale with all of the right elements. True love conquers all. An evil villain. And a few misunderstandings along the way. But you really want these two to be together.

This book is about a young Prince named Andrew or Drew falling in love with a commoner. Eliza has work to pay her way in university at one of the elite ones!

Too much inner monologuing. It drones on too many times about the inner thoughts of the characters mind. Rather than focus on about the here and now and the basis of the story.
Every now and then is ok, but not every single moment, that's what took up most of the pages in the book It's too much, I found myself skipping some of the line just to get to the speaking parts. the ending of the story was nice.
