Wild Thing: A Rock Star and Billionaire Romance (Billionaires in Disguise: Georgie and Rock Stars in Disguise: Xan Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 708 ratings

The music calls Georgie.

Every night, she stands offstage, watching Xan Valentine set fire to the crowd with music until they would burn down the city for him. His music wraps her until her fingers dance, desperately wanting the piano, but her terrified legs could never walk onto a stage.

Most nights, when Xan Valentine strides off the stage, his dark eyes shift, blurring, and he becomes Alexandre de Valentinois again.

Sometimes, Xan won’t let go.

Some of the other band members, Rade and Grayson, are caught in a death spiral of booze, addiction, and groupies. The drummer, Tryp, is too infatuated with his new wife to do more than show up to play.

Xan is the only one who can compel them onto the stage.

He’s holding Killer Valentine together with the force of his will.

This can’t go on.

Something has to break.

Blair Babylon - Thrillers that Bang

Editorial Reviews

About the Author

Blair Babylon is the nom de plume of an award-winning, USA Today bestselling author who used to publish literary fiction. Because professional reviews of her other fiction usually included the caveat that there was too much deviant sex and too much interesting plot, she decided to abandon all literary pretensions, let her freak flag fly, and write hot, sexy, erotic romance and wild, suspenseful thrillers, science fiction, and urban fantasy.

I want to start out saying, it's been a long time since I shed tears over book characters. There were times I wanted to shake some sense into the people and other times I had to grab the tissue. I absolutely love the fact that my Kindle book includes references to David Garrett's music. I played it while I read, and it broke my heart. So far, Georgie has found three personalities in this one person who is simply a "friend with benefits." As the story goes on, I watch her falling for him and him falling for her too. I understand French, and his concern and caring for her are so evident. I don't know what she expects from this man who came into her life a musician. They weren't supposed to go this far.

This story is dirty and gritty and full of heart and pain. It is so reminiscent of the real life of a musician. Georgie and Xan/Alex/Alexandre are learning, through their time together, that love is not a game. Sometimes, even though you try not to feel it, it becomes. Blair Babylon knows her characters deepest darkest secrets and shines a pen light on a little at a time. Her characters are real, and flawed, and tormented in so many ways. There are multiple personalities, tragic drug addictions, and a woman on the run from killers bent on punishing her for something her father did. I don't know how you do it Blair Babylon, but keep doing it. You are an artist with the written word.

Here is another 5 star book in Blair Babylon's Billionaires in Disguise series. So far, the series is a creative tour de force of heady romance, "panty melting" sex and surprising plot lines.

Wild Thing continues the mercurial dalliances between rock star Alex/Xan and Georgie, both brilliant musicians, both hiding their real personas from the world. The most surprising aspect of this book's story is how thoroughly and intensely the reader is drawn into the rock star experience itself. The passages describing Xan's thoughts and emotions on concert nights are mesmerizing. It is a rare treat for the reader to observe the behind-the-scenes of the hero... well, doing his job. We never get to experience the blow by blow inside the head of the quarterback during the big game, but in this book, we stalk onto the stage and stand in the spotlight with the lead singer - and we then get to live the mind-blowing night his girlfriend has accompanying the exhausted rock star to bed to release their pent-up passion for each other. Wow, sign me up for the next book in this series!

I have read the Billionaires in Disguise serIes and have been waiting for Georgie's storyline for quite some time. While waiting, Alwaysland which starts The Rockers in Disguise series was out and that would entwined the 2 series because of Georgie and Xan. That being said I like the Rockers in Disguise series cause it surprised me how much depth the characters have. Yes there is the stereotypical sex, drugs and rock and roll but also so much more. Wild Thing is a fun book to read but it has these what the hell moments that won't let you go. At times I'm thinking this dude Xan my be mentally unstable. Is it genius or purely Cray Cray. But then to be a genius don't you have to be a little crazy. I love rock and would have liked a little more reference. I'm totally lost on the classical references but I goggle it and was blown away. I'm still waiting for the old Georgie that we saw in the previous Billionaires in Disguise series cause this chick needs her reappear. Impatiently waiting for the next installment.

This was a great story of Xan and Georgie. If you read Blair Babylon books, you should know the Billionaires in Disguise character Georgie. She is a very well developed character in the books about Rae and Lizzy, and in the first book about her and Xan, and we get to know her even better here. She was raised rich, is a virtuosa pianist (with stage fright), is running from the Russian mob because of her father's dishonesty, has a mother who won't help pay off the mob, is studying to be a lawyer, and was a worker in the Devilhouse (a BDSM club) to pay for college. She met the hero in the previous stories, and they had an immediate connection because of the music they both are completely addicted to.
The hero is rich, a duke, a virtuoso violinist, a rock star singer/guitarist, and seems to have many disconnected parts to his personality.
I love how we get deeply into both main characters thoughts and feelings. I love the sensual scenes, I love the descriptions of the concerts. It is all good.
I am really looking forward to the culmination of the story.

Xan is driven to make sure that Killer Valentine is a success, no matter what the cost. He is the glue holding the band together. He drives himself incredibly hard both on stage as he sings love songs to every woman in the audience, and off stage where Xan/Alex and Alexandre fight for control of his life and emotions.

Georgie gets pulled into the fray that is the life of a rock band on the road. She lets the music call to her, gets caught up helping write songs and making the existing music better. Georgie is intrigued by the multiple sides of Xan/Alex/Alexandre and has a hard time trying to figure out just who it is that she wants the most. She also knows the Russians that have been trying to kidnap her will catch up with her eventually. Flicka is warning her about Xan/Alex/Alexandre and she doesn’t see what the issue is.

Music is a ”Bitch Mistress” yet again, pulling people in, and breaking their hearts.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat and wishing for more. The romance, suspense and action are awesome. I can’t wait for the next book!

I was provided with a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review. I love Blair’s books so much I always buy them also. The stories are exceptional!!!

I really enjoyed this book but I can't believe that Xan and Georgie are going to be band mates only. I seriously don't think they will last as 'just friends'. Can't wait to read the next book.

Wonderful... Xan gets more and more complex, Georgie gets more and more interesting. The author manages to give us a sense of the music and the life of a musician while writing a hot romance...and you end up wishing you also had a musical talent. Can't wait to read the next one!!

Every night, Georgie stands off stage, watching Killer valentine. Most nights, when Xan strides off stage, he becomes Alexandre de Valentinois again. Xans holding Killer Valentine together with the force of his will. This can't go on!
Wild Thing begins exactly where Every Breath You Take left off. Immediately you are pulled into the story and the lives of Xan/Alex and Georgie. The story flows seamlessly, as if no time has passed between books. When the band begins to unravel Xan turns to Georgie for help. Her fingers twitch, itching to play the piano. Will her stage fright prevent her from helping Xan?
Georgie knows she must leave Xan/Alex. Staying with Xan only means putting everyone at risk while she hides from the Russian Mob.
As your reading Wild Thing, you're pulled so deep into the story and lives of the characters, it's easy to feel like you're part of the band and not simply a reader or fan of B Babylon. Xan/Alex and Georgie spend so much time denying the need/ability to fall in love; they don't see what's under their noses. Neither Xan nor Georgie can truly face the prospect of leaving each other. Always finding reasons why they shouldn't part ways, taking comfort from each other at night, finally feeling like they've come home. Safe from the world outside, reassurance in every touch. It's like being at school again, having friends deny their falling for their crush, while watching them fall regardless!
As always, there are many twists to this story, as well as a few surprises (some quite jaw dropping) along the way. We get to see a little more of the band members, as well as a few of our favourite characters from the other linked In Disguise series.
Once you've read a book by Blair Babylon, you will find no other can compare. Her books hold a depth of character and quality I have never come across before! It's easy to see that, for Blair, writing books and creating these fantastic characters and worlds we become lost in, is not a hobby or job, it's a true vocation!
If you're anything like me, when it comes to great authors, that one click button cannot click and deliver fast enough. So go on, buy now, sit back and enjoy! Oh and don't forget the Kleenex!!!

I received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is bk 3 of 4... Quite sad really, constantly brought a tear to my eye. This authors writing gets better and better. Stories are laid out in previous books, so when you start a new novel by have already been introduced to some characters who now take centre stage. A good read.
