- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 September 2022I don’t normally leave a review, but felt I needed to say something about this book.
My pre ordered book arrived yesterday, what can I say but wow . I am a Nanny who looks after my grandchildren, and find it hard at times to know how, and what a balanced healthy meal should consist of for my grandchildren.
I struggle and worry when they sometimes refuse food , and making sure I am giving healthy snacks.
After reading the beginning chapters I feel this will help take away the stress and worry.
It’s so straight forward to follow and the beginning sections are so informative about what, when to feed, how to read labels, how to deal with issues and much much more, and the recipes are beautifully illustrated.
The thing I feel that’s so helpful is the prep time and how long it takes to cook, so you can decide what to cook depending the time you have.
l needed to use up some salmon so I tried the salmon burgers with kale sala .What can I say they are so tasty and so easy to make , and when you have a tired hungry toddler you want something quick tasty and healthy.
This delivered on all 3 and enjoyed by all, even my husband asked if there was anymore, and so nice to all be sitting down at the table eating the same thing together.
Thank you Charlotte for creating such a wonderful book, that not only helps parents, but anyone looking after children , I recommend everyone needs to have a copy in there home.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 February 2025So much excellent information all in one place – I feel like every Mum should have this book so that they can understand the reasons behind what foods to give to their little ones and the way in which to do so, to get them all off to the best start. So much more than just a recipe book. Thank you Charlotte.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 September 2022I have been eagerly awaiting this cookbook and was thrilled my pre-ordered copy arrived today.
Aswell as having tasty and delicious recipes, I was delighted to see it contains alot of practical and useful information, such as portion sizes, reading labels on food aswell as developing healthy eating habits. Being someone who is not a confident cook, I found Charlotte's other book wonderful and it gave me great confidence in cooking for my baby. Having a toddler to cook for can be challenging. Reading this book, I feel like every question and concern I have in my head concerning feeding my toddler has been answered!
It is a beautiful book visually too and contains easy to follow recipes. Even my partner (who is not into cooking either) was looking at it and said he will be able to use this too!
A staple cookbook for any family with young children and a beautiful book too.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 May 2024Some great recipes in this book, but a lot of it is information about toddlers dietary requirements and guidance to help with fussy eating. Absolutely love the author but recipe wise there’s not loads in here (which is why I bought this)
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 October 2022Not just a recipe book (although the recipes are fab) , but a detailed insight into the psychology of Toddlers eating behaviours. Little steps on how to make meal times a happy and positive experience and how to shape your children’s eating habits for the rest of their lives.
I have a 2 and a 4 year old, both going through pretty picky phases at the moment, and I had got stuck in a cooking rut, running out of ideas and inspiration
But today was my day to experiment with some of the new ideas from this book - and with much success, they both tried and enjoyed most of what I cooked up and had a really well balanced day.
The holy grail!
Feel like I’ve smashed parenting today 👊🏻
I have followed Charlotte since I had my first baby 4 years ago, and have learnt so much from both of her books and her Instagram account.
‘How to Wean your baby’ has been my go to present for all my friends that have had babies over the last few years, and now I can update them with this bible!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 February 2025Nice book I have the weaning version of this one which I love. My 22month old is a fussy eater and I didn’t find many of these recipes good for him.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 November 2022As well as a lot of useful information, this book contains tonnes of yummy recipes which are easy and quick to make, and fun for the little ones to get involved with too! The pictures are enticing and help my daughter to get excited about eating the food (and trying out new things!), and I love reading the little introduction to each recipe, where Charlotte provides a brief insight into how the recipe came about or why it is named so. The blueberry baked oats, raspberry drops, prawn traybake, and mini wrap quiches are all huge hits here. I can't wait to work our way through lots of the other recipes over the coming weeks, I'm sure many others will make it onto our 'regulars' list too.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 November 2024Bought this for my daughter and she loves it! It is packed full of really useful and helpful information and tips to help bring a little calm to bringing up your little one, especially if it's your first.

3.0 out of 5 stars I wish there were more recipes
A lot of advice but not many recipes. I found the snack recipes to be good but most of the meals I have found myself tweaking to add more flavour and interest for my toddler.
