Powerful, you can't just read it, you have to experience it.
I purchased this book after completing Paul's Grief Movement Guide training...what a game changer. Paul offers so many great tools to help connect people to emotions surrounding grief of any kind (death, divorce, job, relationship, etc.) and move through "all the feels". When you allow yourself to "be the student" and really tap into the exercises, the small shifts happen and there is indeed hope and transformation on the other side. The exercises are accessible for any ability or level, most can be done seated. As a hospice Social Worker and Yoga instructor, this has become an essential go-to resource.

Since my Soulmate/Husband passed on in March, I've been on an emotional rollercoaster, up and down between beautiful spiritual connections to on-the-floor debilitating grief. In spite of my loving support system of family, friends, my therapist, and an incredible yoga teacher, I knew I was holding back deep, deep grief I didn't know how to express. As a writer and artist, I've been using creativity to express my loss. Still, there was something primal I knew needed release.

I searched online for Grief Yoga. There were no classes locally, so I ordered this book by Paul Denniston which came with the promise of access to his healing videos. I got the book the next day (thank you, Amazon!), watched the included videos, and began healing in a brand new way.

This guy is the real deal. He understands grief and the human need to audibly express the pain, anger and confusion that loss brings to us all. The neighbors haven't complained when I open up my throat Chakra and wail "WHY?" like a Banchee. This author has given me the gift of grieving viscerally, and finding quiet love to light my path to take my next step in this Earth journey.

Although we've never met, I thank Paul D. from the bottom of my heart. ❤️

Grief is a tabu subject that nobody wants to speak about but yet it effects every part of our life whether we have a loss of a love one or a relationship or a job the list goes on because just like the seasons their are beginnings and endings that is the circle of life. Paul gives the most amazing tools and practices to heal oneself. Grief is a emotion and Emotions get released through motion otherwise they get stuck in the body and can cause dis-ease . I have been a certified medium for thirty years and this will definitely be in my recommendation to all who wants to heal from there grief and trauma . I just lost my mom and this book and vidios has helped heal the physical pain in my heart . Thank you Paul for helping so many through there trying time of growth .

I recently lost 2 family members and the grief is overwhelming. This book has been a God-send and is helping me to learn to grieve appropriately without bottling all of this horrific pain up inside. Thank you so much for offering something so meaningful to people’s lives. The writing and photos are nice and large and one is able to see how to perform each step adequately, even if you are a beginner at Yoga. The personal stories of others having dealt with the grieving process is an added personal help. Thank for a great product. It also has a video which is so helpful to me because I am a Yoga beginner.

I'm 65, not a yoga student, just deep in grief after losing my son.
I had no idea how much pain and sadness I had trapped in certain body areas until I tried Healing Through Yoga. Paul's work is unique and beneficial in guiding the bereaved with movement and release. The book has easy-to-follow instructions, beautiful photos depicting each position, and some moves from a chair position. It's a gift to the world and very much needed. I hope this book finds its way onto the shelves of every therapist working in grief. It would also be a great addition to yoga studios.

Grief Yoga is a powerful, healing technique. I was lucky enough to train as a certified Grief Yoga Teacher with Paul and have been looking forward to this book ever since. It does not disappoint and is everything I hoped for and more. It gives a great introduction to Paul's empowering approach to transforming the pain of grief through movement, sound and breath. Written in Paul's signature heart-led style, it is clear and easy to follow with beautiful photos. I can't recommend it enough.

I'm not just a chance reader of this Paul's first book; rather we both had a great time going through a joint Laughter-yoga advanced training course in LA, Calif. a few years ago! Well remembered ! What a happy encounter of the first kind -- well before the COVID-19 ever hit us all. Paul then told me he was developing a new course, one of a kind, on integrating traditional Yoga ideas with the now (then) emerging new concept of Laughter Yoga, into what he was calling Grief Yoga; and he was, as I was told then, a founding developer of Grief Yoga. And now, what he then told me became a well-documented outcome as published !
I thoroughly enjoyed going over the book, and found it so well organized, readable highly, in easy-to-follow English, and convincing of all the merits derived from doing these exercises. Paul, and Paul alone, is demonstrating all the poses so effortlessly, so naturally accompanied by his straight most readable explanations, that all readers, myself included, find the book a treasure to retain and a guidance to be with, so as to enrich our daily life. Thank you, Paul, for writing this book. I will always cherish it, and will remember your kind training routine. Should we ever have another chance of getting together for the common training in California, thank God ! Till then, we shall keep our hope burning everafter. May your Grief Yoga further grow bigger and bigger, thus helping others (like me) to appreciate the value of living well. All the best, from Kiyoshi Nagata@Kashiwa, Chiba, Jpn
