Found (Thornbriar Academy Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 1,411 ratings

Can I survive in a world that hates what I am?

Raised by human traffickers, I learned from an early age that the one person I can trust is myself. Rescued and brought to Thornbriar Academy, I've only traded one kind of imprisonment for another.

When a scorching hot jaguar shifter and a scandalously hunky water shifter take me in, I start to believe I've found a home and a pack. Until I discover a devastating secret that just might get me—and them—killed.

Every shifter needs a mate, but spirit shifters like me need four.

Found is a reverse harem novel featuring one tough-as-nails innocent and the sexy elemental shifters who come to love her (including a merman shifter, a panther shifter, a vampire shifter, and a dragon shifter). Expect fated mates, bullies, unusual shifters, vampires, and love in this new adult college-age romance.

New twist on shifters. I really loved this book. The main character Hailey is a badass but a little broken. Shes trying to find her way after being released from a hell hole of a situation. This is definitely an interesting twist on shifters. I really loved reading something a little different. I would say this is probably medium burn. Loveee the boys and their on again off again possessiveness. I really liked how the relationships developed throughout the book. The author really paints a good picture of each character and their background. Multiple POVs definitely helps. Overall I would definitely recommend this book!!!

This was a good book, I most likely won’t continue the series and if I do it’s just to find out the answers to the secrets.

This was a very unique take on RH fated mates. I prefer for the men in RH’s to know they are sharing a mate and to not have any drama with each other and fight over the woman. I also don’t like how one of them is a player even after discovering the bond.

My reasoning for 4/5 stars is because the characters are very childish. It makes the whole book seem very juvenile. Also the relationship building just wasn’t there except for with one guy and she does him so dirty. This had so much potential and would have been better if there was more maturity within the characters and if the guys as a “pack” actually acted like one.

But the writing is good and the mystery plot is very entertaining. It’s just not much of a romance.

The idea of the story is really good, but the execution could use some tweaks. It isn't a bad read, but the potential and further writing skills could make this even better. A lot of the redundancy of the same thoughts, presented the same way, and known by the bonded pack had it feeling like the guys shared the same brain. The have the same way of thinking even though their personalities are a bit different.

The FMC isn't that lovable. How she rationalizes things, reactions to situations and the like are a tad extreme. I know she's trying to find her place in her new life, but it's frustrating how she goes about doing things. I can infer all her mistrust with authority figures from her previous captivity... but why doesn't bringing up her mistreatment and issues on campus to anyone who might do something, it baffles me.

We get introduced to many different professors and instructors, but they are all third party to the story. I think the plot and story would have benefited from more interactions and circumstances where those authority figures are more prevalent... otherwise what is the point of the pop-in for a couple line scenes? Some are tidier than others, where later it makes sense. But usually it's pointless.

    Solid 3 star read.

I'm not even mad that the intimate scenes are lacking in many different facets, because it's on par with the level of writing we're given; almost could be a semi-great story.

What a fantastic story. It has so much drama and suspense throughout it. Hailey has gone through so much and is still going through a lot. It takes us on a journey as she is discovering herself and what it means when she discovers what she does. The guys we don’t really learn that much about but what we do has me intrigued to learn more. The story is extremely well written and developed. I truly enjoy the depth of the story and it truly does get you invested into it. You are glued to as you have to see what happens next. Yes, it does end in a cliffhanger and I absolutely cannot wait to see the next one.

This is a fast paced book and almost too short. It kept my attention and I could have read it all in one day if I had started earlier.
It’s about a girl whose been locked up for most of her life. When she gets out of one prison, she feels like she’s been put into another. The second one is an academy for shifters who are going to be turning for the first time and learning how to control themselves from hurting anybody.
She’s learning who she is and finding friends who just so happen to be all guys. What’s keeping my attention is how she’s going to handle her shifter and will people want her dead once they find out what kind of shifter she is? And has she doomed her new friends/mates.

Her relationship with the guys seemed really quick especially after terrin treated her several times and then Adrian. She's way too forgiving for not trusting people.

Hailey is in a home, she has lived there as long as she can remember and needs to escape. The chance comes much sooner than she thought, but being taken an academy for shifters just feels like another prison.
Can Hailey settle down there or should she run? Hailey needs to sort out her friends from her enemies, but can she survive alone?
An excellent book for all lovers of the supernatural world.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really good
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 4, 2021
I really enjoyed this book, the storyline was good and I the main characters were all really likeable.
Hayley has had a tough upbringing after being kidnapped and imprisoned. She is then offered to go to an academy to learn about her kind. At the academy she meets 4 guys. She falls for 2 of them and them her, I'm guessing it will happen with the other 2 later on in the series.
But she figures she's a spirit shifter who are usually killed and she tries to escape. I won't say any more as I don't want to give to much away.
    Overall a great read.

I enjoyed Found , which is different from your normal one shifter story. Abducted as a child, not knowing anything about shifter. She seems to be on track to be a multi shifter. Will read the rest of the series.
