Great recipes but did I buy second hand without realising
Great book with some lovely recipes that the whole family can enjoy. I'm doing the Joe Wicks fitness plan so this helps stay on track. My only gripe, sadly, is the state of the book itself after literally 2 openings of it..the hardback cover has mostly come away at the sides. I bought this on Prime Day for £8 so no great shakes, but still, as a book lover this felt a bit pants to see a book damaged in this way seemingly without reason. No reflection on Joe however, who can literally do no wrong in my eyes, just a shame the books is a bit tatty when bought new. I would return on principal if it'd been bought at full price. Still a great recipe book for all home cooks wanting tasty, nutritious and healthy recipes.

    Just on opening this book I wanted to make everything!

    There’s a fab few pages of what you should have in your kitchen etc and then it’s broken down really well into categories like breakfasts, snacks, comfort foods, quick hearty meals, desserts etc.

    Everything looks delicious and relatively simple and the variety is immense! There are all different meats, fish, and plenty vegetarian meals too, mixed with smoothies, snacks…and most of the dishes could easily be altered if wanted.

    I was shocked to see such negative views about the vegetarian meals. My 2 daughters and I are vegetarian but we can alter meat dishes to suit us so there is no reason why those who prefer meat could not add some meat or fish to their meals if wanted. Also vegetarian meals are highly recommended as part of a healthy diet and meat doesn’t have to be included at every single meal.

    The family pictures are lovely and they have already inspired my 2 young daughters to make and try the dishes when they see Joe’s little ones eating the foods.

    Planning to start cooking up a storm with it with my girls this weekend!

    It’s a must have along with his others, but this one is already my favourite!

    When I read some of the reviews saying this was a vegetarian book I had to check I had the same book!! We are a family who like a varied diet but we don't want to be plant based or vegetarian. This book has a variety of beef, chicken, pork, fish, shelfish and veggie dishes. Its set out into helpful meal chapters. We do love fresh, varied, quick, easy, tasty meals and the fact these recipes are healthy is a bonus because you certainly don't feel like you are missing out. If you are like us you'll love this book! I follow Joe on Instagram to encourage me to workout but I found I was using his food posts for meal inspiration. I was cooking more and more of his new recipes and the family loved them (we don't have anything low fat in the house lol) so I pre-ordered this book. In our opinion this is the best of his books yet. Personally, we love how its a family cookbook - it even has chocolate in it! 😉

    I really love this book. Great layout and lots of content. This isn’t a body coach Plan book, but an easy way to incorporate new, nutritious foods into family life. Meals can easily be adapted to suit and are designed to give you a wide range of nutrients, while tasting awesome. If you are wanting to incorporate these into your body coach plan you can use the CYO section of the app for ingredient amounts or if you are calorie / macro counting, follow the recipes using your own allowances. It’s a shame other reviews have slated the veggie recipe content / amount of vegetables etc - this is actually what we need to ‘feel good’ hence the title Feel Good Food !!!

    I bought this to include pulses and vegetables to my diet. So many easy ideas to spice up my diet. I have knowledge of how to cook but nice to have some new recipes rather than buying pricey food boxes. Love it?

    The recipes are straightforward and well laid out and there are no tricky ingredients to source. However, even when you remember that Joe Wicks is a fitness coach and not a chef, this book is only ok. The food is not particularly interesting, the veggie recipes tend to be low in protein so are not adequate as a meal, some of the recipes are dreadful: don't bother trying the baked porridge concoction. There are a huge number of charming pictures of Joe's family, and some unlikely ones such as a small child faced with a giant plate of food.

    This is a great book for someone who wants to add a bit of variety to their diet and find lots of alternatives to continually eating meat in every meal. I eat way too much meat but I’m always stuck on veggie meals, so this book is super helpful. I think I own all of Joes books and this one is the best so far.
    I love the photos of him and his family. They really add to the fact that there’s a real family behind the recipes, who eat and enjoy them too.
    I think the people who rate this as one or two stars because it has more veggie recipes should actually try a few of them before making a judgement. Especially when they’re talking about their kids - try different things and let your kids decide what they prefer, don’t decide for them.

    This book contains a great selection of recipes covering most bases - they look accessible, easy, not going to dent the pocket too much (I’ve done Joe’s 90 day plan and it can get a little pricey!) and go heavy on the veg to help people get their 5 a day in, or however many experts have decided is best now!

    Yes, there are lots of glossy family pics - with a family that pretty, I’d do the same. It’s not exactly offensive watching Rosie polish off a flapjack or seeing the kids stirring a few bowls of mixture. Too many? Possibly, but I wouldn’t knock stars off for it. I did have to deduct one for lack of nutritional info though, that really should be in there to help people make informed choices about what they’re eating.

    As for the proportion of veggie recipes - yeah, there are a lot. There are also non-veggie recipes. But so much hate, come on - if you really feel so hard done by, just chuck a sausage in. Maybe not in the desserts, but hey, you do you….
