- Reviewed in the United States on July 11, 2016I switched to paleo when I realized not only could I make great dishes but my body seemed to love this way of eating and I had more energy than before. I found plenty of lunch, snack and dinner recipes but wasn't sure what to make for breakfast. Sometimes I want something quick and easy that I can eat while I'm literally running out the door, which is why I thought this book might help inspire me.
Well, I certainly wasn't disappointed! I was expecting egg-based recipes and perhaps pancakes or waffles but I was happy to find way more than just that. I love the banana bread and butternut paleo oatmeal. I'm always on the lookout for overnight breakfast recipes and this one was so good! Waking up to that aroma certainly encourages me out of my bed!
I prefer never to skip breakfast, even if I'm not that hungry, so the fruit smoothies are a great option and I love that you can make them in just a few minutes.
Each recipe in this book comes with a photo so you can see what the breakfast is going to look like, and I always prefer that when I'm using a cookbook.
I have this book on my iPad and I'm definitely going to try more of the breakfasts because the ones I tried so far were really good. A lot of the recipes you can make as snacks or for lunch too, so it's not just for breakfast. I'd recommend this book if you're new to paleo and want to learn some quick and easy recipes, or even if you've been doing paleo for a while and just want some fresh ideas.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 28, 2016My headline is my review. I looked through the recipes, shrugged, and never looked again. Paleo isn't really my thing, but some of the recipes looked interesting IF I was into paleo.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 28, 2016I know those aren't the words any author wants to hear - but the title of this review has nothing to do with the writing of the book! It is well written and well organized, colorful and inviting. The title has everything to do with the fact that breakfast (surprisingly) could be very doable a la Paleo - much better than expected, NOT BAD! Give the book a whirl to test drive some of the recipes. After I do, this could become a 5-star review! Not bad... 😌
- Reviewed in the United States on June 25, 2016I just love these recipes and the whole Paleo Diet revolution! Gray has come up with some recipes that are bold and creative. They are healthy and simple. The calorie-conscious selections combined with a daily exercise routine will bring noticeable results to both your waistline and your overall health.
All the recipes sound so yummy and the photographs are colorful and mouth watering. I think everyone would enjoy having this book to refer to even if you aren't dieting. There are recipes for snacks and smoothies as well as for full breakfast dishes that will satisfy every craving. I happen to love coconut in every form and I was tickled to see that it is used quite liberally in many of the recipes. Be sure to check out the incredible 3 ingredient no-bake coconut date bars, they are easy to make and my whole family eats them up in a heartbeat!
I have long been a fan of the Cavemandietblog and I highly recommend this author's work.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2016Another winner! I was excited to read and try out this cookbook as I had tried a previous cookbook of Gray and Samantha's. To be blunt--they did not disappoint! I tried three recipes, and was delighted with all three ( except--don't bake with sunflower butter--it turns everything green lol...tastes fine, but looks odd lol ) The Grain Free Chocolate Chip Zucchini Bread recipe--divine!! And I though Banana Bread was a thing of my past, but their Paleo recipe is amazing! And a perfect time to make their Pumpkin Spice Muffins...I had to put them in the freezer or I would have eaten them all at one time..so yummy! It is a very well written cookbook, with everyday ingredients...makes going Paleo very easy..

- Reviewed in the United States on September 5, 2016I started reading this cookbook on my phone. I quickly switched over to my Kindle so that I could more easily bookmark several of the recipes. I've already tried a couple of smoothies and the Coconut Flour Pancakes. I'm looking forward to trying several others. I'm grateful for the new ideas.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2016I think breakfast is the hardest meal to accomplish on almost any diet.
So it was great to get this cookbook to review, I was excited to see what
"fixes" there would be for doughnuts, cereal and muffins.
I found plenty of yummy options, from eggs and bacon to paleo pastries.
I haven't had a chance to try any yet, but I certainly will.
One quibble, the recipes don't say how many servings they make but
when they require 12 eggs, I assume they make a lot. And I'm not
cooking for 6 people.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2016Great basic paleo cook book wish it had more content but hey it was free .
