Product description
About the Author
Usain Bolt is a Jamaican sprinter widely regarded as the fastest person ever. He is the first man to hold both the 100 metres and 200 metres world records since 1977. Along with his team-mates, he also set the world record in the 4×100 metres relay. He is the reigning Olympic champion in these three events, the first man to win 6 Olympic gold medals in sprinting, and a five-time World champion. He was the first to achieve a double double by winning 100m and 200m titles at consecutive Olympics (2008 and 2012), and topped this through the first "double triple" (including 4x100m relays).
His 2009 record breaking margin for 100 m, from 9.69 (his own previous world record) to 9.58, is the highest since records began.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 April 2017I enjoyed reading this autobiography by Jamaican athlete and Olympic champion Usain Bolt.
His success has been achieved through good coaching and his own hard efforts. He talks
about his injuries and underlying medical condition Scoliosis which has plagued him over
the years, but which has never held him back from being the fastest man in the world.
A good read and a very interesting man.
The book includes an appendix on his personal bests and world records.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 August 2014I really enjoyed this story and it was written very well. Right from the start of the book it is interesting and I have learnt a lot about athletics. It was good to read about him growing up and what it is like in Jamaica and the desire to become an athlete and how difficult it is. When I watched him race recently I was able to remember everything he describes what happens during the race and see that in action. This is my first autobiography I have read and I would highly recommend as it gives you an insight into athletics.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 October 2013An easy read. Enjoyed the humour and honesty. A good holiday or night time read. Wish all books were as enjoyable. One for the kids to read too as it shows his determination, respect and honesty all pay off in the end; and how to focus on the good/important things in life. Hope I dont have to wait too long before another book like this comes along. As I said in my title, I read it in lightning speed, only a couple of days whilst chillin pool side.
Thank you Mr. Bolt for putting pen to paper.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 May 2015I thought this book would be the typical narrative filled with facade and self elevation. However, it was quite the contrast... I could not put this book down. I thought that Usain was quite real in his accounts and shared aspects of his career that most people were curious about: his false start, London 2012 eating and sporting habits etc. There are a few 'take aways' as well- his determination and drive to succeed, manners and respect taught by his parents...this book is great read.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 October 2017Good read and delivered on time
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 March 2017I didn't like the beginning but the book is really good and shows Usain's attitude as a champion ! I didn't think he is such a smart and down to earth type of guy. He is very mature and his success is not just luck or talent, but A LOT of hard work !
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 March 2014If you want to know the surprisingly simple factors which have made him the Fastest Man on earth - read this book. Having been in the Bird's Nest Stadium in Beijing when he won the 100m in the 2008 Olympics, I loved reliving those magic moments.
A lot of fun getting to know the man and being inspired to achieve your dreams.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting book to read
I purchased this book for my 10 yr old daughter who is a sprinter and she wanted to write her own review. "This book is a wonderful book to read. It is interesting , great , and enjoyable." I haven't read it myself but she has told me about parts of the book that have encouraged her through her rough patches. Once she realized that Bolt too had rough patches and was able to emerge victorious she was happy to keep trying. She was even lucky enough to meet Bolt and have him sign her book so this book is an absolute keeper.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good book which makes a fast read just like the champion
The world would have lost on the phenomenon of lightning Bolt but for the following few reasons. First, credits to his teachers, mentors, father who guided his steps to track and field rather than cricket which was his other passion. Second, credits to his doctor for taking care of his persistent back problem named scoliosis and his coach for giving him the proper training schedule to get him into shape and last but not least, the grace of God in his miraculous escape in a freak car accident just after coming to limelight in the 2008 Olympics. But as fortune would have it, everything came together and made the Legend that he is today.
Any athlete would have faded into oblivion with such a painful back but not Usain, who persisted and proved to the world the stuff he is made off. More than the trainings, it is the mindset of the champion that overcame all the odds to reach the pinnacle. His records of 9.58 in 100 m and 19.19 in 200 m, would have been much better but for his relaxing attitude at the close of the dash. He admits and he is a poor starter to come out of the blocks, but still he managed to push past the other top athletes of his time, and still had time to relax before reaching the finishing line. HE wanted to be known as the fastest man on the earth and he achieved and he didn’t mind losing these milliseconds to himself and not to others.
Having said that, his climb to the top was not without doubts in his ability which at times crop, but only to be put away by his coach or by his own underlying champions attitude. But it was never easy for him and he really sweated for it as well. As a person, he was good at heart, and had a down to earth attitude in spite of his greatness. May be that’s what true champions are made of.
A good book which makes a fast read just like the champion
