Summit of Passion: A First Love Fake Relationship Small Town Romance (The Springs Book 9) Kindle Edition
A first love, fake relationship, small-town romance from USA Today Best Selling Author, Elena Aitken.
She chose her career over her heart. Now they have a second chance. But only if they trust themselves enough to take it.
When Deanna Gordon left Marcus Stone behind to pursue her dreams, she not only broke his heart, but hers. Now she needs his help but it will come with a price.
The only thing Marcus needs in his life is to get back on the professional snowboarding circuit. Something he’ll be able to do if he buys into Deanna’s crazy plan. A plan that could cost him a whole lot more than he’s willing to risk.
After all these years, their attraction is stronger than ever and as much as she tries to pretend it isn’t real, the love between them never really died.
Now Deanna must decide whether she can leave Marcus again—for good—or whether a second chance at love is worth giving up everything.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 5, 2015Elena Aitken has written yet another gem in The Springs series and The Summit Trilogy.
The story of Marcus and Deanna is one of pure love and devotion, yet filled with conflict, misunderstanding, and often ill-fated actions. From the beginning, the attraction between Marcus and Deanna is felt by the reader and it they are quickly drawn into their web of the past and the present.
Throughout their story, there are so many sub-stories taking place. A couple is wed, another is trying to conceive, another is working through a long distance relationship. Friendships are cemented, tested, rebuilt and strengthened.
Those who have read the books in the order they have been released, will find that many characters are brought forth once again. Some have their lives fully cemented and their is closure in their story, while others arrive again for a single purpose and the reader is again drawn in by their charismatic personality and side story.
Having read every book this author has written from very early on, as well as the Castle Mountain Lodge series (definitely not to be missed) and the crossover to The Springs, Elena's writing continually gets better and better, as do each of her novels. While I have absolutely loved each and every novel or short story she has written, it is my opinion that Summit of Passion is definitely one of the best novels she has written. (Her best novella would easily be "Love Me, Love Me Not.")
Any reader who picks up any book written by Elena Aitken will not only fall in love with the story and the characters, but will always end up feel happy, satisfied and wanting to read more...
I look forward to the next book in the series introducing us to a new family in Cedar Springs.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2016When I first realized that this trilogy was going to wrap up with Marcus, I wasn't sure what to think. I hate cheaters (with a passion), and I didn't know how she was going to bring me around to liking Marcus. But he was the perfect choice! Elena did a wonderful job making me fall in love with him. I actually was more sympathetic to his character than Deanna's. I really felt the struggle he went through trying so hard to keep his feelings at bay as well as prove how much he had changed to everyone around him. This was a great read, and I look forward to reading more about the people in The Springs series.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2015I saved it. I bought it and didn't read it right away, which is what I normally do. I saved it because I NEVER want these books to end. So now I am hopefully closer to the McCormick family! This was a great read, quick and fun, with some tears. Love this author!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 23, 2015Deanna and Marcus find themselves back in the springs but for very different reasons. They had a past together that could have really turned into something but the rough ending to their relationship has left a lot to be desired.
Deanna has no reason to be in Cedar Springs other than to fill in for her dad and get out. Her parent's want her to stay but she can't imagine living in a small town and being a doctor to a town that never has any excitement.
Marcus is back taking some time away from hitting the slopes. His brother and friends could really use his help and support on the hill and Marcus is happy to do so until Deanna returns.
I don't want to say to much and ruin the story but so much happens and you wont be able to put the book down! I loved it from the very first page as I do with all of Elena's books.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2015This story has a bit of everything and everyone. Beth and Slade are back, I can't give anything away, so that's all I'll say about them. Deanna and Marcus get together for all the wrong reasons, but chemistry can't be denied. Deanna wants to use Marcus as her way our of town since her parents don't approve of him. At the same time Marcus is using her in order for her to find out what it feels like to love and be abandoned. Their misguided reasons backfire and love triumphs. Can't wait for the next book in the series, what with new characters introduced.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 8, 2022These two, a doctor who says she wants out of the small town and back to the big city. And a snowboard champeho can't decide between the circuit and designing snowboards. And then there's the small matter of the love relationship between the two. Plus a good dose of small town being for all. A interesting read for the 18+ crowd.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2015I have yet to read a book from Elena Aitken that I have not loved! Her characters are developed and they are part of a larger family of choice that is like old friends to me. I knew when I first read about Marcus that he would fall hard for the love of his life. Deanna made the perfect mate for him. I always look forward to the next extended family member so I can devour it too. You will not wish to miss Elena's style of story telling. It will warm your heart too.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 1, 2022A disappointment after reading previous book. The two main characters seemed to have a great physical connection. But little in the story tells anything deeper or why else they belong together. Rushed ending and no epilogue.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth Reading
I enjoyed this book, although I don't think it is the best in the series. Marcus and Deanna have a past attraction, and Deanna broke Marcus' heart by leaving. He is immature enough to want to break hers right back when they reconnect several years later, even though deep down he is still deeply in love with her. Quite a seesaw of emotions flow through the story!
It is a good book to read on a lazy afternoon.
