No point in re-hashing Morrissey's performance on this track. It is a nice tribute to Lou, and us Morrissey fans will [and have] lapped it up. The other two live tracks though, are not even passable as 'B' sides. Really, after all the effort in making this beautiful item, why shove 2 substandard live performances on it? Is it worth buying? Well yes, as the 12" is just a beautiful object in itself, from the retro 'Italian' Parlophone labels, to the sheer weight of the vinyl. The sound quality is spectacular, especially on the 'Your Gonna Need Someone On Your Side' track, from the re-mastered Your Arsenal. I can't wait to get the album and crank up the volume.
Ultimately it is one for the fan's collections.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid 4-track vinyl single
Reviewed in the United States on 9 February 2014
Morrissey's new single is a live cover of Lou Reed's Satellite of Love. It's a great choice by Morrissey and a very high quality recording of his performance. I wasn't sold on the song at first listen, but after playing it back, I'm liking it a lot. One has to wonder if it a studio version will appear on his next album. Up next is the first track (and one of the best) off his 1992 Your Arsenal album, which is getting a remastered release in 2014. The version here is the new remastered track, and if a reissue of the remastered album gets a full release on vinyl, I'll certainly be adding it to my collection. The sound quality is excellent and we'll no longer have to track down the original vinyl, which is very hard to come by and very high priced.

The B-side features two more live tracks: a spirited version of Vicar In A Tutu, proving Morrissey still takes pride in performing his old Smiths songs. Another high level of energy is heard in All You Need Is Me, which plays as a seamless transition between the two live tracks (they were both recorded at the same venue).

A rarely seen cover photo taken by French photographer Renaud Monfourny from his 1991 photo series, "Morrissey and the Dummies", 180gram heavyweight vinyl, and two unreleased live tracks (including one of a Smiths song), all add to the appeal of this worthwhile 4-track vinyl single. There were two other songs issued with this single release. A live version of Mama Lay Softly on the Riverbed is part of the digital download version of the single, and a cover of Buzzcocks' You Say You Don't Love Me is found on the 7" picture disc single.

4.0 out of 5 stars Le bel hommage
Reviewed in France on 26 March 2014
Sa prochaine tournée s'appellera sans doute "In it for the money" ("Par ici la monnaie").
