Product description
In the months since the Britain’s Got Talent Final, in which he ultimately came second to Jai McDowell, Ronan has recorded his first album, Ronan Parke, produced by Stephen Lipson (Will Young, Jordin Sparks). The album includes a selection of 10 classic songs. The focus track from the album is a cover of Vanessa Carlton’s "A Thousand Miles" which Ronan reinvents as his own. The piano part in the song is played by Paul Gbegbaje the young pianist from 2011's Britain’s Got Talent. Other standout tracks on the album include an original composition by Gary Barlow, "Stronger Than I Am"; Nina Simone’s "Feeling Good", Cee Lo Green’s "Forget You"; Coldplay’s "Fix You"; Kelly Clarkson’s "Because Of You" and Eva Cassidy’s "Song Bird".

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 November 2011Just a quick entry here since some like to drag on and on...
I'm grateful for YouTube since it's through them I could view
"Britain's got Talent" and every year, one is awed by how many
talented people are unknown without such a showcase.
There is no comparing Ronan Parke to anyone else; like someone
said in another review, it just would be unfair. What amazes me
is not just his young age but the maturity of his voice!
Instead of easy pop songs, he chose covers from some of the very
best in the new breed in the music business; I like to view his acoustic
clips with his buddy guitarist, no fluff, no overproduction, just Ronan
singing his heart out leaving us in awe of the potential he has.
His sense of timing, his wide range of musical capabilities and the
intense joy he conveys is something that reaches me; I'm looking forward
to hearing his own compositions and hope he won't be overwhelmed by his
popularity and good looks because in the end, it's about music and a
wonderful young man who enjoys sharing his passion with everyone.
Cheers from Canada and good luck Ronan!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 September 2015Such a lovely CD. This was recorded in 2011 when Ronan was 12/13 ish. I think some people have been put off by his young appearance and might fear what they will hear, but his voice is beautiful. Feeling Good was his breakthrough BGT song, and starts here unaccompanied.. "Forget You" his poppy Motownesque cover of the Cee lo green song. My favourites are his Big Ballads, Fix You, Because of you, Make you feel my love, Songbird, and Stronger than I am, while the remainder are also very listenable. Shame really that there's not (yet at least at September 2015) been more albums. Always difficult to make the transition from young teen star with a young teen audience to adult voice and audience. Have a look on Youtube (or Spotify) for "Cry" "Move" and "Defined" and see what this guy is capable of. He is after all still only 17, so time yet -
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 January 2013I remember how good Ronan Parke was from Britain's got talent, but I've often been disappointed in the past when these sorts of celebrity's have brought out albums. However, He's got such a great voice that I've been listening to it since I got it. The songs they've chosen to go on the album are all really great too. He does have a really angelic voice which, to be honest, I thought would grate on me. However, each time I listen I can't get over what a great singer he is. My husband thinks he sounds like a woman...but then he still agrees that he's a great singer. I think this lad will have a great future in music and I'll be buying his next album if this one is anything to go by.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 December 2013I was spellbound when Ronan Parke, aged 12, sang the Bob Dylan song, 'Make You Feel My Love' on 'Britain's Got Talent. His voice was pure and his eye was clear, but a potential disaster lay just ahead for this young man when his voice would inevitably become deeper and no-one was prepared to bet on his singing talent surviving the change.
In my view, this album reflects the sad anomaly of a boy with a golden voice: I can't identify with love songs and the lamentations of the broken-hearted - coming from a kid whose voice is still that of child and who hasn't even started out on life's road. It's a contradiction that hadn't occurred to me until I listened to this album and the only track I am comfortable with is 'Make You Feel My Love', probably because Ronan paved the way for it on Briotain's Got Talent.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 December 2011Ronan, if this is your first effort of a CD well I can't wait till the next. Your voice hasn't lost any of its quality in the studio and you belt out fantastic songs. Songbird and Fix It are my favourites but have a soft spot for Feeling Good because of Britain's Got Talent. You are a young man Ronan and have a long and I am sure very secure future ahead of you. I am a fan and will follow your progress. Well done and keep up the fantastic quality singing. Love ya xx
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 February 2014I'm more likely to listen to classical music, but the sheer talent of this lad makes the CD something I come back to again and again.
And the apparent delight he takes in singing.
The first time I listened, I found the songs over full of noise and rhythm, and samey.. but now, I wonder how I ever thought that. Many of the lyrics are profound.
But most of all, buy it for the musical talent. His ability to turn words into three dimensional sculptures, vs two dimensional paintings on a wall is stunning.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 January 2013I first heard Ronan on Britain's Got Talent and was amazed at not only his voice but his presentation of the songs he sang. This, his first CD is wonderful and covers the full range of his beautiful voice. All who liked and/or loved hearing this young man sing on BGT then this is your chance to have a little bit of him in your own home.
Buy this CD and help Ronan with his new found life.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 June 2012Impossible not to enjoy! this is an Album full of the sheer majesty & brilliance of Ronan Parke's exceptional voice.
Ronan breath's new life into a series of well chosen Covers and the 2 original songs are infused with star quality.
The back up vocals & instruments are peripheral allowing the listener to fully appreciate the depth and range of the vocals.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ein Highlight in der CD-Sammlung

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't Parke Your Brain at the door! Parke it with Ronan!
I grew up in the 1960's and 1970's. I can't remember the last time I ordered an album with anticipation as I've aged, but I was excited in my order with Ronan's first album. I was equally blown away hearing him on YouTube with the ITV talent show. The cover songs in this album were easily recongizable, but the new songs fooled me a bit. I kept thinking I must have missed some songs back in the 1970's, when in fact some of these are original songs and arrangements. Still, they made me think of my youth as I listened to Ronan sing. The whole album moved me to no end.
I especially loved the approach used with Lady Gaga's song "On the Edge of Glory"; using nothing more than a rythmn guitar and Ronan's voice full of love and spirit. Unbelievable that with nothing but two instruments, he held me spell bound with the magic in his voice. It was like no instruments were missing, as he sung Lady Gaga's song. I did see this on YouTube and I'm glad it was included on the album. While it is different from the arrangement Lady Gaga did, I love listening to different arrangements of songs and musical pieces. If I had wanted Lady Gaga singing it, I would listen to her album, but this is Ronan singing it, so I wanted to hear how he would handle it and I loved the approach. It was more subdued and brought out an aspect of the song, and who it was dedicated to, far more than the way Lady Gaga performed it I might add. I second majored in music out of Loyola University of Westchester in the 1970's and did a lot of composing in my early twenties, that is until my health started to fail at age 27 which ended my pursuit in music. So I have quite a background in the study of music, composition and appreciations as I pass these thoughts on in my review.
As the first reviewer pointed out, Ronan's voice is due to change soon, but I don't think it is his voice that fully sells him. God gave him a great gift with his voice and looks. You need both in show business to attract audiences. This is a youth oriented world no matter what anyone says. Youth sells because it has sex appeal to it. Still, such gifts would be no good unless his heart was full of the divine love that comes forth from his spirit at such a young age. He reminds me of the passage in the Bible which says; "And a little child shall lead them". I think Ronan will lead the way, even after his voice changes and it's because of the love he has in his heart and his ability to empathically connect with each song he sings empathically that will make him a "truly big star" in the end and not just a "shooting star". Time will tell, of course. The other issue is how long will he want to pursue his career in music, if the doors keep opening for him as he ages? That's a question only he can answer for all of us in the end, but for now, I'm enjoying his grand start, as are many who have heard him sing.
What I can say is that this kid has an ongoing serious fan with me, even at my age and I'm 55. I'm up in my years with poor health these days, but when I first heard Ronan sing, he reminded me, as the Universe opened up to him, that everything we recieve is a grace from God. Hard work is good to a point, but unless God has ordained the blessing in advance, it is impossible to recieve the fine gift this boy has not only recieved by those who have embraced him, but for him to give us the gift of love God gave him to help lift all of us up when we listen to him sing. Isn't that the job of any entertainer though...to help lift up their audience? I think so. I pray he keeps doing so. It will give him a long lasting career, if he never loses sight of that main reason why he is here for all of us and why we are supporting him by purchasing his finished works. So far he's got a grand family of people around him helping him along on his journey. May it continue to be so.
His first album had tears at times coming down my face as I listened to this boy sing. I've been through a lot in my life and while this may be geared for kids, the kid in all of us can identify with the songs and the way Ronan is delivering them to us with that angelic yet power filled voice of his. The power of his voice is fueled by a soul full of love and courage. Make no mistake about who this boy is. I can see him at my age and he is not invisble to me.
I pray God keeps him safe from all harm and rewards him with a rich and rewarding career and life in the music industry. He certainly is off to a great start! So please buy his album. I didn't regret the purchase and I'm nobody special, but you go Ronan! Show'em how it's done kid!

5.0 out of 5 stars UN PETIT PRODIGE BLOND EN CHARME, TALENT, QUALITE, DOUCEUR ET PUISSANCE !
Ca me rappel un certain (merveilleux) Billy Gilman. Puis s'ajoute à la superbe ballade "Because of you", deux des plus succulentes douceurs "Make you feel my love", ainsi que "Songbird".
