Meet Graham and Cat they have bee together through out the ages. Because of a curse Cat has been taken away from him time after time. When he pulls the Queen of swords, he knew that Cat would be back in his life again for the third time. He tries everything to not let that happen . But the fates bring them together. There is so much going on between them, between a roommate that makes advances at Graham and a evil fae that wants Graham for her devious and evil plans. To the evil sorcerer that wants Grahams very soul. They still find their way back to each other . They also find away to help Graham . This time around he has a secret weapon Cat and her white magic. So when the tarot cards align and let them realize their undying dream, Will they forever be happy and stay with each other ,
Nina is a new author that I am very happy that I found. Her mix of Celtic lore, vampires and undying love of two soul mates. Is a new mix that makes for a very enjoyable read. Her characters are written with such intensity that you just want to cheer for. They are tortured and you can feel their pain. The pain of loss of love and knowing that out there there is something or someone that is your missing piece.
The historical aspects of the book added a lot of depth to these characters. To know what went on in Graham's life as he fought and found Cat was great. You find out a bit of the Scottish tradition and lore . Even the history of the kilt and the clansman. I know some of you might not like that but hey I love it. Anything Scottish from men to lore make me swoon. Oh did I also say that Graham is really hot in a kilt . One of the reason's Cat is in lust with him at first, well honestly who wouldn't be .
The mixture of magic and mythology kept me reading long into the night. The Queen of Swords was well researched and well written. Nina has created a new genre in the paranormal world. So if you like , vampires, witches, Celtic lore and well Scotland , men in kilts with great accents . Check this book out. I will say you will not be disappointed . This is a 5+ star book . So check out

In Nina Mason's debut novel, Graham and Cat find one another through an ethereal pull that at first she does not understand. As the story progresses, we learn about their history and the impossible odds stacked against them. An excellent balance between external forces and internal conflicts makes this a well rounded page turner. The characters and well developed and easy to envision as well, even the minor ones.
Not only is the plot compelling, but the rich detail makes it a book you want to savour. I thoroughly enjoyed Queen of Swords and will certainly look for others by this new and talented author. Well done Ms. Mason.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 10, 2014For a Paranormal lover like me, this book was a treat! For a debut Novel, Nina Mason hit it out of the ball park. A heroine who is a practicing Witch, a Hero who is under the curse of a powerful Wizard and a powerful love that has endured the ages. The Authors unique knowledge of Tarot Cards and Scottish customs and History brought this story to life. Cat and Graham have come together only to be separated by Cat's murder twice. Will the third time be the charm? Their fight to be together is well worth the read. I highly recommend this book to lovers of the Paranormal. Great job Nina Mason!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2014Just have to say that I see a lot of promise from this author!!! I loved the concept and the story. It was edgy historical (well sort of)-paranormal romance.
Having said that, I must say that overall the book fell short in some areas. The romantic relationship between the H/h felt superficial. I was told how they felt rather than shown so I never felt a deep connection between the two. I also felt as that parts of the story should have been explored in more detail.
Overall: I loved where I thought the book was going but just felt that it never quite got there. The characters lacked enough emotion to make me feel a connection and the story fell short and lacked depth.
I will definitely follow this author and see how she develops. I see a lot of potential!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 22, 2014Wow Nina Mason I think I might be in love with you right now. This book was more than I thought it would be. It combined a past love of mine with a new love. I have always been a huge fan of the paranormal genre, and though I read a bit of everything it remains my favorite. Besides the paranormal aspect of the book it also has men in kilts which is another favorite of mine.
Nina managed to write a book that enveloped everything into one can't put down read. It has vampires and witches along with the right amount of drama and some star crossed lovers. The spells seemed realistic and believable and worked well with the story and that is actually a big thing for me when it comes to a book with witches. I need the spells to be believable for the book to work for me and Nina managed to do just that. The tarot parts of the book were some of my favorites. I loved how Cat and Graham always looked to the cards to see what their future was gonna be and if it would be differ from what they expected or thought.
Nina has an eye for detail and it's what separates this book from others of this sort. She kept me on my toes guessing and wondering what would happen next. Nothing was predictable and I loved that about this book. Each page was a mystery to me. This book is a definite favorite of 2014 for me. I don't think it will take long for others to agree once they read this book. A must read for anyone 18 and over due to some graphic content. I can't wait to see what she has for us all next.
Personal Note: I received a complimentary copy of this author awhile back from the author in exchange for my honest review. The minute it was available to purchase I had to go out and buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Re: A Tapestry of Undying Love
5 Stars for an intriguing, atmospheric and spell-binding book!
The Queen of Swords is a seductive, sinful like chocolate, smart and sinister tale of two passions Love and Hate.
The book combines vampires, tarot, witches, magic, sci-fi, and an evil wizard!
A love story for the ages for 200 years Graham, a soulless vampire has watched two incarnations of his lady loves torn away from him, he has no interest in any further romantic entanglements, but will Fate twist once more for our star-crossed lovers and the third time be the charm? Graham is haunted by his past loves, never dreaming of finding another love and never wanting one!
The Queen of Swords combines vampires, tarot, witches, magic, sci-fi and an evil wizard in a ever shifting tapestry of life through flashbacks in those 200 years, of the women he has loved and lost as they have been torn from him, to London and Paris in 1800's and 1900's now in the present. Graham has drawn the tarot card The Queen of Swords signifying that his love has returned.. will Graham turn and walk away from his one true love instead of them being torn asunder again, as a vampire he feels doomed to do this! But Cat a white witch and teacher of the occult has other ideas.. and casts a spell...
An entertaining novel full of intrigues, twists and turns! I cried lots reading this book even in the happier scenes.
Nina Mason has put together a brand new genre that is a vamptasy a combination vampire fantasy, sci-fi and time travel through flashbacks, romance an unu8sual PNR indeed. Nina Mason wields her pen to create a fantastic romance with something unexpected! Thank you Ms. Mason I look forward to many more books, no matter what genre, and I hope there are plenty more.
If you love vampires and witches then here is a paranormal read for you. 5 Stars for suspense and intriguing story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Vampires & Scottish legends meet the modern world
A sophisticated but sexy take on the Vampire genre. Was struck by the keen eye to Historical detail of Scottish history,English and Scottish slang/colloquialisms and references to classic Vampire stories, Fae and Vampire Legends. The Author Nina Mason writes with passion and love for her setting and the characters. The world and its mythology is unique and striking. It also rather sexual, which adds, not distracts from the plot. The book's antagonist is Fitzgerald a depraved, twisted Byron figure who puts me in mind of Polidori's 'Lord Ruthven' who has his own three Vampire Brides ( All be it male brides). I actually was intrigued by this aspect. One thinks it would make a fascinating spin off. The two main protagonists are Cat (the mortal Witch) and Graham (The centuries old Scottish Vamp). Cat is sweet and vast intelligent and makes us toot for her. We the readers are invited to glimpse into Graham's world, share memories of his vast years upon this Earth and feel the metaphysical bond between the lovers. Graham has been doomed to watch cat die, over and over again, while he retains the knowledge and waits for her to be reborn. Fitzgerald made a dark pact to make Graham suffer. A supernatural battle of wills, life, love and the immortal soul. A clever and enchanting novel. ***** stars. I'd give this all the stars in the sky. I enjoyed it immensely.

5.0 out of 5 stars A delectable read
When Cat Fingal sees a handsome Scottish stranger in the library, she senses an uncanny feeling of familiarity about him... but little does she know that they have met before... in another life. The couple seems cursed to be kept apart, as each time Graham and Cat fall in love, they’re ripped apart. As in her other incarnations, Cat has a strong connection to magic and her tarot cards, which aid her in predicting the future and interpreting the present, and this time she is determined to overcome the jealous seductress and the evil wizard who both want a piece of Graham—after all, it’s in the cards... right?
The Queen of Swords a well-researched story rich in detail about Scotland, both its scenery and its history. It was all the more enjoyable to read having been to Scotland myself, buying the book as a treat for my flight home. I am not usually a fan of soul mates, since their love for each other is essentially pre-destined, but Mason does a good job at maintaining the tension and uncertainty as to whether their relationship will last, and there are certainly bumps along the road to happiness (not simply because of the antagonists).
I would recommend this book to fans of Scotland, vampires and “soul mate” stories, and I definitely look forward to future books by this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Relax and loose yourself within these pages...
Definitely a well written book, encompassing a wonderful paranormal romance. Truly worth reading!!!
A stunningly beautiful tale of a love that struggles throughout time before finally finding its heartfelt victory.
I spent a long time waiting for this book to become available, enjoying the anticipation of this story and I was not disappointed. I found it spellbinding and impossible to put down.
Firstly, praise has to be given for the amount of research and work that Nina Mason must have put into the spells, tarot, magicks and the history. The details within are very well sealed into the story and flow wonderfully into the storyline.
The relationship between Cat and Graham is interesting. It is nice to see that whilst love is predominant, there is also doubt and mistrust and anger giving the characters a brilliant realism. And the hints of character traits when regarding the secondary characters is intriguing and lends a further realism to the story.
I find that the more I prattle on, the less sense I make, and so I'll just say this, if you are looking for a book that touches into many genres (historical, modern, romance, supernatural, just to name a few) then this is the one for you. You will not regret it!
