About the Author
When I was young, I wanted to be a lawyer when I grew up. But then I changed my mind because being a famous, yet totally undercover secret agent would be much cooler. I looked into it, but there weren’t many job opportunities. I concluded that maybe I should just marry well. I fell deeply in love with Agent Mulder, but he already had Scully, and I don’t share.
So, instead, I became a writer. Now I get to be all of those things and so many more.

About the author
World-renowned neurosurgeon, jet fighter pilot, secret member of American royalty, seducer of legions of beautiful, outrageously sexy angels and demons and vampires and werewolves and the occasional pirate, Lisa Fox has done it all…in her own mind. In reality, she can generally be found at her desk with a cup of coffee close at hand. Or maybe a martini. It really depends on the day.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 January 20143.5 stars. Short 'n sexy. I do like it when the traditional gender roles are set on their heads, and it's the man who wants to 'make love' and get married and have babies and the woman who's the commitment-phobe! Refreshing! I also like the friendship-into-love angle, because I find it more believable.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 April 2014'One Kiss' is a short romantic tale about the magic of New Year's Eve turning friends into the lovers they should be. Set in New York, best friends and work colleagues Kat and Dean are always there for each other.
Kat a workaholic lives alone except for her emotional baggage. She sees a lonely future ahead its safer that way she won't get her heart broken again. Dean is from a loving family and he sees his future with a loving wife and kids. He is perfect hero material, clever, sexy and totally devoted to Kat. Their relationship is strictly platonic but they still fantasise.
Kat and Dean's emotionally developed characters give the story its poignancy and depth. The chemistry between them is electric and their sexy wake-up call well written. Circumstances conspire to make one kiss at New Year inevitable but the desired happy ending seems unlikely when Kat's fears surface.
A quick sexy read full of great support characters and a tender love story a fabulous way to start any new year.
I received a copy of this book from Harper Impulse via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 August 2015I'm loving novellas at the moment. I'm not sure if it's because my son's off school for the summer and we're out and about on trips/visiting friends etc and it's hard to find time to read for extended periods, but they're definitely suiting my lifestyle. I've always preferred to lose myself completely in a book and read it in as few sittings as possible, so when time is limited these shorter reads still hit the spot.
One Kiss is the classic story of two friends taking the step towards coupledom. Kat, the sassy heroine, is reluctant to get involved- she doesn't want to get hurt again so romance is the last thing on her mind- and Dean is fresh out of a relationship with a glamorous French model. It probably isn't a good idea, but as New Year's Eve becomes New Years Day Kat and Dean don't want to be the only people on the planet with no one to kiss, their friendship takes a turn into something more serious.
I tend to like stories of friendship blossoming into something more- it's cute when a couple have history! Plus Dean was such a sweet character- if he was my friend, I wouldn't be standing by letting other women get with him! Both his actions and words had my heart skipping a beat.
However, as well as being a sweet romantic will they/won't they, there were some hot scenes in there! I remember liking the balance between sweet and sexy in Lisa Fox's A Kiss in the Dark and this was in a very similar vein- although if anything, I enjoyed this one more.
One Kiss had me hooked- a perfect way to spend a couple of hours. This sharp, pacey novella was a joy to read.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 January 2014A story of attraction whilst in the friend zone with a work colleague/bestie. Add to it the fear of falling in love with the risk of falling out later. Are you willing to risk losing that friendship for the sake of having someone to kiss at midnight?
I enjoyed reading this story late on a Friday night. It made me want to go out, party and kiss someone just for the hell of it.
The chemistry and attraction between the two was realistic and had you anticipating the kiss before it happened. The kisses were wonderfully descriptive and made you miss a good old snog or grab your partner and pucker up.
The only slight negative for me was sometimes it seemed to mood swing a bit too quickly so I got readers whiplash but it got back on track quick enough. I also found some parts overly crude for a romantic scene. I just felt that certain sentences detracted from the moment and would have been more appropriate in another scene.

4.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 Stars... Fun and flirty, Friends to lovers
4.5 Stars
My favorite part of One Kiss is at the beginning with Kat and her closet. That might seem weird, but I loved it. It made me laugh and I could totally see the chaos in my mind.
One Kiss showcases descriptive writing, believable and fun characters, aching sexual tension, fun dialogue and a satisfying HEA.
If you like friends to lovers stories with all the above characteristics packed into a novella-length story, you'll probably like One Kiss.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another great story by Lisa Fox!
Another great story by Lisa Fox! I like to reread her novellas and short stories because I always know I'll get some humor, some heart, and a whole lot of sexy in a story I can finish in a reasonable amount of time. It's like a decadent little snack.
This story took the friends to lovers trope and intensified it with a committment-phobe heroine. Loved it, and looking forward to getting through the rest of her backlist.
