- Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2021I have read many beginner-level books and very seldom were they easy enough to follow along with. Other books often used more advance technical terminology or jargon that was not well explained to the reader. Not only is this book easy to grasp, but it truly is geared towards a beginner. Even those who have been in the marketing industry for some time can benefit from reading this. The book is not a cookie-cutter marketing guide that teaches you a one-size-fits-all approach. In other words, it is not an unrealistic guide that gives a generic series of techniques or terminology for marketing that promises success in the industry. However, the book teaches the reader to learn from real-world mistakes that cause failure as a marketer and how to avoid such obstacles. Because of this, I find it has a deeper connection than other books I have read because it is more relatable I found the terminology in the book to be very accessible and easy to pick up on, especially for somebody without much of a background in marketing. As someone looking to start an online business or someone who cannot figure out why their products aren't selling online, this book is very helpful. I highly recommend this book to anybody wanting to learn more about marketing, especially in the ever-changing digital space.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 7, 2021Marketing is something that is often overlooked, especially by small businesses without sizable or perhaps any marketing budget, and is not always easy to understand and execute because it involves things like understanding customer motivation and storytelling which are hard to get right. This book is a good distillation of what marketing is and is not. If you learn these concepts, you’ll have what you need to get started or to learn more. I think it would be useful to have some case studies and examples of what marketing campaigns look like end-to-end, but it covers the basics in a concise and accessible manner, and the most important thing is to learn just enough to get started.

All throughout, there was a lot of "duh, why didn't I think of that?" and no doubt, this book gave me a clear plan of attack for each stage of the strategy building.
