‘With her characteristic humour and insight, and her ability to draw from all fields, Chantal Burns has written the book we all need now, from global and corporate leaders to grassroots activists and everyone in between. We can each contribute to positive change on Earth, but we must understand how positive and sustainable change happens in each one of us first.’ Ami Chen Mills, author of The Spark Inside and State of Mind in the Classroom;

host of the Moment of Truth with Ami Chen Mills radio show and podcast

‘No matter how messy life gets, bulletproof shows you how to keep calm, carry on, get sh*t done and feel great doing it! To know that whatever comes our way, we already have everything we need is a game changer and that’s what this book will give you.’ Hannah Carter, CEO and Founder, OGGS

Instant Motivation: The surprising truth behind what really drives top performance
In 2012 I heard for the first time the 3 Principles. It was from George Pransky. Since then I have tried to understand the meaning and usefulness of Sydney Banks famous 3 Principles. I tried many ways to get a good grasp of this philosophy at no avail. Whenever they explained how Syd understood his own insight/discovery, I honestly got lost. When different authors made their best to convey how positive, simple, practical and powerful his ideas were, I felt very dry and void any sort of hint of what they were talking about.
Chantal Burns has done their job on a very easy, understandable, full of examples, and down to earth explanations of what I now know is the backbone of my current understanding of life, my entangled past life which became, clear and confident, and my current one, which for the first time I am really enjoying. I can recommend this book without hesitation, confident that whomever read it, will soon rather than late get a deep and at the same time, a simple and objective understanding, both intellectually and emotionally what is like to wake up in the morning, go to work, and once I am working, not only perform it, but enjoy it and at the end of the day, no matter what the circumstances or results we obtain, the only one thing that matters is that the day was worth living. Seek no further, If you want to get a very good idea as well as what to do to practice the 3 PS read a well written and full with down to earth examples, of how she and her clients have done to live a meaningful life and I will not be surprised at all if you can also live from the inside out. Before I read this book, I was certain that it will take me a lot of time as well as a huge insight to begin living by the Principles. The reason they are there is to live them and Chantal will guide you as to how she does it as well as what she explains and shares to her clients. The books title is the proper one, One of the benefitd I get is Motivation, and I can experience it almost Instantly. This book delivers what the title suggests. It instead we have life and her book is an invitation to get out of our little and mediocre comfort zone and dare, Dare to be wrong, in the dark, would life have a purpose, sense, beauty and above all be the best of being part of this universe. I will not trade mine for anything. Thank you Chantal, you saved a man that could had become a living death, and above all regretting not doing what I am daring today.

For ANYONE interested in the 3 principles this is by far the best book I've read that explains it so your head, heart and gut all agree! There are some wonderful books out that that leave your heart and gut in alignment but somehow the wish to 'understand' keeps your head/mind wanting to take charge and lead alone. Every other book out there will make more sense, be a difference that makes the difference, AFTER reading this book... the second time through it even more fun!

If you are familiar with Syd Harris's work on mind, thought, consciousness, then it is along the same lines, just from a business perspective. I love these types of books dealing with our "inside'ouside" world. Once I immersed myself into all these types of books my life became easier and more enjoyable. Other books that are similar: "Do Nothing," "Somebody Should Have Told Us," "The Inside-Out Revolution," "Clarity," and any of the books by the late Syd Harris.

If you want a view on how life works, really operates, pick up one of these. My favorites are Do Nothing and Somebody Should Have Told Us.

A reader rated this book with one star, arguing that the book boils down to proposing that a person think positively. This reader didn't understand anything he read. It is enough to read the extensive commentary he wrote to realize that this reader has a full head.

In her book Burns shares the inspirational stories and game-changing research that will change how you think when it comes developing a motivational mindset. The goal of the book is to teach you experimental ways that are guaranteed to improve your personal will power, live a happier life, and develop a strong mindset that will improve your performance significantly. This book is structured into 2 separate parts and is best read from front to back all the way through.

For your convenience, I had Chantal Burns on my podcast, The Entrepreneurs Library, to give a deep dive on Instant Motivation. With Chantal’s experience she gives amazing insight on what it takes to unleash your true performance. If you would like to hear a real review from the author herself check out episode 172 at theELpodcast[dot]com/books or you can find the show on iTunes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worthy of repeated reading
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 16, 2015
This is an important book, worthy of repeated readings. There are powerful truths in the words, and beyond the words, as Chantal Burns’ explanations lead to a deeper understanding of oneself and how we perceive the world around us. Her research shows a fascinating disconnect between what we COMMONLY think is the source of stress at work, in relationships and life in general, and the FACT of where that stress actually comes from. The truths are subtle and easily missed or misunderstood, hence reading the book again, and again. Motivation can be instant, and since it is a thought-based state of being, it is no wonder that the book’s main emphasis is on Thought and thinking. It is wonderfully refreshing to have no methods to learn, techniques to apply, or practices that fall by the willpower wayside.

Chantal's client stories and personal experiences make this book highly readable. I’ve already recommended it to managers and CEO’s and also to friends who aren’t in the business world.

I've just finished reading Chantal Burn's awesome book "Instant Motivation" and can definitely see myself going back to it time and again with fresh eyes. I've been exploring the 'Inside-Out' paradigm for a little over a year now and have since then voraciously read through many wonderful resources by Three Principles practitioners in the community, however Chantal's book really stood out for me as it was so easy to read, simply structured, it flowed really well and for once I was able to share what I was reading with lots of friends and colleagues in the workplace without getting weird looks when I try to fumble around explaining the principles and state-of-mind! So much so I got 10 copies to share. The feedback from all has been the same, many for whom this is their first experience of a Three Principles book. It's sparked many deep conversations. Don't be fooled by the simplicity though! It really packs a punch cover to cover and the take-aways and insights keep percolating long after!

5.0 out of 5 stars Take your time with instant motivation
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 8, 2015
My only reservation about this book is that the title doesn't really do it justice - there's much more to be gained from reading it than instant motivation. The author has done a brilliant job of bringing the 'soft science' of state of mind into the hard-nosed world of business, describing logically and clearly what it is that really motivates people, what drives and hinders performance and, ultimately, what makes for a happy and successful personal as well as professional life. My recommendation - read it slowly. Take time to reflect on the implications of what the author is highlighting. Let it sink in & you'll be rewarded with some powerful insights that will transform your understanding of how the human mind works.

I really enjoyed the metaphor of inside-out thinking, and how thought is the driver of action. I would recommend this book to anybody who feels like their environment controls them, and they have no power to change that.
