Executive Biography

With more than 30 years of leadership experience, Tammy Martin knows that positive

organizational growth happens through people development. Her professional path has

established her as an expert in talent management, leadership and people development, human

capital strategy development, organizational interventions, managing the HR discipline,

facilitating teams, program and project management, and business integration, analysis, and

improvement.

Prior to her retirement from international communications, media, and

technology leader AT&T, Tammy was responsible for the human resources

strategy and execution in the company’s Mobility & Consumer Operations

division in the role of Vice President, Human Resources. Prior to this role,

Tammy led AT&T’s Talent Management team for over seven years, a role

she had held for two years prior at BellSouth, before AT&T and BellSouth’s

merger in 2006. During her time in these roles, Tammy implemented her

people-oriented leadership skills to make great strides in leadership,

strategic mentoring, and organizational development and performance.

Tammy has held numerous senior business partner positions at both AT&T and BellSouth. She

has been a valued member of the leadership teams in sales, marketing, customer care and

technology. During the merger of the two companies, Tammy spearheaded the development

of communication and change management strategies throughout the transitional period. As a

people-centered professional, Tammy’s experiences in the communication industry have

shaped her into a respected leader and esteemed mentor for many in the industry.

While at AT&T, Tammy served the Women of AT&T and was one of the National Executive

Advisors for AT&T’s oxyGEN Employee Resource Group. Outside of AT&T, she was active in

numerous leadership forums, including the Atlanta CHRO Leadership Forum and the Georgia

State Leadership Roundtable. She also served on the board for Leadership UGA.

Before she began her 30-year journey in the communications industry, Tammy held

management positions with Scientific-Atlanta and The Red and Black. Tammy graduated from

the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication in 1984 with

a bachelor’s degree in Journalism.

Although she counts many achievements in her career as blessings and memorable

experiences, one of Tammy’s most treasured accomplishments was co-leading the AT&T

Women’s Council, and subsequently serving as a leader for AT&T’s Executive Women’s

Leadership Experience.

Tammy is passionate about working to shape the many leaders in the professional world, and

she continues her work of developing current and future leaders through her coaching and

consulting firm, The 5 Eleven Group. Tammy has a genuine desire to help others find the leader

within themselves, and she continually dedicates herself to working alongside those who wish

to lead and encouraging them throughout their journey of planning and developing their

unique skill sets.

When she’s not educating and coaching groups and individuals, you’ll find Tammy spending

time with her husband and son, volunteering her time at her church and community in

McDonough, Georgia, traveling, or soaking in the beauty of the outdoors. Tammy has a love for

baseball, a deep appreciation of music and arts, and a heart for encouraging and uplifting

everyone she encounters.
