About the author
Heather Hart is an internationally best-selling and award-winning author with over fifty books in her portfolio. Her articles have been featured in magazines and online. Heather has also spoken to small groups in person and thousands through podcasts, radio shows, webinars, and other online events.
God has given Heather a heart for ministering to women of all ages and helping them grow in their walk with Him. Her goal isn’t to teach women how they can do more, be better, or achieve perfection, it’s to point them to Jesus. While she is an introvert by nature, she can’t contain the message God has laid on her heart.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 14, 2012If you are not yet receiving 4-digit royalty payments every month, this is the book for you. Heather Hart's Book Marketing 101: Marketing Your Book On a Shoestring Budget provides a complete collection of book marketing tools that are FREE (my favorite word!).
The thing I liked the most was the way that Heather tied all of the tools together. Quite a few (many most?) book marketing books present lists of techniques that appear to be stand-alone and not really tied to each other. This particular book stands out in my mind by tying all of the tools to act in unison and create a central theme for the author. Heather's book struck me as a rock-solid marketing plan for the new author who is bootstrapping it and needs more than a collection of unrelated book marketing tools. If you are a new author, you will probably want to use every single one of these tools.
IMHO, a new author can't pick a better starting point when creating a marketing plan than this book. Well done Heather!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 22, 2015I purchased this book and another (Self-Publishing Books 101). Both were very helpful. Comparing the two, Book Marketing 101 is less comprehensive than Self-Publishing Books 101. It all depends on where you are in the writing/publishing/marketing process. If you are looking for marketing info only, buy Book Marketing 101. If you are in the early stages of writing, buy the other book. With either book, you won't be disappointed. I hope to adopt many tips when I promote my book, "The Scheme." Thanks, Heather!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 25, 2014Worthless! There is hardly any helpful information in this thin book. Here is a sad quote: "There are entire books out there that have been written solely about the use of social media in marketing your book." [I thought that a book called Book Marketing would be about marketing a book not alerting me to look for a more helpful book.] My favorite tidbit of worthless advice was to print bookmarks and send some to your "Aunt Emma." "Why not send her a letter letting her know that you are a published author?" This is amazingly worthless advice. I can't believe that it is found in a marketing book.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2014This book is full of great advice and tools. I especially liked the section on developing t h e marketing plan. I recommend this to any author.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2014This is a short guide to book marketing, which is well-organized and informative. It very thoroughly covers all the things one can do to sell a book, including internet options, organizations, posters, and business cards.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 18, 2013This is another book that will lead the way for you when publishing your own book Heather works with Shelley Hitz. Together they are the writer's dynamic Duo.
