- Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2020Aimee was a young woman getting ready to start her life as an adult by first attending Oxford University. Her mother, Loretta, had just married some billionaire and had whisked them off to England to live. But before Aimee is supposed to start school she had a summer of fun planned while her mother was on her honeymoon. But her plans were busted up the minute that Alexandre was presented to her as a chaperone for the summer. It was as if they thought she would be out of control if no one was there to stop her. That first night she managed to get out of the apartment and live it up but things got out of control the minute she got back. First Alexandre stole her clothes and phone while she was in the shower. Then he made sure that she could never leave the apartment by shutting things down. He told her she was his and no one else’s and it would stay that way. But when their parents came back from their honeymoon he up and left her high and dry. She was so upset that her first few weeks in school were just a routine of waking up, getting dressed, walking to classes, and then coming back home to go back to bed. She lived in a zombie like state until a girl named, Phoebe, interrupted her routine. She spilled all to Phoebe on what had happened that summer so Phoebe decided to take her out on the town. They visited a club that Alexandre hung out at and by coincidence they ran into him. He took umbrage to Aimee kissing some random guy she met at the bar that he had him escorted out. When Aimee realized he was responsible she tried to confront him but she was not allowed passed the barrier. But her friend, Phoebe, managed to slap Alexandre herself for the slight to her friend. Eventually, Alexandre could not hold out any longer and had to have the girl he was falling in love with. There were ups and downs including a Christmas dinner that was thwarted by Alexandre when he presented evidence to Loretta that forced her to divorce his father. That evidence almost cost him Aimee but in the end everything worked out the way a true romance should.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2018This was a stepbrother/sister romance. It was an ok read. I didn't have a huge connection to the characters, but could relate to the situations. I have read other books by this author and liked them too.
Overview. Aimee was getting ready to go to college at Oxford. But her mom decided to get married. Michael was a nice guy. He had a step son named Alexander aka Lex. Lex and Aimee didn't meet till their parents were heading out the door for their honeymoon. Lex was a few years older but not wiser. He was known as the playboy. But once Lex seen Aimee, he knew that they were meant to be together forever. Aimee thinks Lex is a jerk, but a very hot jerk. The bond over the summer while their parents are gone. But drama comes to a head with Aimee's moms past and who and where they belong in the future.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2015I was not sure what to think about this story as I first started to read it. I didn't know if he was an abusive man trying to have his way with a young girl or if he really cared for Aimee. I kept read though and am glad I did. Though it was rough for me to get through the first part and into the few chapters of the second their story began to unfold. I was so surprised by the turns her life took and how Lex managed keeping their relationship the way he did. It is a definite five-star HEA endind.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 26, 2018This book was more than just your typical stepbrother read. Lex was so much more and wanted more between him and Aimee.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2018I really enjoyed this story of Lex and Aimee. This story is really romantic. There is ups and downs like most good stories, but worth it. The writing and flow of this book is done well. Do recommend it.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 21, 2015Totally excellent story. I read this when it was several different pieces, and I really enjoyed all of it. Their relationship is smoking hot, and the twists and turns in this story are just superb. Definitely pick this up if you are a fan of billionaire stepbrother romances!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2015I gave it two stars for the attempt. From the beginning it started confusing. The parents leave for their honeymoon leaving the grooms son to watch over the bride's daughter for the summer. This being the FIRST time either of them met. He tells her she is going to be his forever, then steals her clothes, phone, etc over the next several weeks, basically holding her captive. Her resistance, if you can even call it that seems fake, and she falls in line pretty much right away.
I think the author wanted to have a power struggle between the alpha male and the girl but was so poorly done it just resembled nonsensical banter. The secret mystery was too predictable. The ending was too rushed as we're the sex parts.
The author had a good idea. It might have been a better story had she developed the characters better, as there was cautiously none there, and if the author spent more time writing the story and developing the scenes more.
I got the book for free. Would have been annoyed if I had to have paid.
