Until now, this genre was not in my library. I was more the murder mystery, crime drama series reader. I started reading Aphrodite's Secret and found myself hooked almost immediately. The book was not full of excess fluff that bored me and it kept me intrigued throughout until the end. I am sooooo looking forward to reading an entire series to see how the characters play out. This is a must read for anyone who is a fan of this genre and a great place to start for those like me who thought you weren't a fan. Urban romance is not just for the yuppies when you have authors like this writing who can keep you turning pages just to see what happens next. It is well written by a new artist and I am glad to see that there is still new talent out there that can let us get lost in our imaginations for a little while. WOW, what a book - can't wait for the next one.

It was a quick read, but it was fun and was hard to put down. The many typos, misspellings, left out words and incorrect character usage was a little distracting and annoying, but this was my side read between two books I'm currently reading, so it was a nice escape. The ending wasn't as good as it could have been and once the antagonist was dealt with, it ended abruptly. The other exciting parts of Kaira's new life were overlooked and questions about her new life were left unanswered. Overall, it was a fun read and Samantha Kettleman did a good job. I would give her next book a go!

Aphrodite's Secret grabbed me immediately. Samantha Ketteman kept me turning the pages. It starts out with the birth of our MC to the lovely goddess Aphrodite. The poor innocent babe is taken immediately and then we fast forward in time 24 years.

We now have Kaira (the baby) all grown up and working as an exotic dancer. It all seems so mundane and ordinary until we have the fact that she... nevermind I can't tell you, if I do then I will spoil the book for you, so what I will say is that enter screen right HOT MALES!!!

I loved Kaira, I loved Zane and I love the friendship between them. I love the paranormal aspect to this story, and the powers and the enemy in this story is... well can't tell you that either but he is one heck of a bad guy!

I give this book 4 stars and I recommend it to anyone who loves paranormal romances or basically anyone who enjoys a fun story. By the way this author has definitely created a world which will suck you in. The world is so highly detailed that I could easily see the strip club and the people. Much love for this author for this work!

*Note to Author* I recommend a run through by an editor again, there are quite a few grammatical mistakes and double words or phrases. All in all, it did not detract from the overall story however. I just thought you would like to know my opinion on that issue.

A fantastically fun read! Mrs. Ketteman tells the tale of a girl whose life has been hard, her relationships have been scary, and who is just doing what she can to make it through, until Zane walks into her life. I love that the bad boy love interest in this book is not perfectly handsome and even has a few insecurities of his own. It was a breath of fresh air to read about characters who are just not perfect. Kaira is a stripper, Zane's an outcast with a physical defect, and Jasmine is the perfect comedic relief with her sassy and goofy personality. Greek mythology is not a unique concept, but Mrs. Ketteman has managed to twist the link between the main characters to Aphrodite, Zeus, and Persephone into an interesting story that kept me riveted from beginning to end. I'm impressed that this was the author's first novel, and can't wait to read what comes next.

I love this genre anyways, but I have to admit I was starting to get bored with the "same 'ole--same 'ole" type story lines in every other book. It was just getting old.....until Samantha Ketteman came around! WOW is all I can say regarding this book!! I couldn't even begin to think of a way to entwine the worlds of Mythology and Paranormal Fantasy together....but Ms. Ketteman definitely hit the nail on the head!! Once I started it, I couldn't put it down. I fell in love with all the characters (well, most of them) and I can't wait to continue on the journey into Jasmine's story. In fact, I found myself a little sad as it neared towards the end of the book because I didn't want it to end!! This author has got some SERIOUS talent and I can't wait to read more by her!!

I couldn't finish the book. One, there were too many errors. Jasmine asked something but she wasn't even in the room or in the scene. Grammatical errors like
"You're boobs poked me". Very repetitive. One chapter ends with the girl's viewpoint and the next chapter starts with the man's viewpoint, same scene. To some, this might be okay. So this part is a matter of opinion. Please, get a proof reader and fix the errors.

I liked the story and the characters. It was well thought out and interesting, but appeared to lack proofing and editing. The constant errors of words omitted or the wrong word used was very distracting. This author has great potential, but she needs HELP! Without those issues, I would have given this book five stars. Aphrodite's Secret is a cross between Pretty Woman and Clash of the Titans then wrapped up into a great little story. The pages just flew by! I thought the characters were developed well and interesting. I liked Kaira and her feisty friend Jasmine. Zane was strong and endearing in his role of tortured soul bad boy.
It's kind of like an Adult-20-Something's Percy Jackson and the Olympians - where high school is instead an exotic dancer place called Diamond Darlins. I'll be looking for the next adventure awaiting Kaira and Zane.
