We Own Tonight

Rate this book
I’m not a one-night stand kind of woman. I’m especially not the woman who has a few drinks at a concert and ends up in bed with my childhood celebrity crush, Eli Walsh.

However, that’s exactly where I find myself.

What’s a girl to do after a drunken mistake? Run. I grab my clothes and get away from the powerful, irresistible, and best-sex-of-my-life superstar as fast as I can. His gorgeous green eyes, rock-hard body, and cocky smile have no place in my world. My life is complicated enough.

Someone forgot to tell him that.

Eli is relentless. Pushing his way into my heart, wearing me down, proving he’s nothing like I assumed, and everything I need. But when my world shatters to pieces, he holds the broken bits together. Unwillingly, I fall desperately in love with him.

He made me think we’d have forever... I should’ve listened when he said we could only own tonight.

5 stars!

“Let go for one night.”

Corinne always writes the best emotional books. She’s one of the authors I turn to when I want an ugly cry. We Own Tonight is a bit different than her other books in that respect. It’s emotional at times, but it’s much lighter in a lot of ways as well. It’s safe to say that Corinne can do more than just emotional. This book made me laugh, made me smile, and yes- made me tear up once or twice. It was a fantastic read!

As teenagers, we all had that one boy band and that one person in that band we were a bit infatuated with. Mine was Brian Littrell from the Backstreet Boys. I was a bit obsessed. Posters on the walls, screaming his name at concerts, a tee-shirt with his face on it. I’m not even embarrassed, because I figure most of us had this little obsession going on when we were young. The heroine of this story, Heather is no different. Heather loved Eli Walsh. He was her Brian. Now Heather is grown, divorced, and going to see Eli and his group in concert with a few friends. She never, in a million years could guess that she would connect with Eli and have one night with him.

I LOVED the start of this book. The premise was one I hadn’t read before and I thought it was great. Eli and Heather have such a connection and epic one night. Heather’s life is complicated, though. She can’t have a relationship right now. Not even with the elusive Eli Walsh. Eli is persistent though. He’s not wanted anyone the way he wants Heather in a long time. Eli is hard to say no to, and even harder not to fall for…

Sweet, sexy, swoony, a lot of fun, and just enough emotion to give me all the feels I need in a book, We Own Tonight really hit the spot for me! A 5 star read I highly recommend!

➦After reading numerous books by this author I quickly became a fan of her angsty but at the same time uplifting stories. Looking at the cover and the blurb of this particular book I was expecting something lighthearted and, being a big fan of romance reads with celebrity heroes, I decided to get my grabby paws on this book asap.

➦If you are fond of famous hero falling for a regular girl tropes then you might very well enjoy this book. The heroine is a cop and she's not into one night stands. Until one day, during a concert, she catches an eye of a singer and indulges in a night of passion with him. Then she runs... and he chases.

➦I have to be honest and say that the first half of the book was really easy for me to get through because it was fast paced and fun, for the most part. But then things took a different turn and, while the book was aiming at being angsty, I found it to be verging on depressing.

➦A lot of events seemed to be revolving around the heroine and I needed more character development of the hero. He was very sweet and caring and very perfect. May be a bit too perfect for my liking. Not really sure why this happened and I wasn't able to connect with the characters on emotional level. I might have been in the mood for something more lighthearted and fun. If you're a fan of angsty reads and celebrity tropes then do give this one a look!

❤5 BEAUTIFUL STARS ❤

"I'm not pushing you away I'm just living in reality."
"The only reality is the one we make."

Omg this book was so good, I devour it.I fell in love with the story from the beginning and the characters were so well developed. The plot was brilliant, it's not like most typical rock star romance, this one is so much more. It's a little bit heavy but also at the same time funny, sexy and sweet.

"We're not perfect, baby. We're just perfect together."

Eli and Heather have become one of my all time favorite couples.I couldn't stop myself from falling in love with both of them.Eli is a swoon worthy hero.He is smart, sexy and funny.Heather is strong heroine.I loved her and I could easily connect with her. They have an amazing chemistry, I enjoyed all their moments.

Corinne Michaels has become one of my favorite authors, and I can recommend all her books because they're simply amazing.I love her writing and her stories are beautiful and unique.

If I didn't have to rate a star, I wouldn't.
I'm gutted and angry at the moment, and I'm about to let a biga** rant fly free. So...if anyone has an aversion to a less-than-stellar review, don't get mad at me if you read it. Also, I may or may not SPOIL something (assume may, for safety's sake), so that's the warnings out of the way.

I waited for this book for so long and I'm truly distressed. I reckon it's stupid to be so upset. because it doesn't do any good. Who should I direct it towards? The writer? No, I respect a person's perogative to write what they want, even if I don't agree with not warning of things that may be an actual issue for a reader.
No, I'm actually furious at whomever it is that decides it isn't my God-given, money-paying right to be SPOILED while taking part in a pasttime I rely on for escape! Wtf is that, that I preorder on a go-to writer in good faith and get the rude shock I got today?
This has happened too much this year. I don't ask for much, but I have a tiny handful of hard limits in my romance books. There aren't many, but they are a big deal to me. And there are some 'realities' that writers use, ya know, trying to be 'real' that, hello! some people DON'T want to read or have possibly experienced to some degree and therefore would appreciate a warning if they appear! Such as

**SPOILER****SPOILER****SPOILER****SPOILER**

The super swoony, hot hero you're about to go mad for turns out to have an awful, debilitating disease that will shorten his life. The H and h only get an HFN.
In a few years or even months, that disease will in all likelihood render him helpless and a heartbreaking burden on the woman who adores him. She will get to watch his vitality fade as he declines, and have a front-row seat to his humiliation and agony until he dies without a scrap of dignity left. She will be left to mourn him, empty of hope and endlessly grieving. She will undoubtedly live out what's left of her life a shell of who she was, regretting on her worst days ever having met him. Yep. How uplifting. What an epic escape.

End (potential) spoiler.
Is that too 'real'? Sorry. But it IS real and I. Dont. Want. To. Read. About. It!!

Swear to god I'm starting a blog of my own and you can bet there will be spoilers all up in there.

Acytually, It's been a stretch of bad books for about a month now, so I'm thinking it's time for a looooong reading hiatus. When you're afraid to start another book, it's time.

And sorry, Ms. Michaels, but you're no longer a one-click for me. You understand.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

I think every girl has wanted a night like Heather had in We Own Tonight, especially when you were younger. I was a HUGE N’Sync fan, HUGE! I loved Justin Timberlake and who are we kidding I still do! So tonight when I was reading this all I could think about was when I saw N’Sync in concert when I was 15 and swore he sang directly to me! Then I thought holy cow what if I got a chance to see them again now, what if he pulled me out of the crowd, OMG! OMG!! Legit that would be AWESOME!

Okay, so let’s talk about Heather and Eli. As you have probably gathered Heather is a huge fan of Three Blocks Down, a boy band from her youth, and Eli Walsh. Heather and her girlfriends get a chance to go see Three Blocks Down as adults and Heather is introduced to Eli. During their time together they have an epic one night stand and Heather runs.

Eli isn’t one to back down from something he wants so he pursues her. What starts out as infatuation develops into more and I truly fell in love with their story.

I thought this would just be a fun, quick read, but hello it’s Corinne! Corinne always delivers more and this story is more! At first, I thought Eli was just a fan pretty boy, but by the half way point I was totally sold on him and loved him. Now Heather, I pretty much loved her from the start, she is compassionate, giving and a strong female. These two together are complimented each other perfectly. Their connection felt genuine and by the end, I was convinced it was so much more than a teen infatuation.

We Own Tonight is a super fun read but also has a ton of heart and soul. I loved how these two got to know each other and how they proved themselves. It melted my heart and like all Corinne’s stories brought tears to my eyes. This story is fun and it’s a quick read, but it’s also MORE! It will melt your heart and make you feel. Trust me you will be happy you picked this one up!

Can you picture you’re favorite boy band of all time? You know the one you’ve spent countless hours singing along to their songs while screaming at the top of your lungs. That feeling you always get when when their lyrics reach right into your soul and becomes a soothing balm for whatever you’re going through at the time, or whether it’s just a feel good high, your favorite musical band will have that type of impact on you and for Heather Covey, “Four Doors Down” is no different.

After working hard for so long and taking care of sister, Heather Covey is finally ready to let her hair down and have a night out with her girls. It doesn’t hurt that her night out consists of seeing her favorite boy band of all time and her teenage self is doing a happy dance as we speak. So now she’s having a good time and singing g along to every word when the unthinkable happens. The lead singer locks eyes with her and not only pulls her on the stage, but he serenades her. My heart would’ve flattened at that point but the being the trooper that she is, Heather manages to keep it together. For a little while at least. What happens when your teenage crush offers you the night of your dreams? YOU TAKE IT!

“We can’t worry about tomorrow, we can only tonight”.

Eli Walsh can do it all. He loves being an actor but there’s absolutely nothing better than singing your heart out on a stage for screaming fans who loves you. He’s seen it all at his concerts from hysterical fans, to women literally throwing themselves at him but he’s never met a woman who’s made him lose his breath from just looking at her. That’s exactly what Heather Covey did to him and getting to know her just became Priority number one in his book. But with a broken past and an imminent loss in her future, getting her is not only going to be a task, it’s going to be the biggest life lesson on love, loss, and strength.

I really loved how each character was so different and they held their own when it came to being a part of Heather’s circle. Eli was one of those characters that you couldn’t help but fall for him and I liked his creativity when it came to being with Heather. But on that note, I couldn’t really connect with them as a couple and the emotions that I was supposed to feel with them, sadly didn’t come through for me. I liked everyone individually but together? Something was just missing for me. If you’re a fan of this author and you love a swoon worthy hero, this one is for you.

Teaser used is from the author’s fb page.

Fans of Corinne Michaels are in for a treat with We Own Tonight! A sweet, humorous and emotional romance that anyone who has ever crushed hard is bound to feel deep in their bones.

We Own Tonight begins as four best friends venture to a concert to see Three Blocks Down, a band from their teen years. Heather never imagined that singing and shaking her thang at a concert would capture Eli’s attention, but it does. After her sexy romp and a panicked escape, Heather finds herself the object of Eli’s attention. And a man like Eli has never had to chase down a woman, let alone to convince her to give him a shot.

If you were anything like me, a teenage girl with glossy posters pulled from the pages of BOP magazine plastered on their walls… then you know that fantasy. The one when the boy of your dreams pulls you up on the stage and in just one look, falls madly in love with you… Yeah – that fantasy. With the set up to this story, I felt an instant bond with these girls. And I mean who didn’t imagine that you were the girl that Donnie Wahlberg pulled up on the stage and sang Cover Girl to?

But if you’ve read CM before, you know that you’re not just getting a cute romance. This woman likes to torture you a bit with the feels. Eli being in his forties, a little rough around the edges from being burnt in the past is looking to put a little effort into getting Heather to give him a chance. While relaxing with a few weeks of downtime before returning to the set to film his TV show, post-concert tour, Eli is bound and determined to get Heather to let him in just a bit.

I was almost certain that with Eli I’d get this guy that lacked a little depth. That he’d make you swoon at the appropriate times and get you a little angry at others – but he was full of surprises. He melted my heart instantly - he and Heather paired so perfectly.

Overall, this story was one that will stay with me – I think a lot of that has to do with being able to feel so connected to Heather and her gal pals. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book that allowed me to feel exactly like the MC before. Corrine nailed it.

The take away from this story was to take a chance and to live. Life happens, horrible things occur day in and day out, but the biggest tragedy is to not live your life out loud.

5 "Once In A Lifetime" Stars

WOW.....I ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ this book. It was such a beautiful story and was told perfectly. From the very beginning to the very end, the characters embedded themselves into my heart. This book was Full of Feels....from laughter to tears, from fear to hope, and from pain to love, the feels were all over the place.

Boy Band, Girls Who Love Them......Fast Forward 20 years......Boy Band Reunion Concert, Girls who Love Them Still.......But.......Things Are About to Change.....In The Most Unexpected of Ways.

I think everyone can relate, when they were young, to a member of a singing group that you fell madly in love with. You were gonna be that "Mrs" and live happily ever after. It's a right of passage growing up. But what if years later, you meet that crush and it becomes something? Can you put yourself out there when you have baggage that would make any man run? What if you had a best girlfriend reminding you to "live a little, let loose" and "just have fun"? Can you put yourself in the moment and just feel?

Eli Walsh, the sexy, handsome boy band singer, and tv star, and Heather Covey, the feisty, beautiful police woman who had a crush on Eli, meet at his concert and make a connection. And that connection sets up fireworks and feelings. But these two don't belong together, they live in two totally different worlds. But what happens when the heart works around the brain? Can Heather be won over by Eli to give "them" a chance?

This courtship of Eli and Heather is just pure old fashion romance. With sweet, fun, sexy words, the author has created two flawed characters that find each other in the madness of their lives. These two complement each other perfectly. Their banter, their relationship with family and friends, created the right timing in finding each other. They are 38 and 42. Each have pasts and presents that aren't perfect. But together, they discover happiness, along with sadness, that creates an invitation of hope for a future. There are moments of delightfulness, sadness, tenderness, trepidation, fun, and love. It's a story that brings all your emotions front and center. There are some very emotional parts to this book. Prepare to have Kleenex ready.

What I also really loved is how the author created family and friends that created an added depth and realism to the story. There is no shying away from real life. There is love and divorce, sickness and health, bestfriends who love and support you, family and even tragedies. Because life isn't perfect and everyone must navigate the waters they are given and hopefully find a partner who is loving, giving and supportive no matter the odds.

Eli and Heather are a forever couple. They will make you smile, laugh, cry and feel. This is a book for romance lovers, contemporary lovers, for lovers of HEAs with fun and emotional storylines, and really for all lovers who believe that dreams can and do come true.

We Own Tonight was sweet perfection!!!! This book was laughter, romance, and emotions packed up into one stunning and beautifully well-written love story. I honestly don't want to spoil anything for the readers because this book was a true gem. Corinne had me devouring this book in one sitting as every woman out there can relate to Heather.. Yeah, it made me think of my New Kids On the Block obsession!!! So you can say, Corinne definitely brought back memories for her readers who can relate to obsessing over a pop star. All in all, this book was utter bliss.

I read the dedication in this book and thought, 'YES! This story is going to be just my cup of tea,' and I was absolutely right. The crux of the narrative is middle aged female protagonist somehow attracts the attention of her teenage heartthrob. Total fairy-tale romance; complete and utter escapism involving my very own teenage fantasy. I loved every minute, swooned my way through pages that are brimming with so much fun, very sexy times, serious issues and a dusting of perfect, beautiful emotion. I laughed, I felt and I confess, I cried a tiny bit.

An effortless read that drew me straight into the heart and soul of the romance with characters who are super easy to love and a narrative that made my heart happy. It’s a touch overtly sweet in places but completely fitting to the style of the story and characters. A story which despite being light hearted and funny, has a serious side. A side that explores the difficulties people face in life. These difficulties allowed the protagonists of this story to shine even brighter and Eli, the gorgeous hero, to showcase his many wonderful attributes in the most glorious way.

I finished with an intensely happy and contented heart, the sign of a gorgeous romantic story, and would highly recommend to all lovers of the romance genre.

Over the last few years, I've fallen in love with many of Corinne Michaels' books. She has an addictive writing style and writes sexy romances that always have deep feels! They're wonderfully balanced reads and I always look forward to her new releases. So when this book came out, of course I couldn't wait to read it and, unsurprisingly, I loved it!!

The heroine of this story lives a life filled with responsability. As both a police officer and caregiver to her ill sister who she'd raised, she frequently and openly gave everything of herself to others with little else left for herself.

When her friends finally convince her to go out with them, they drag her out for a night of carefree fun to a concert, but she gets a little more than she'd bargained for.

I do everything I can not to stare at him. But… I can’t help it. He’s too beautiful to look away from. I watch the way his chest heaves as he dances around the stage in perfect sync with the other guys. How his eyes scan the crowd but still make every woman think he’s looking right at her. It’s magnetic. He’s ridiculously sexy. Even in his forties.

As a teen, she'd crushed on this band. Now, nearly two decades later, their concerts were just as fun to her. But then something unexpected happened... The lead singer spotted her in the crowd. In the sea of screaming fans, their eyes connected and something passed between them. He serenaded her in front of the entire audience and begged her to come see him after the show.

“Will you be my once in a lifetime?” he asks…
I know this is the damn routine.
I’ve seen them in concert at least four times, twice in high school and twice in college, but I’m completely lost to him. There are over twenty thousand fans here, but in this instant… it’s him and me. A girl can dream.
His hand brushes against my cheek as he hits the final note. He helps me stand and then pulls me close. “Don’t go anywhere after the show,” he whispers in my ear.

She couldn't believe that this larger-than-life rocker would be interested in her but she couldn't deny their connection so, having found some courage with a few extra drinks, she went to meet him. However, after a magical few hours together, suddenly her responsibilities made her realize that as much fun as she was having, she couldn't have this life. So, she ran. But, for the first time in a long time, he'd found a woman he didn't want to let go of and he relentlessly pursued her -- trying to convince her to give them a chance no matter how different they were.

“I’m serious. I want to know more about you,” he pushes for more.
“Why?” I ask with frustration. “You and I both know how this goes.”
He grips the back of his neck and lets out a heavy sigh. “How is that?”
“You’re going to go back to your lavish life, and I’ll be here…” I gesture around the room.

They were undeniably polar opposites. He was wealthy and famous and seemed to have everything, while she liked her privacy and lived in a run-down home her parents left to her because she couldn't bear to let go of this last piece of them. Between her job and her sister, she was tied to her hometown, while he frequently globe trotted on tour and jobs. But on a personal level, they just clicked. And no matter what obstacles came in their way, he proved to her over and over again that she could trust him with her heart.

“Why are you fighting so hard to see me? I’m clearly pushing you away. What is making you keep coming back?” I ask.
He stops, rushes back up the stairs, and pulls me close. “Because you’re not like every other girl. You’re the first person I’ve met in what feels like forever who doesn’t seem to want something from me.” His hand pushes the hair back off my face. “You look at me like I’m just a guy, not a meal ticket. You’re gorgeous, stubborn, and there’s something more that I can’t explain. I’m not saying this will work, but I’m willing to take a chance and see what this is, are you?”

But... he was keeping a big secret from her. It was life-changing and heartbreaking, and he just couldn't bear to tell her. But eventually of course, the truth had to come out... I don't want to spoil anything for you but I will reassure you that it has a beautifully heart-warming epilogue at the end. So dive right into this book and enjoy the ride.

This book has a little bit of everything -- it's sexy and fun, sad and heartbreaking, swoony and romantic, and has very addictive writing. I read it in one non-stop sitting and loved the ride. For fans of rock star romances, opposites-attract love stories, and swoony heroes, this is definitely a book you should check out!

Rating: 4-4.5 stars. Standalone Contemporary Romance.

I liked this book very much. Although the heroine is 38 and the hero is 42 years old, this is a fairy tale, "a teenage dream becoming real 20 years later" 😊

Heather is a cop who got divorced 5 years ago. Eli is a musician who was an idol of teenagers when he was in a boy band called Four Blocks Down and although the band still makes music sometimes and goes on tours, he is now basically an actor.

Eli was also the teenage crush of our heroine Heather and today, she still watches his series on TV religiously.

Eli never married, and in one serious relationship he was involved in, he got betrayed by the woman he loved.

Eli doesn’t do any serious relationships now because of this disappointment but he is not the playboy the tabloids make him appear to be. For the first time in a long while, Heather attracts him more than anyone else and although he kind of starts as casual, he soon understands that he wants a relationship with her.

I’m not quite the playboy everyone has made me out to be. Sure, I’m not known for being a long-term relationship guy, which I blame on the bitch, but my public persona and the guy Noah, Randy, Shaun, and Adam are friends with are not the same. I’m different on stage or behind the camera. I look the part they’ve created—a bad boy with women in every town. It could be true, but it’s not. I don’t know what it’s like not to always be putting on a show, but the other night with her, I felt . . . normal.

Heather has lost a lot of things & people in her life. She lost her parents and her sister is very sick and dying. Her husband left her because she needed to take care of her sick sister and he wanted the maximum attention from her (yeah, selfish prick!).

So, both Eli and Heather had worthless exes before; that is why, they are both vulnerable and fragile.

Eli is a total sweetheart. He worms his way through her heart easily and slowly breaks all her defenses.

“I know you’ve been hurt, but I won’t hurt you, Heather. I want to be the guy you can count on. I’m not sure how to make this work. But I’m not going to let you go. Not without one hell of a fight.”

Eli is sometimes too good to be true. There have been times I craved for “one Eli” for myself, as well !!! I mean, really... where do they grow/sell these awesome men? Can I have one, too, please?😊

The book focuses on building trust and then a long-lasting relationship between two very different characters, leading two very different lives. Although Heather pushes Eli away for a while after her drunk one-night stand with him, when she sees he is serious with her, she gives in and then, they both make a very adorable couple.

“What do you want with me ?”
His eyes are open, allowing me to see all his emotions. “More. I want more.”
“And what if you realize I’m not worth more?”
He shakes his head. “What if you’re worth it all?”

***

“You can’t be this perfect, Eli.”
He laughs. “I’m far from perfect, baby.”
“You’re kind, funny, and unbelievably hot.”
“Don’t forget a God in the bedroom.”
I shake my head. “ Egotistical.”
“Keep going with all my stellar qualities,” he nudges.
Instead, I lean forward and touch my lips to his. “Don’t make me think you’re great and then break my heart.”
Eli’s fingers thread in my hair. “Don’t make me keep fighting so hard to win you.”

Heather’s friends, especially Nicole, contribute a lot to the story, mostly humor-wise 😊.
The little niece of Eli is an angel and Heather’s sick sister Stephanie is also a very sweet character.

Although makes the hot and fun story a little bit sad for a while, on average, this is not a depressing book. On the other hand, it is sweet and emotional.

There is a surprise chapter at the end of the book (surprise because it is a missing chapter of the book) and also a bonus scene if you subscribe to the author's page, so make sure you read them both 😊

QUICK TIPS:

Hotness level: 3,5/5
Romance: 4,5/5
Sad parts: 2/5
Dark: No, none
Safety: No cheating
HEA: Yes
Writing: Dual point of view

One criticism about the beautiful cover of the book:

The cover model Christian Hogue is a real hottie and is always a good choice for a cover, but the fact that he is 25 years old and our hero in this book is 42 years old didn't sit well with me while I was picturing the hero in my mind.

"My once in a lifetime..."

This is a great story line about a girl's teen crush actually coming to fruition! Eli was the star in all of Heather's dreams so naturally, she's seen his band in action a few times. Her and her friends go see them again even though they are all in their thirties!

This time it's a little different...Eli "sees" her and has her brought up on stage so he can sing to her. Heather's blown away to say the least and with a little convincing from her best friend, she gives in to a one night stand.

Eli's shocked when Heather runs off...literally. He's never had that happened before so of course, he has to run after her. This only intensifies things for him and the chase is on and he always gets what he wants.

description

Heather doesn't know what to make of Eli when he keeps hounding her. Her life is really complicated and she doesn't have time for him. Luckily, he doesn't give up and they spend more time together getting to know each other. Eli really wants her to know the "real" him.

I really enjoyed their romance but holy cow, my heart really went out to Heather. She went through some tough things not only with the first whammy but with the second one too! Fortunately, she's one strong cookie.

And I loved how all their friends and family joined together and gave Heather (and Eli) what she needed. I LOVED what happened two years later...like I said, Eli always gets what he wants! ;)

Eli's band members were quite interesting as well and I wouldn't mind a story or two about them!

Also, there's a link at the end of the book for a deleted scene. It's really sweet so don't miss out!

I've loved Corinne Michaels' books in the past. I loved how she writes angst and her books about family and friendships has always been winners for me.

Unfortunately, We Own Tonight missed the mark for me. I tried to like it since it had all the right ingredients to be the kind of story that tugs at your heart and makes you ugly cry but it didn't work for me at all. I didn't feel anything for the characters, which always spells trouble.

I'll try to fully explain everything in my upcoming review...

“It’s reckless to be with a man that will never stay, but I don’t have the energy to care. Right now, he’s here. Right now, he’s real. Right now, he’s kissing me. And for right now, that’s enough.”

“We can’t worry about tomorrow, we can only own tonight. And tonight, I’m going to make sure you never forget how good we are.”

“My life has always been a series of misfortunes, but I’ve never allowed it to define me. I may feel like I don’t have a say in how things go, but I can decide how I want to deal with them. I’m a fighter, and I won’t let anything stand in the way of the prize.”

Waiting for We Own Tonight to hit my kindle was like waiting for Christmas morning. I was on pins and needles waiting to get my greedy hands on this book. And I’m here to tell you that it was sooooo worth the wait!

From the moment I picked up this book, I was swept away into a captivating world that only Corinne Michaels can create. Her words and brilliant writing, weaving their way into my mind, ensuring that I would devour, but not miss a single word.

We Own Tonight is impossible to not fall in love with. I loved the rock star romance story line and couldn’t get enough of Eli. At first he seems like your typical rockstar, but I am here to tell you that there is so much more to this man than what meets the eye. He is relentless, fun, demanding and sweet as hell. Being with Heather rocked him in the best way possible and made him want things he never knew were important. And Eli entered Heather’s life at the best possible time. She had the weight of the world on her shoulders and was a devoted sister, but never ever took time for herself. Being with Eli was the first selfish thing that she had done in 5 years. Try as she might, she tried to fight the pull between herself and Eli, but the pull was too strong. I loved watching Eli pursue Heather and I loved seeing Heather come back to life.

We Own Tonight is brilliantly written and is a heartwarming romance. It is a story about devotion and hope. It is a story of loss and heartache. It is a story about living and never wasting a moment. It is a story of forgiveness. It is a story about the epic kind of love that only author Corinne Michaels can deliever. It is a story that will remain long after you hit The End.

As soon as I finished One Last Time, I started this one because it's about one of Kristin McGee's best friend Heather Covey and actor / singer Eli Walsh. I like their story. It was romantic and slightly emotional. I didn't shed a tear but there's one part that made me sad.

Heather Covey is a policewoman and divorced from her lieutenant ex-husband. Among her best friends Kristin, Nicole and Danielle, she's the most serious and barely hangs out for fun. She's busy with her career and takes care of her chronically illed sister, Stephanie. But when it comes to their favorite boyband's concert, she'll make it an exception because she'll see her crush Eli Walsh. Their meet up was so cute! If I were Heather, I'll be fangirling and scream with joy. Post concert, they had one night stand but she has no time for relationships.

One- they're both from different worlds. He's a celebrity and she's just an ordinary citizen whose job is to protect people and two - her sister is her number one priority. However, Eli was persistent dating her. Just like Noah Frazier, he's a sweet guy and wants more than a one night stand. He continuously proved that he really like her despite of her issues. Eli was more than just his fame. He's a great man and she can't help falling for him.

Like I said, I like their story but I prefer One Last Time. Heather and Eli may have a happy ending, it's just that the ending fell flat and Eli's secret? I don't know what to feel about this: Not that I'm dismissing it, it just didn't mesh well on the story. It's not a huge conflict to me but why is it such a big deal here? I think it will be more stirring if Heather's ex-husband will try to win her back. As always, fab narration by Andi Arndt and Zachary Webber. 💗

Final rating: 3.5 / 5 stars

What a book.

Luvd this so much. I 've never read this author before. I had heard loads of brilliant things about her so I had to give her a go. I m really not disappointed at all . I just luvd everything about this book. The writing and story was just perfect I couldn't get enough of this book. The characters were amazing. Eli was just he's sexy caring and just great. I did like that he was a lil older it made a change from having a young stud. Even though he could give any young guy a run for there money. Even though he is older he still lives life like a young rockstar. He's single loving his work has a actor and still touring with his band. He still had woman throwing themselves at him and he loved it. Being in his band with his brother and best friends made it easy even after all these years.

Heather's life hasnt been easy other the last few years and things were still a lil crazy. Her life was her sister she meant the world to her. Only things were still not perfect for Heather and Stephanie life was a fight for these sisters. I wanted to cuddle Heather so much through out this whole book. I understood why she was the way she was life just kept kicking her arse. She has a job that was hard being a cop wasn't easy working with her ex husband was even harder. One thing Heather didn't have was spare time but her best friends were always there to make sure she did. This made things a lil easier for Steph she wanted her sister to have life and not being looking after her.

Free Image Hosting at FunkyIMG.com

It was great to see Heather come out of her shell she needed it so much. Eli was the perfect man for her I could see the change in him straight away. This woman made him want a different life even after someone had made him not want a relationship. They both needed each other in some ways and they brought the best out in each other. Being smoking hot together also made things sassy for them. They couldn't get enough of each other. I luvd them so much.

This story has twists I couldn't deal with I was a total mess from this book. Heather had to deal with so much like I said I wanted to cuddle her so hard. I would highly recommend this book. From the start to the end it was just amazing I couldn't get enough. I need to read more from this author after this book.

It's for those who were once in love with the big star from Hollywood and what would happen if their dreams come true.

I really liked the beginning, it was fun and quickly pulled me into story. Then I have ups and downs with this book, but still 4 stars because I liked it, just not loved it. It really has everything, it's funny, sexy, romantic and heartbreaking, so I can not really pinpoint why I'm not in love. Maybe it was that none of the topics was so well developed that I could feel and live through it with them.

What I love infinitely is the best friend of the main heroine, Nicole. She is just crazy and all the way fantastic. I would not mind to read her story.

more soon

I love Eli so so much!!! Just when I thought I had a favorite guy all picked out, in waltzes Ellington and blows that theory up. Gah!! This was perfect. I legit wish I could kick my ass for not reading this sooner. I read the last two books in this series of standalones and knew I needed to have them all.

What I loved:
It’s a childhood fantasy come true. Heather loved him as fan her entire life, so a chance meeting at a concert blew her away. And Oh My Gah!!! I loved it.
The main characters are fabulous. Heather is real, relatable, and a girl I’d like to hang out with. Eli is EVERYTHING! Sexy, down to earth, and totally swoon worthy.
The writing is amazing as always, but what this author does so well is combine a brilliant love story with an emotional punch in the teeth. I cried as much as I loved, but I absolutely loved every single minute. It’s a perfect combination of everything I love.....emotional and sexy.
The cover is aces and the audiobook narration was sheer perfection.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

***3,5 "My once in a lifetime girl!!!" stars***

“We can’t worry about tomorrow, we can only own tonight. And tonight, I’m going to make sure you never forget how good we are. When you want to run away, I want this to be what you remember.”

It could have been you!!!! All of you!!!!
Really, guys!!!! Does not every single one of you had, when you were young, a secret or not infatuation with a music star??? Yep, I think everyone had some crazy feelings for someone famous whom didn't really now him...
The difference between us and the heroine was that that old dream became a reality, many many years later!!!! Intriguing right???
But to be totally honest here, the beginning of this book didn't thrill me that much, but then the things got better, much better!!! Even emotional i can add!!!! Especially near to the end!!!

Well, Heather is 38 years old, a cop, she is divorced and all her world is her younger sister, Stephanie, who is sick!!! Heather is kind of lonely and ... untrusting!!!
Her three girlfriends and her partner Brody, are the only people that she allows near her...
So, these friends are forcing her to go to a concert from their favorite boy band once upon a time and Heather's life as she used to know, is going to change forever....
A one night stand with a hot famous singer and her running away from him is the beginning of a new chapter in her life, because Elli is going to chase after her, no matter what...

“I'm not pushing you away I'm just living in reality."
"The only reality is the one we make.”

Elli seemed very shallow in the beginning and his attitude was bothering me, because he was 42 years old now and it was weird for him to act like he was still twenty!!!
But then, abruptly he became someone else and i liked his character very much and his insistence toward Heather was drool worthying!!!

“And what if you realize I’m not worth more?”
He shakes his head.
“What if you’re worth it all?”

So, there is a hope for those two when their worlds are miles apart???
When Heather has so many responsibilities with her sister???
Will Elli sticks around no matter what???
And what is he hiding???

“I thought I knew what love was, I didn’t have a clue until you.”

Well, those two were cute together... but i wasn't very connected with them for the most part of the book...
First of all, it was weird that Elli was still in a boy band at his forties... Isn't it??? If he was a rock God, i would accept it easier!!!
Then, everything betwen them was moving really fast...
Elli was a supposed womanizer but he got infatuated with Heather so fast.... Maybe it was because of her rejection in the beginning???
From the other hand, Heather was a little infuriating with all these fears of hers... I can understand, but it was unnerving in a way!!!

“Why do you have to be so perfect?” I ask.
“It’s only because you’re meant for me. I’m not perfect, baby. We’re just perfect together.”

I have to say that near to the end the book became really good and it showed us that the feelings between them were real... Very real...
And that real love can stick together no matter what!!!

I also have to add that i loved this crazy woman, Nicole, very much!!!
Randy and Savannah were awesome!!!
And i loved Stephanie's letters for Heather so much!!!!

"Thank you for being my Mister and not Momster." {Stephanie}

Well, this was my first book by Corinne Michaels and it was really good!!! I'm sure that will follow more by her!!! It was a good start!!!

"I told you before that we could only own tonight, but that was bullshit. I'm going to won all of our days, nights, and every tomorrow."

*I want to thank the author for providing me a copy of this book!!!*

Cast your mind back to your teenage years when you had posters of your favourite boyband on your bedroom walls. I always had a favourite member of the band who I put on a pedastal and day dreamed about marrying. I felt connected to their music and felt like I knew them. And all this was before the internet changed the whole celebrity scene.

Heather was one of those girls in her early teens, in love with the band Four Doors Down and in particular the lead singer Eli Walsh. Many years later she is in her late 30’s, divorced and has a busy life working as a police officer. Heather’s friends drag her out to a Four Doors Down concert for a bit of enforced fun.

The same guys are in the band but now they are in their 40’s, time has not altered their level of hotness though, in fact Eli is even hotter. When Heather catches Eli’s eye and he pulls her up on stage, she had no idea the this would be the catalyst to them having the hottest sex of her life. Seriously, the man she daydreamed about as a teen just blew her mind in the tour bus! However, instead of basking in the after glow she ran.

‘I’ve never spotted a girl in a concert like that. It took every ounce of self-control not to stare at her all night. There’s a pull between us, and I know she felt it.’

Eli Walsh is not a relationship kind of guy, there has been no shortage of beautiful women in his life but there has not been that special someone he has wanted to commit to. However, he is getting to an age where settling down and having children is something he is starting to think about, he loves being an uncle to his brother’s children.

When Eli spots Heather in the crowd at his concert he feels compelled to meet her, she is beautiful but there is something else about her that ignite’s his interest in a way that no one has before. The attraction is instant and the sexual chemistry between them is ridiculous, they share an intensely hot ‘coupling’ and then she runs.

Women usually run to Eli, not the other way around and this woman in particular is not one he wants to let go of. Lucky for him he is in town for a few weeks and sets out to find her, to convince her that they need to explore their connection.

“Then what do you want with me?” His eyes are open, allowing me to see all his emotions. “More. I want more.” “And what if you realize I’m not worth more?” He shakes his head. “What if you’re worth it all?”

Heather has a crazy busy life, her job is a big part of that but she also has some personal things going on in her family that she dedicates all her spare time to. Eli Walsh knocking on her front door just complicates her life even more, shame her body is not on board with her mind though.

This was a story filled with so much swoon and sweetness. Eli was like a cuddly teddy bear and just the sort of guy that Heather needs in her life. She has had to be strong and shoulder so many burdens over the years so letting someone else help her carry the load is not easy to do. This is a story that left me with a very happy heart.

“I wasn’t living before you. I was waiting.”

We Own Tonight was a great read. I expected more but overall I enjoyed it. Heather and Eli’s connection was too insta for me and the primary reason why I didn’t felt their connection. Also the little twist towards the end was unnecessary.
Heather’s friendship with her close friends Nicole, Kristin and Danielle was the highlight for me along with Eli and his relationship with brother Randy and his kids.
That’s also why I’m going to read the other books in the series because the love and support from these women was wonderful. They made me laugh and feel good.

We Own Tonight is the newest addition to the fabulous Corinne Michaels' book library. It's a standalone romance that solidifies that Corinne lives off the tears of her readers. I know before I even open the book that I will cry. Usually more than once or twice. With We Own Tonight, I cried three times before I hit the halfway mark! Now, they are not all sad tears. There are tears of happiness, tears of joy and tears of laughter, too. Corinne always delivers the goods. She's one of those authors where you just have to trust her. Trust that she's going to give you what you need. Trust that she's not going to let you down. Trust that she will eventually lift you back up. This story is different from her others. There's a whimsical feeling in part of the book. It's nostalgic and I had serious flashbacks to my childhood. There is also a strong cord of family and friendship that runs throughout the book. Heather is a cop. She's dependable, responsible and never finds time for herself. Her friends drag her out for a girls' night and she ends up drinking too much and comes face to face with her childhood crush. Hot damn! Eli Walsh is perfection. He's over forty (thank you, Corinne!), sexy and talented. There's something about Heather. He's rich and famous, but he's never met anyone like her. She runs, but he's not going to let her get away. He's going to use his million dollar smile and his endearing sincerity to win her over. Heather keeps her heart hidden away for a lot of reasons. She doesn't have time in her life for complications. And Eli Walsh is definitely a complication. As it turns out, he might be the best complication to ever live. Will Heather be able to let down her walls and finally let someone in? Can Eli convince Heather he's just a regular guy standing in front of a girl asking for a chance? I can't even express how much I loved this story! It has everything I love in a romance. Fun, sexiness, humor, loss, pain, love, lust, family and friendship. Eli is sexy, funny and romantic. Heather is a beautiful, funny and a kick ass cop! I loved that they are older and wiser! It's wonderful to read a grown up romance! God never gives you more than you can handle. You just have to be open to accept your fate.

“Then what do you want with me?”
His eyes are open, allowing me to see all his emotions. “More. I want more.”
“And what if you realize I’m not worth more?”
He shakes his head. “What if you’re worth it all?”

My body twists, and I scoff. “You’re not a cop. You play a cop on television.”
“I have a badge.”
“It’s fake.”
Eli reaches across the seat and puts his “badge” on his lap. “Doesn’t look fake to me.”
I roll my eyes. “We both know that’s not real. Also, impersonating a police officer is a crime.”
“Are you going to arrest me?” Eli asks with a coy smile.
“You’re not worth the paperwork.”

“We can’t worry about tomorrow, we can only own tonight. And tonight, I’m going to make sure you never forget how good we are.”

This book. This. Freaking. Book! I don't even know how I have my heart beating inside my chest anymore after reading this. Eli Walsh (aka God's Gift to Women) is LIFE. He's just... EVERYTHING. Actually, both Eli and Heather stole heart and owned my soul. I couldn't even count the times this book managed to make my stomach hurt from laughing or tear my heart out from so much agony or bawl my eyes out or even giggle like a damn teenager. We Own Tonight is the absolute definition of FEELS ALL OVER. I swear, if you looked that word up in the dictionary, it should have the gorgeous mug of Eli Wash beside it, staring at you with those smoldering eyes and that cocky smirk. It would take a long time before I get over this one, no doubt.

“You’re more than just a guy to me. You’re a man who reminds me that I’m a woman. You look at me as if I’m special, and that’s difficult to accept. More than that, you’re a guy that I spent my entire life dreaming of, but right now, you’re real.”

Eli Walsh is TO DIE FOR. He's certainly the sex god and the sexiest man alive that the tabloids has identified him as. The hottest singer in the boyband, Four Blocks Down, and the most sought after actor in the TV show, A Thin Blue Line. But off camera? Oh my goodness, I can't even. All of the sweet spots, his out of this world romantic side, those vulnerabilities and subtle insecurities that he constantly battles inside himself will utterly knock you off kilter. The way he chased and pursued that blonde he saw at the audience of his band's concert whom he just couldn't shake nor get off his head will make you green with envy over her. And then add all that major hotness that he is and that filthy mouth he possesses? Oh, yes please! I was a goner. It's just impossible not to fall for this man. He's the perfect package rolled into one. The Prince Charming you've dreamt of and asked for your whole life. I couldn't even remember how many times I've died and gone to heaven reading this because of Eli Walsh. I LOVED HIM—everything that he is—and I couldn't say that statement enough. May it be his musician self, his actor self, and most especially his Ellington self. You'll offer up your heart and ovaries on a silver platter to this guy right here. Trust me. There's no helping it.

“I think you make me feel like no one else has. I know that I want to give you things I’ve never given anyone else and make you proud to know me. It’s a foreign feeling.”

Heather Covey is a cop who got dealt with a pretty shitty hand at life. She tugged at my heartstrings and shattered my heart more times than I expected here. Yes, she also managed to make me giggle and squeal uncontrollably right from the very first page of this book. I believe this woman made all our teenage dreams of getting it on with our biggest boyband crush come true. She was so damn relatable that I was able to see myself in her shoes on multiple occasions. But I also can't even begin to fathom everything this woman has gone through. She had so much loss and heartache and pain in life and yet, she powered through it all like a champ. She's so real and unbelievable. I look up to her and the kind of strength and courage she possesses. Seriously, my nail beds are a complete mess by now. I think I've bitten through them after Heather made me see the extent of how heartbreaking and nerve wracking and cruel life can truly get. That it's not all sunshine and butterflies. And I'm pretty sure I want to have her and Nicole as my besties in real life. Those two are the epitome of trouble, but they're also the iridescent rainbow to someone's sky.

“Eli breathes life into a heart that was deflated. A heart that never thought it would beat again is once again thumping at a steady pace.”

We Own Tonight is so much more than just being about having that life long dream to have the happily ever after you've always wanted with your teenage crush come true. It's everything and more beyond that. It's a book I found myself so completely lost in. Expect heart spasms and intense palpitations, laughs, tears, giggles and just a truckload of feels.

“We were one heartbeat, one breath, one moment in time where there was nothing other than us.”

Corinne Michaels, you've left me in awe and truthfully, a bigger mess than I already was before reading this book. You freaking blew this one out of the water. Eli and Heather's tale is definitely up there as one of the best reads I have of 2017. I can't. I'm still reeling over everything that I've read until now. To say that this book is a must read is truly a vast understatement. Just do it. You can thank Corinne for writing this and sharing Mr. Multiple Orgasms Walsh with us after you meet him.

I really tried to get into this book, but I just couldn't. I tried for days, picking it up and putting it back down again and I've come to the decision that this story just isn't for me. I don't like any of the characters and I don't care about their story. All I knew going into this book is that it follows a celebrity: Eli Walsh, and that's enough to intrigue me right away: I love books that follow actors. Come to find out, he's not so much an actor really, but he's the lead singer in this boy band that's having a reunion concert, and our main character Heather used to be a huge fan of him.

I guess what I love most in a romance in the angst and the build up, and then when the couple finally admits feelings or gets together, it's the greatest feeling ever. But in this book, they were having sex by page 36, and there was absolutely no build up. The main character Heather is so insanely insecure, it was driving me crazy. She constantly has to remind the reader that she is only average looking at best, but of course Eli thinks she's the most beautiful fucking thing hes's ever seen. He literally says "You're beautiful" and she responds by saying: "I'm average." I can't stand girls like that, like how about just say THANK YOU and move on? Quit being so insecure when he's telling you how beautiful you are. This book is just full of cliche after cliche, and I couldn't connect with any of it. I don't like how when they first meet, Eli's only real intentions are to get laid, he doesn't really care about her until she leaves shortly after their hook up and he's confused because "they never leave" and he's always the one asking the girl to leave, and all that egotistical bull shit. So it's because she damaged his ego that he pursues her, and then they have conversations like: "So tell me Heather... who are you?" And her response: "I'm just me." Like oh my god, I eye rolled so hard. I thought it was so cheesy how our main girl character is a cop, so of course she just happens to pull over Eli, like I'm sorry I can't. And you're telling me a police officer wouldn't notice if her own license was missing? I find that incredibly hard to believe. For a female character that should've been a total bad-ass police officer, this book makes her look like an idiot. I also don't love how Eli seems like such a money-hungry asshole when he's negotiating his contracts with the tv show he's on and they want him to take a pay cut cause he's "easily the highest paid actor on the show" and he's just like "I don't care, not my problem", it just makes him seem like such a diva and it really bothered me.

Huge thank you to Corinne Michaels for sending me a signed copy of this book, that was incredibly sweet of her, but this book was just not for me.

"We can’t worry about tomorrow, we can only own tonight. And tonight, I’m going to make sure you never forget how good we are. When you want to run away, I want this to be what you remember.” ❤️

4.5 stars!

I was kindly provided with an eARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Corinne is one of my favorite authors and for a reason. Her books have the whole package. They are sexy, swoony, they wreck you to your core-cause she just have to make you cry, khm 😏...and I love that because it's not just something superficial that you read; it sticks with you, makes you think. I love to feel when I read and her writing does that to me.

This book is just that. When I started reading I just couldn't put it down. I think that all female population can relate to Heather and her silly friends and their infatuation with boy band cause we all had that. We all fantasized about that one member of the band. And for Heather that was Eli. And her craziest dreams come true.
And OMG, Eli! 😍

"Eli Walsh is ridiculously sexy. Even in his forties. He’s aged so well it makes me wish I were a guy. They have it so much easier than women."

The chemistry between these two is amazing. 🔥

"There are no words. I’ve been tasered, and this is more electric. Every inch of me is humming. I want this to never end."

Eventually their connection and attraction becomes much more, even though they both been through so much, they decide it's worth the try.

"Loving another gives them power, it can be beautiful, fulfilling, and as easy as breathing, but if I lose it again, it will destroy me."
