Editorial Reviews
Acclaimed singer/songwriter Rachel Platten's wildly anticipated new album is Wildfire. The album includes the triple platinum single, "Fight Song", that dominated U.S. radio charts throughout 2015, and the new hit single, "Stand By You", co-written by Rachel along with Bleacher s Jack Antonoff, Joy Williams and Matt Morris.
Completely engaged with her audience, Rachel commented via social media to her fans in the fall of 2015, "As I finish my album, I've been feeling overwhelmed with gratitude for all of the love and support you have given me. I'm so excited for you to hear all this new music!! You are the reason my dreams came true this year, and my album would not be complete without you."
Following the release of Wildfire, Rachel will embark on her first ever headline tour, "The Wildfire Tour," beginning in Dallas and crisscrossing North America wrapping up in Los Angeles.
Rachel Platten has firmly solidified her status as an up and coming voice in pop music today.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2025She is a very good singer and really like the songs on this disc
- Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2016Rachel Platten is no slouch. You may think she's a one-hit wonder with her major-label debut single "Fight Song" ripping up the charts, but this album proves she can produce a consistent album that is glossy, personal, natural, and relatable all rolled into one. This is not the overly robotic, emotionless pop you hear from too many contemporary record producers - it's a record built on anthems, intimacy, and personal struggle. Taylor Swift, take note: There isn't a song on here that isn't good or better, which makes this an album to play on repeat. If a single weak link can't be identified aside from one specific lyric, it shows a bright future for an artist like Platten.
On a song-by-song basis...
1. "Stand By You" - An empowering concert anthem that, as the title implies, covers an intimate relationship in which you will always be there for somebody. It's sweet, it's glossy, and it makes you crave that kind of love. "Even if we can't find Heaven, I'd walk through Hell with you..." just gets me. A great pick for a single. 10/10
2. "Hey Hey Hallelujah" - The kind of song you'd assault your microphone while singing, it's groovy, catchy, edgy, sexy, and, well, ruined by Andy Grammer's deeply stupid, completely out-of-place shoutout to Jeff Buckley. Seriously, Mr. Grammer, what the hell is that? Do you even know what the song you're singing on is about? That ridiculousness aside, this I'm-going-to-prove-it-to-you song rocks. 7.5/10
3. "Speechless" - A sexy, intimate song about making out and having no words for it. It's slick and sexy, and Platten's voice sets the mood perfectly. This is a surefire hit if released as a single. 10/10
4. "Beating Me Up" - A song about an all-consuming relationship in which the singer is far too emotionally invested to the point that she enters a period of darkness when he lets her go. She wants to let go too but can't. Another great vocal performance here. 9/10
5. "Fight Song" - You're here because you heard this song somewhere and were empowered by it in some way, most likely. There's a reason this ripped up the charts - it's about personal struggle and overcoming the obstacles in your way. Oddly, it can even be applied to the bedroom, but its universal appeal makes it so anyone can enjoy it. A great single choice. 10/10
6. "Better Place" - This song is so cute and bubbly and Platten is really feeling the love here. In contrast to some of the slicker songs on the album, this shows off her range to great effect. A great track that may not translate as well to radio, but its contrast to other singles may make it a huge hit. 10/10
7. "Lone Ranger" - Going lone wolf feels satisfying sometimes. While this isn't the most satisfying tune of the sort, it still is satisfying. Platten's vocals help. 8.5/10
8. "You Don't Know My Heart" - A breakup song dissing a significant other for not recognizing the struggles afflicting the singer. Good vocals again and slick production work together to effectively deliver the apathy towards this ex. 9/10
9. "Angels in Chelsea" - A beautiful, empowering song about the observation of others' struggles coming to an end. Just remember: Things will get better even in times of darkness. 10/10
10. "Astronauts" - This song is about... space. No, not the outer kind of space. Inner space. "We're only one triumphant bang away from resting in infinity or darkness or some brighter place" gee, how subtle. That's what makes it so great. The songcraft is impeccable here, even if the theme is obvious in a way that makes it kind of funny. 10/10
11. "Congratulations" - I don't get why this one is buried so deep in the album. Yet another great vocal performance that shows off sadness and sass at the same time. She really owns congratulating a jerk on breaking her down in a depressive way. And it's awesome. 10/10
12. "Superman" - This is very effective thematically as a closer. Uplifting and sweet, it's about reconciliation in a tough time, realizing that lofty expectations are unrealistic, and recognizing that maybe, just maybe things will work out after all. Yet another great vocal from Platten and tying everything from the album together. 9.5/10
Aside from cutting Andy Grammer loose, there isn't anything Rachel Platten could have done to make this a better album. It's a very strong major-label debut that should produce several adult contemporary hits that hopefully translate to Top 40. This truly is a nearly perfect modern pop album and it's one that many artists out there should attempt to emulate in theme, tone, production, vocal performance songcraft, and pretty much everything.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2016This is a great album! Rachel Platten is a really talented vocalist, and her songwriting is just as good. Her vocals especially shine on "Speechless," a sexy song which has a great backing beat, but would be just as good acoustically. "Superman" is an example of her excellent songwriting. I really love the honesty in her lyrics. The first two singles "Fight Song" and "Stand by You" are inspirational anthems, but she shows she is just as good at edgy songs like "Congratulations." There's something for all pop fans on this album. Some songs are more R&B, some are more country, all are well-written and catchy. Some are sensual/sexy, but there are none that I would feel uncomfortable with my pre-teens listening to. I really love "Hey Hey Hallelujah" which features Andy Grammer, and fans of his will love this song, as it is the same type of style as many of his songs. Grammer and Platten are old friends, which makes it nice to see them obtaining some level of success at the same time. I've heard many great things about Rachel Platten and how hard she worked to get this album out, and I am really glad I enjoyed this album as much as I did. Definitely recommend!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 1, 2016I love Rachel Platten. Her music is inspirational and comes from her heart and soul. She writes music that is so easily relatable and for me, it's like she's speaking to me.
I went to her concert in July during the Orange County Fair. She opened for Andy Grammer and it was the best of the best. My boyfriend who only went because I so badly wanted to go, even enjoyed himself and is now a fan of both of them. I can't wait for another chance to see them again.
Rachel Platten is someone I wish I could meet in person, so I could tell her thank you. She has helped me through the hardest years of my life.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 20, 2016I bought this cd mainly for the hit single "Fight Song". But, I was pleasantly surprised that, upon listening to the whole cd, I ended up really enjoying 3 other songs. So, I got more that I expected. Prior to the hit "Fight Song", I had never heard of Rachel Platten. I'm quite happy with this purchase.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 11, 2022I liked every song on this CD. Positive, uplifting, motivating, encouraging.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 18, 2017It's been a while since I listen to an album and was surprised that the last song has been played. I enjoy every single song. There's so much variations within a song that nothing really get repeated. Gosh, it's hard to find any repetition at all. Instrumentation, vocal, support vocal... all are so well placed, it's a piece of art (well for the ear obviously) where it's impossible to get bored looking at it.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2016Had to have this CD after hearing "Stand by You" on my new fav TV show "Heartbeat"...it's inspiring...I even printed out the lyrics (too bad the
liner notes didn't have them). I also loved "Fight Song" (what an anthem!), "Better Place" "Lone Ranger" & "Superman".
If any criticism it's that the instrumentals sort of overtake her singing. I'm not a real "pop" music fan but I'll be listening to this CD for a
long time!

5.0 out of 5 stars ... I had seen the video on YouTube and wasn't disappointed. Although this has a Christian rock vibe
Had to pick up this CD for 'Fight Song' as I had seen the video on YouTube and wasn't disappointed. Although this has a Christian rock
vibe, not my normal choice, the CD had enough enjoyable songs on it to elevate it from a good CD to a great one that I will no doubt
revisit several times.

Gran descubrimiento, estupendos temas (menos el 2), en la línea de Taylor Swift pero mejor. En cuanto al envío rapidísimo y muy buen precio. Un acierto.

5.0 out of 5 stars Disco molto soddisfacente!
Cd di grande emozione, a tratti sognante, con molta profondità, che mi ha dato speranza e respiro. Non mancano brani di grande energia, a partire da Fight song, meravigliosa sia qui che nella sua cover dei Piano Guys.
