Editorial Reviews
Uncovered is full of soulful interpretations of songs written by (among others) Tom Waits, Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder, Neil Finn and Robbie Robertson. Colvin and Eagles guitarist Don Henley (who produced Cover Girl) re-team to craft these compositions. Contains 12 songs previously recorded by some of the musical greats such as Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, Gerry Raffert, Graham Nash, and Tammy Wynette to name a few. Shawn Colvin will be on tour opening for Don Henley this October/November.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 28, 2023I received my record in empeccable state and in no time at all, in view of recent other experiences since e.g. Brexit.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2022I have been a Shawn Colvin fan for years and seen her in concert twice. This is a great follow up to her Cover Girl CD. Really like her Graham Nash cover I Used to Be a King. All good choices to match her voice and style.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 28, 2016This is a great record by Shawn Colvin. She sings beautifully and the songs were very well selected. She says that wanted to record the songs that she usually sang at the start of her career. But this is more than a cover album to make some cash; it is a wonderful recording. I have been following Shaw career for some time. The first time I acknowledge her was a review of her first album by the audiophile magazine "Hi-Fi News'. It is a must for those who love good rock-folk music like the one sang by Janis Ian, Joni Mitchell, Tori Amos.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 29, 2016Shawn Colvin can do no wrong in my book, and this CD is no exception. She covers a wide variety of songs with taste and inimitable skill. My only quibbles are with "Gimme A Little Sign," the Stevie Wonder song "Heaven is Ten Zillion Light Years Away," and "Acadian Driftwood," but that's just because I'm not very fond of those songs. She covers them beautifully, however. Shawn Colvin has the genius to turn a top 40 radio hit like "Baker Street" into something truly beautiful; this should come as no surprise to anyone who's heard her cover of the Elvis song "Viva Las Vegas." She transforms these songs into something deep and wonderful. I am very happy with this CD.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2016I'm a big fan of Colvin, so perhaps not the most objective...but this CD is superb. Great selection of songs by a fabulous vocalist and acoustic guitarist. She's got some great guest vocalists and musicians on the album too. I also happen to be a huge fan of pedal steel guitar and the licks throughout these songs is extremely tasteful and not particularly "countrified" (for those of you who detest whiny pedal steel). If you enjoy Shawn Colvin, you should add this to your library.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 5, 2015I don't agree with most of these reviews, I think these covers were carefully hand selected and Shawn strips them down from big 80's production and sings the structure and bones with the weight and depth they were written in. These songs are stories, and she tells the stories with her voice and guitar with minimal backing, which, I think is the reason the album is called "uncovered." Well done, if you are a Shawn Colvin fan this album won't disappoint.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2015Shawn Colvin has never failed to disappoint with any of her studio recordings - and I began listening and enjoying over 20 years ago. Her song selection and vocal delivery is always near perfect. This album so reminds me of her "Cover Girl" - which I play quite often still. I dare you to find a better and more heartfelt rendition of "American Tune". Please keep up the incredible work, Ms. Colvin!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 3, 2015I was surprised how much liked this record. I liked Shawn's first two records, but after that I lost interest in her music, and I never much liked her last cover album. This is excellent. She interprets the songs here very well, and her voice is as wonderful as ever. Great record.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bel disco di cover: molta classe, magari troppa?

5.0 out of 5 stars I love Shawn Colvin
Went into a local music store and asked if I could order this.
No, no we don't have it in our catalogue.
You know I don't need to tell you the age of that shop assistant...
I adore this album, an excellent work on a par with Cover Girl.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gekonnt gecovert
Nun also das zweite komplett gecoverte Album.
