Temptations of Desire (Desires Entwined Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 129 ratings

Desires Entwined: Book Three

Alexander James Noble is a gender fluid gay man who gave up on finding Mister Right a long time ago. He’s not asking for much, though. He just wants a guy who loves all of him and appreciates his feminine form too.

At the local LGBTQ center where Alex regularly volunteers, he meets Dal Sayer, an officer of the Milwaukee PD. Because he’s been rejected one too many times, Alex doesn’t trust the huge cop and the interest he shows in him, but once Dal sets his mind on something, he goes all out. Pushing aside his preconceived notions, Alex opens up just a little and soon caves.

From their first date—while dealing with his father’s failing health and his parents’ demands for him to settle down and have children—Dal never takes his eyes off his goal of making Alex his. But proving to Alex he isn’t like all the men who couldn’t see him for who he truly was and only wanted to hide him away is harder than he thought.

This book made me feel like I was sitting down listening to a story about old and dear friends. Having read Tempeste O'Rileys previous Desire Entwined Books, this book filled in previously unknown gaps and made Alex and Dal's love story incredible. Tempeste not only gave us hot sex scenes, but introduced a sweetness to her story when educating us about understanding and acceptance.

I thought it was fantastic introducing the topic of gender fluid with Alex, this is an area that is so often misunderstood and I was impressed with how the subject was tackled. With visits of characters from previous books, I loved that Tempeste tied her books together, making a cohesive story. Loved it.

Gender fluid individuals are of THE very nicest ,kindest and genuine people I have met in my life -as if the male/female duality we all have, is already in perfect balance with them; as if they're a couple of hundred years ahead of the pack in spiritual evolution and leading the way. I wish we could have more books on this-the only thing about this author's work that always bugs me is the EXTREME detailed description of attire , although in this story it might be argued to be appropriate. Nice one!

Alex is a unique personality with sweetness and caring draped all over him. Finding someone to love him and his feminine side is no easy task. He has had repeated bad relationships due to his preferences but then he meets Dal. Dal and Alex find a rocky path to love and show so much hope to others out there that a box of tissues may be needed to finish this book. A must read for all romantics!!!!!

Another re-read for this amazing book. I love the way the author tells this story about such amazing characters. It was the first book I had ever read with the term "gender fluid" and I think it was done perfectly.

"Temptations of Desire" by Tempest O'Riley (MM/Romance/Gender Fluid)

A copy of this book was provided to me by Inked Rainbow Reads in exchange for an honest review.

    ***3 1/2 STARS***

First, let me provide a googled definition of Gender Fluid:

Gender Fluid: Gender fluid is a gender identity which refers to a gender which varies over time. A gender fluid person may at any time identify as male, female, neutrois, or any other non-binary identity, or some combination of identities.

    ***

I love books, I learn new things everyday. I had no clue that "gender fluid" was the term used for that. I was aware of it, but never really thought of the title.

Anyway, I liked this book. Alex or "Lexie", was such a sweetie and needed so much loving. What happened to him when he was a teenager sucked. His parents should have been jailed. Really! I'm glad he met Dal, who is another sweetie. They were perfect together but what brought it down to 3 1/2 for me was the jumps.

I know this is book 3, and i admit to not reading book 2 (yet), but it seems that you have had to read book 2 to know what ever scenes skipped for book 3. It was confusing. I wish the author just wrote the whole kidnapping scene in anyway. I also didn't understand how Dal's father could be so cool with him being Bi, then suddenly demanding for him to have kids and a wife like "normal" man. I was like "wtf?" Even if his father thought he was dying, the father could have just said he wanted grandbabies. There are other options to have kids these days, ya know. What made me go "huh?" was when there was another time jump and his dad was suddenly ok with Alex. I suppose I have to read book 2 to understand why...?

All in all, it was an okay read. I enjoyed it up to the point of the scene jumps. It really took away from the story. Maybe the author thought previous readers didn't wanna re-read the scenes from book 2.

    Will I read book 2? maybe. :)

Over the last few days i have read the 3 books in this series. I have enjoyed them all. Each one has got better than the last. You can see how the author has grown in in confidence and skill. It is quite rare that an author's writing improves so well. I'm soooooooooooo looking forward to more by Tempeste O'Riley. Go girl
