Fall in love with Langley Park!
The Road Home is an emotional tale of two people with very tragic pasts, trying to take life one day at a time, feeling unworthy of true happiness and love. I enjoyed Jenna and Ben's journey, crying through the heartbreak they both suffered, and rejoiced in the happy moments. A great start to a beautiful series, and a story that will stay with you even after you've finished reading.

This is my first book by this author and I absolutely loved it. I have been having such a hard time getting into anything lately, but I was riveted by this book.

The tension between Ben and Jenna was perfectly written IMO. I couldn’t stop reading. I loved that we weren’t kept in the dark about their past or how Ben’s wife died. (I hate when authors keep it a secret for most of the book). Things moved along between Ben and Jenna in such a suspenseful way. You could truly “feel” the intensity between them. I loved that when Ben was trying to ignore what he felt for Jenna-she didn’t pine for him. She handled him very well even though it was breaking her heart that she thought she had meant nothing to him. But it was just the opposite. This book was like two lost broken souls finally finding each other again.

Kate, his daughter was also one of the most entertaining things about this book. She was adorable and utterly hilarious. I adored the relationship that Jenna had with her. It was beautiful and effortless.

There was also mystery and suspense in this book, but the relationship between Jenna and Ben was the focal point. It was just so good, and I can’t wait to read the rest.

Loved this book! This is a new author for me and once I starting reading I couldn’t put this book down! I loved reading about the characters in the town and how they all were apart of the book. Finding out the backstory and who they are today was great as well! This story was an emotional ride and I enjoyed reading every word of it ❤️ Thanks to the author for writing this book and I look forward to reading the remainder of the series 😘

This story is full of amazing and complicated people. You will be drawn into Jenna and Bens story. Jenna is a loner who likes to live her life without complications. She soon learns you can’t outrun your past. Ben is a devoted single dad who you can’t help but fall in love with. Their story is deep and at times complicated by the past and life in general. You will be rooting for them through the whole story.

This book had a few good things, intrigue romance and interesting characters. Jenna had more secrets than Victoria but I liked how once she found what she needed she made started letting things go. That family of hers... It's a wonder she didn't have more issues.

    Spoilers

I feel like it may have been a but more believable that she bought her mothers lies if she didn't point out they were constantly running a scam when she was growing up, so why didn't she suspect it here? And also her mothem literally kept bringing up the trust over and over and still she didn't suspect her at all? That seems pretty dense to me.

I enjoyed Ben & Jenna’s story. Jenna’s childhood is so heartbreaking. It’s hard to believe she’s doing as well as she seems to be. I love her coping strategy. It works for her and it helps all those kids in different places learn to read.
I loved that Ben still loved Jenna after all this time. It’s so wonderful that he was willing to give love another chance. They helped to heal each other and Kate is just a bonus of love! I will definitely read more books by this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful story, thoroughly enjoyed the realistic lives, loves and hopes of the characters

I really enjoyed this book so much. It was a perfect blend of love, lust, mystery, angst and dread. I just loved it. The relationships between the characters are so realistic, and the characters themselves are set in such realistic circumstances, they could be your neighbour or bar tender or the guy who passes you on the street and I love that about a book. Some of the topics in the book are pretty dark and I loved that too - real life isn't always pretty and that comes through in the broken people who find love in Langley Park. Just loved it and have already bought the second book!

A new author to me. Well written storyline. Good characters with hidden strengths. Events and individuals are well developed. The difficulties in their pasts complicate and guide their presents and futures. A chance to get things right, moving forward and onward.

A very emotional read that had me reaching for the tissues, poor Jenna and, poor Ben. A well written story, but the suspense part was pretty easy to work out the what and who. The pantry made me laugh, it helped to lighten the story.
