Haley Brandt isn’t the one-night-stand type, but too much tequila and a man with two sinfully black eyes left her breathless and willing to break her own rules. Her only solace was the fact that she’d never see him again.
Until the next morning when she finds out he’s her ride out of town and back to the ranch where she grew up.
Nixon Holt works with Haley’s father, so Haley makes her position clear—she doesn’t get involved with ranch employees. Ever. At nineteen, she’d learned her lesson the hard way, and it became her one unbreakable rule.
But Nixon makes his position clear, too: He’s going to wear down Haley’s defenses and he won’t stop until she breaks all her rules for him. He’s well on his way when Haley finds out the one thing that could make her hate him. Nixon is left with two choices: walk away or break all his rules for her.

She relocated to the warmer climates of the South, where she can be near the water all summer and miss the snow all winter. Possessed of an overactive imagination from early in her childhood, Michelle finally found an acceptable outlet for her fantastical visions: literary fiction. Having written over a dozen novels, these days Michelle enjoys letting her mind wander to more romantic settings with sexy Southern guys, much like the one she married and the ones you'll find in her latest books. When her thoughts aren't roaming in that direction, she'll be riding wild horses, skiing the slopes of Aspen or scuba diving with a hot rock star, all without leaving the cozy comfort of her office.

I didn’t realize just how long it’s been since I last read a book by the talented Michelle Leighton, and it was such a treat to immerse myself in one of her lighter-hearted stories again.
"Anytime you have an… urge you need to take care of, consider me your man of the moment. Use me however you’d like."
I think it’s safe to say this is an author that is back in her writing happy place with Haley and Nixon’s story. Tequila High started and ended on a High and all the in-between didn’t really offer any dips either.
I’ve never seen someone fight attraction as hard as this woman...
From the perfect meet-cute at the beginning, to the fact that Nixon was deliciously sexy, downright dirty, and all Alpha-man.
Something about this woman captivates me…
Then add in that I really liked Haley; a woman who has had a few hard knocks in the name of love, and although initially reluctant to act on her attraction, still isn’t afraid to deal with a man she gets all hot and bothered over, and with supreme confidence and sass, a shield that hides a lot of her vulnerabilities, Tequila High was a book I pretty much read in one sitting.
"You just don’t give up do you?"
"…Not when I really want something."
The dual POV really worked for this couple, getting in both of their heads at pivotal moments in the story gave depth to their reactions and also gave you more insight into the reasons why they behaved the way they did.
"Everything I want about you is because it’s you…"
The plot was nice and easy to get along with, low but relevant drama, not overplayed, and the introduction to the rest of the Brandt sisters as well as Nixon’s brother, makes me pretty eager to see who the author has in mind for the next book in the 100 Proof series.
"I’ll never think of that liquor the same way again."

Haley hasn't been home to her family's ranch in ten years. She left as a young 19 year old with a broken heart and soul and now she's divorced and back home for a while - with her dad and three sisters.
Enter Nixon. He's living on the ranch too. And Haley doesn't want anything to do with guys who work on the farm - never again. But she met him before she knew who he was!
And he's so mega irresistible, working out with no shirt on in the living room! Grrrr.
But of course there are some tiny little secrets surrounding both of them - secrets that could destroy what is just starting between them.
What will happen with Haley & Nix? Will there be a HEA? READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺
═════════════════════
Well, that was cute. And funny and cowboy-ish! A bit sad and heartbreaking too.
I really enjoyed reading it!
I liked the whole family atmosphere on the ranch. Dad with his four daughters. I really hope we'll get to hear all their stories! Funny ladies with lots of stories to tell! A barkeeper, a cook and a photographer!
But back to Haley and Nix. It was a sweet and funny insta-attraction thing with them. Nix doesn't do love and Haley will never again start anything with a ranch hand, or with someone who lies to her about his intentions. Not a very good start for our two darlings!
Sweet story.
But nothing much happened. I wanted a little bit more excitement or funny moments, sexy moments. We didn't really hear anything about Nixon's life, his life and past and family - other than meeting his brother for a second. We also heard nothing much about Haley's store and the ranch and ... This book should've been 50 pages longer with a bit more of everything, it's like there have been three books about the three sisters, and we should know everything already!
But I still enjoyed reading it - I really loved the never have I ever game they played! Adorable!
Oh... another thing. LOL! Maybe I was just in a weird mood while reading this book, because from the moment I posted the cover reveal on social media (and didn't read the blurb! Because I only read blurbs the second before I start reading the book!) I was sure that this was going to be a HIGHSCHOOL ROMANCE!!!!!!! But we're not talking about the high in high school - but the high you get from drinking too much tequila! LOL! I know, I'm weird, but I was really hoping for a sweet young romance! No idea what I was thinking where the tequila would be happening at a highschool, but I'm sure tequila happens at highschools. ☺☺☺ And then I went and read the blurb and somewhere there it says 19! So I assumed Haley is 19, but that was ten years ago - ugh. I should really pay better attention to things! ☺
Another tiny little thing. The praying before dinner thing. Too much religion for me. I'm absolutely anti-religion and I just don't want that in my romances!
But still - I really loved Nix and Haley and the others - can't wait to hear more from them! Don't let me scare you away from this book - it was really sweet and funny!!!!!!
TEQUILA HIGH was a sweet & adorable & cowboyish love-story! Please run to your nearest amazon for your own Nixon! This one is MINE!!!!!
All it took was seeing the author's name and I was all-in, without even knowing what the story was about. As expected, I loved Tequila High. What I didn't expect was to fall in love with Haley's whole family. I don't know what the future holds in this fictional world, but I really hope to spend more time at the ranch.
Haley is hanging out with her best friend at a bar and they are on a Tequila high. If she hadn't been drunk, she might not have let her lust make her decisions for her. "Does Nixon rhyme with velvet? Because that's how it sounds to me—like velvet."
Nixon doesn't do love, but he does do one-night-stands. She insists that's not going to happen between them. "She doesn't realize that she threw gasoline on the fire of my attraction to her." Hell yeah! I couldn't wait for that explosion. I had my fire extinguisher standing by, just in case. Not to cool their passion, just to make sure my Kindle didn't melt while I was being a virtual voyeur.
What I enjoyed most was my time at the ranch. What an awesome place that I hope to go back to. I was very curious about Haley's secrets, wanting to know what caused her to run away and stay gone for ten years. I was also highly entertained by playing NEVER HAVE I EVER. What a great way to get to know someone, right? It works with and without Tequila. I noticed the book cover says it's A 100 Proof Novel, so my hopes are high I'll be seeing these awesome characters again. The line forms here...
Any time I see that Michelle Leighton is putting out a book, I am all-in, no blurb needed. Tequila High is the first book in her 100 Proof series and she's definitely started the series out well.
Tequila High is Haley's story and it's quite an emotional one. She is the eldest of her sisters and the one who has been away from home and the ranch for the last 10 years. The beginning of this story was a bit slow for me, but what kept me intrigued was the story behind Haley's absence for the last 10 years.
Nixon is quite the character. I love that he was persistent with Haley and constantly having her trip over herself and her words at every corner. Their interactions were entertaining to the say the least.
I really enjoyed the background Michelle gives us with the family and the sisters. You could easily sense the deep roots in their family and how close they all were. So I am quite excited to see what Michelle brings us next with these sisters.
Overall, it was a great start to the series and I am looking forward to more from Michelle!!
I snagged myself an ARC of Tequila High, and Mrs. Leighton does not dissappoint!
I had no doubt, from the premise alone, that this was going to be a great book. I always enjoy her books. They are full of love and sweetness and hope. These characters are people that I could imagine living in my town, they were so well written and realistic.
Haley was complicated, real, and had been hurt. She loved her family and she wanted nothing more than for things to work out, all the way around. Nixon wasn’t in her plans but once he met her, he wasn’t letting her go. She grew up on a farm and the story was rich with horses and country/farm life. It set a perfect scene for the story.
And it was hilarious! Nixon was exactly what I like in my guys: sweet, caring, respectful of others, works hard, doesn’t give up, doesn’t get mad easily, wants what he wants and doesn’t pretend like he doesn’t. He was all of those things and more. And when they were together, they sizzled.
OHEMGEEEEE! I’m so full of happiness from this book!
Haley and Nixon will steal your heart, I’m giddy with excitement Over how adorably cute these two were. I love their unique banter and his persistence. I mean who wouldn’t want a Nixon (SWOON.) I can FEEL his eyes when he’s looking at her, gahhhh I couldn’t put it down. I don’t remember the last time I read a book in one sitting. It’s not often. I couldn’t get enough, I mean right from the moment they met I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. From lol moments to all the sexy these characters gave me all the FEELS.
Let’s talk about Haley’s family, I love when a family is as close as hers. Her sisters cracked me up, they’re there for each other and even have some bantering of their own. I’m hoping each one gets a book. I’m so in love with all the characters. I love the story and the writing. I adore This author, I’ve read all her books and I can tell you from the heart each one is special. Each one has a character that will stay with you, and each one tells a story worth reading.THIS ONE is no different. Michelle has written yet another story with a balance of heat and heart. Read it, read them all, you’ll thank me.

FULL REVIEW to come on Release Day.... Read this book, you won't be sorry. I am in love with Nixon Holt!!!
FULL REVIEW Now Posted:: Nixon Holt!!! Remember that name because you WILL want to meet him and he WILL take the top spot on your book boyfriend list. I can honestly say he has taken over my Michelle Leighton’s Hero spot.
This book took be back to the beginning with Michelle and her writing. I have been an avid fan of Michelle’s for years now. I am always left with a HUGE smile on my face and a warm full heart after reading her books. Tequila High took me back to her The Wild Ones days. I loved being back on a ranch with some swoony cowboys or ranchers. I was sucked into this story right from the beginning!! I had a hard time putting it down.
Tequila High is the first book in Michelle’s newest series…. 100 Proof Series. This is a standalone novel and is a complete story, but I believe this series will be interconnected, because I believe the other books will be about Haley’s sisters. This story is told in Dual POV. I loved the flow and pace of this story. I was swept up in these characters and the story they had to tell.
In this book we follow Nixon and Haley. Haley and Nixon meet in a bar one night and have an instant connection. So color Haley surprised when she finds out the Nixon works for her father on their family ranch. Haley is coming home after being gone for 10 years and she has sworn to never fall for someone who works for her dad again. So as you can guess this new found information causes a road block for Haley and Nixon. But Nixon is determined to win over Haley. What Haley doesn’t know is that Nixon is carrying a secret?? What happens when that truth comes out?? Can Haley and Nixon get their HEA?? Read this entertaining read to find out.
I absolutely loved all of Haley’s sisters!! You can definitely feel the bond between these ladies. I also felt the strong bond they have with their dad. I look forward to reading the stories of the sisters also. I hope we get to see more of Nixon’s siblings as well. We got to meet his brother briefly and I hope we see more of him in the future.
If you are a fan of Michelle Leighton’s books you are going to want to read this story!!! It was so sweet and swoony, it melted my heart and panties ;) Don’t miss this AMAZING start to this new series!!!

Michelle Leighton (M. Leighton) is one author that I can guarantee will have me in tears while I am reading her books lately. I don't know how she does it, but she ALWAYS gets me to feel everything! And while I did cry while reading this book, I didn't need a full box of tissues because I laughed too. While I absolutely love the deeply emotional reads that Michelle has been writing I am thrilled that we are seeing some of her lighter side again as well.
Haley left home at nineteen after having her heart broken and hasn't returned in ten years. Now, she is heading home and she is in for a shocker....and it's not just in the form of Nixon.
Nixon will melt your heart with how he is with Haley. Their first encounter is HOT but there is much, much more to the way he is with her. I loved that he didn't take advantage of her and that he did handle her with kid gloves when needed.
The chemistry between Haley and Nix was great. "Never Have I Ever" is and will always be a great drinking game and I loved the way Michelle Leighton used it for Nix and Haley to get to know one another.
If you haven't read any books by Michelle Leighton/M. Leighton yet, I suggest you start now because there are so many great books that she has written you'll want to read them all. If you enjoy cowboys or westerns this is a perfect read for you but I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys a good contemporary romance as well. Happy Reading!!!
Let me tell you…I was totally ready to pack my bags and move to the ranch and work whatever job I could…just to get right up there next to Nixon Holt! Would love to have him teach me to ride a horse 😉
Haley Brandt left home 10 years ago and hasn’t returned since that day. Vowing when she pulled out of the ranch…
NEVER Again having anything to do a ranch hand.
Nixon Holt can’t take his eyes off the girl sitting at the bar. When the stars have aligned, and she walks over to his table…. there was no turning back. He had to have her. The one thing that he has always promised himself was… never going too far with a drunk gal. Doesn’t mean that he didn’t have every desire to do so.
When the next day rolls around, boy oh boy were both of them in for a huge surprise!
I really enjoyed reading this book! It flowed great and read perfectly. I only wish that there was more to Nixon and Haley’s background. They were both hurt previously, and we got a glimpse of it. But I felt that if there were more, I would have absolutely loved this book.
Michelle Leighton has given us another one sitting read. Tequila High is a book from the minute you turn to the very first page you are hooked and the next time you are looking up is when you see the words The End. Never have I ever met two characters that are so perfect for the other. Haley Brandt & Nixon Holt will steam up the pages from the first time their eyes meet from across the bar. Haley & Nixon meet in a very unconventional way and when they realize they share an uncommon connection do you trust the other or do you jump in with both feet. They will have to overcome a lot along the way but do they take the chance or walk away. I know that I was cheering them on from the moment they met because this a couple that truly deserve to find that HEA.
I loved this! What starts out as a dare on a fun night out quickly turns into so much more. Neither Nixon or Haley are looking for love, but unexpected feelings take root and I enjoyed watching everything unfold. Obstacles of their pasts have them fighting their feelings as well as a secret that could change everything. Their chemistry is explosive and their relationship adorable, sweet, and fun. I also enjoyed the family dynamic and hope to see more of them all.
Nixon and Haley are so fun. I loved their banter, the slow build of their relationship, and the smile this story kept on my face.
Nixon is just always teasing his woman, “no, I don’t mind if you strut around nude after your shower. I can live with that.” Haley and Nixon are just all for each other, “well, to be fair, other than taking care of basic needs like food and hygiene, that is all we’ve done for the last two weeks..." I liked this book, I fell in love with Nixon.
M. Leighton has done it again! She has knocked it out the ballpark and lord have mercy do I love me some Tequila tehehehe.
This is one of those stories that will have you laughing and crying all at the same time. I loved Haley and Nixon. They both had their shortcomings but they were able to look past all that and become more than friends.
Haley has a rule she does not do one night stands. She stays clear from relationships because it is better to be friends because she has been hurt and does not want to go through that again. But she meets a dark and handsome man and a few shots of Tequila and she is romping in the bed with him. One night she thinks until she wakes up and realizes that he works for her father's ranch.
Nixon is such a sweetheart man I need him as my husband because he refuses to give up on Haley and he is determined to get her and keep her. But secrets come out and Nixon will have to decide whether or not to fight for Haley or walk away from her and be friends.
This book had me laughing and crying and rooting for Nixon and Haley. This is a must read so go ahead and one click it!
Haley Brandt's recipe for bad choices. A night out with her instigating best friend, Lia. Add Tequila + More Tequila. A dare. A sexy stranger. A hotel room. And one hot as hell encounter. Her night of stepping out of her comfort zone was just supposed to be a one and done. But then the next day, it comes back to haunt her.
Nixon Holt apparently is not really a stranger to her family, and her dad asks him to drive her back to the family ranch she has not stepped foot on in ten years. She has a hard and fast rule about not dating ranch workers or anyone associated with the ranch. She's been burned by men and is not looking for love or attachments.
Nixon has his own past issues and is not looking for love either, but he is not opposed to having some real good times and exploring their intense chemistry further. And he is as persistent as he is charming and sexy. It's a game of attraction and resistance. I enjoyed their witty banter, flirting, and games of Never Have I Ever.
But sometimes lines get blurred and rules get overlooked. Feelings can get messy and the game can suddenly change. They both have some secrets that affect how they feel about relationships and could ruin any chance at something real. Is the potential worth breaking their own rules and fighting for? Or will they end up another scar on the other's heart?
This was a fun, sweet, romantic story between two people who were totally against falling in love. I liked getting their dual points of view and how their secrets and pasts were slowly revealed. I enjoyed the ranch setting with her father and three sisters Hannah, Harper, and Hope. Each of the women were interesting and had their own personalities. And his brother Tyson was intriguing as well. I am looking forward to more of their stories.

I absolutely LOVED this book. I couldn’t put it down. The way Nixon and Haley meet had me laughing and the way everything unfolded was just a joy.
Haley (newly divorced) is in a bar with her best friend Lia after coming home to the family ranch for the first time in 10 years. Lia insists Haley needs to get back in the saddle again and find a man. She agrees to leave Haley alone if she will at least find someone in the bar to kiss. With everyone watching and listening to the exchange, she sets her sites on Nixon. The kiss was a scorcher but when she was finished and turned around, Lia had left with a guy of her own.
She decides to call it a night but it turns out she and Nixon are staying in the same hotel and they end up spending the night together. She skips out before he wakes but later that morning finds out he not only “works for” her dad but is also her ride to the ranch. AND, they are staying in the cottage together.
The sparks are flying between them from the beginning but prior bad relationships not only kept her away from home for so long but make her resistant to Nixon’s MANY charms.
Finding out whether or not they finally give in to their desires or if she is willing to forgive is why I couldn’t put it down. I loved the story so much I’m going to read it again over my Christmas vacation.
Wow! What a great story! Nixon is quite a character 😊 The chemistry between him and Hayley was explosive from the start.🔥 I really enjoyed the push and pull of their relationship. I loved watching Hayley fight a losing battle with the fireworks between her & Nixon. Her hesitancy was understandable after learning about her past. I loved Nixon's protectiveness of her. Also to see all of the obstacles that Nixon & Hayley had to face in their relationship, on the way to their well-deserved Happily Ever After. It was neat to see the dynamic between Hayley and her sisters. Also the dynamic between Nixon and her dad. I really hope the other sisters will get a book. I can't wait to learn more about this family. This is definitely A Must Read for any fans of her books. I can't wait to see what she writes next.
M Leighton has done it again. I’m a huge fan of her and for good reason. Every time I start one of her books, I can’t put them down. Tequila High gripped me from page one and I couldn’t stop until I finished it. Haley and Nixon and tequila. Much like shooting tequila, this story starts as a slow, deep burn and quickly ignites into flames flickering at your soul. One kiss from a stranger quickly turns into a slow burning, passionate love between two people who don’t do love. Never have I ever wanted a shot of tequila and a ranch hand more in my life. Leighton doesn’t disappoint. If you’re looking for a scorching hot read and don’t mind craving some Patron later— go out and buy this book.
When Nixon & Haley meet briefly in a bar one night sparks fly between the two. So imagine Haley’s surprise when she finds out that Nixon is working for her father & they will be staying at her families ranch together! Can she keep her distance or will their chemistry be to much to ignore? Can Nixon wear her defenses down and get her to open up? When they both have secrets will the truth be too much to handle? This is a sweet romance that is a quick read. Told in dual POV
I have been an M. Leighton fan for years now and with each and every release I dive into the book with excitement. I was extremely excited for this one because I am a tequila fan and couldn’t wait to see the tie in. I dove into this one almost immediately and it was so hard to put down.
Never have I ever wanted to visit a ranch so badly. I am not a country girl, I am city born and raised, but if they make them like Nixon there then I could maybe figure out some way to make it work haha. I adored Nixon; it’s kinda ridiculous how quickly I fell for him, but he was just so great. He is charming and sweet and funny. The banter… OH MY GOSH THE BANTER. Nixon and Haley go back and forth so much and they go a mile a minute and it’s fantastic. And speaking of Haley… I love that woman. She has been through quite a bit, but I love how she keeps picking herself back up and doing what she needs to do. The chemistry between these two is through the roof and they just work so well.
I also have to take some time to talk about Haley’s sisters, because honestly one of my favorite things about the book was the relationship between the sisters. Haley, Hope, Harper, and Hannah are great together and their relationship feels so true to actual sister relationships. They bicker and tease and they fight but at the end of the day they put one another first and have each other’s backs.
If you were a fan of some of Michelle’s older work (think The Wild Ones, Down To You, etc) then Tequila High is going to be perfect for you! It feels so much like those books. It is very much its own story and it’s not just a repeat of something she has already done, but this book elicits the same type of feelings those books did. It has so much heart and romance, all served with a side of heartache. And it’s addictive, so so addictive and easy to get lost in.
All in all, Tequila High is another hit from M. Leighton. Her books always make me feel so much and Nixon and Haley got under my skin in the best way.
For some reason, this book really bothered me. Hayley clearly states she is not interested and Nixon doesn't really care. He is going to go after her anyway, even though he just wants sex. He seemed like a jerk to me. And Hayley annoyed me. She gets hysterical because Nixon supposedly lied to her an used her like her ex did. UMMMM NO. Get over yourself!
M. Leighton once again captivates the imagination the way that only she can. Love, heartbreak, lust, and eloquently crafted character development combined with a deep rooted desire for the protagonists success underlies this steamy and passionate tale. A real page turner from start to finish.
I adore Ms. Leighton's books and when I saw she was starting a new series, based on sisters-Haley, Hope, Hannah and Harper- I couldn't sign up fast enough!
If Tequila High is any indication of how this series is going to go, then I am in heaven!
Haley Brandt is going back to her family's ranch for the first time in ten years. Newly divorced, she's going to see her family and she couldn't be more nervous. Tossing back shots with her best friend, Lia, it's clear Haley's had a little too much tequila. Throw in a dare from Lia to kiss a handsome stranger and things are about to get interesting. Turns out Nixon Holt is staying at the same hotel as Haley is and there are some dirty shenanigans between them. Both agree the attraction is strong, but the timing is wrong.
I don't sleep with drunk women, but I'd damn sure sleep with a hung over redhead if given the chance.
Nixon has business on his mind. He'd have enjoyed the hell out of the fiery redhead but he has a lot at stack and needs to keep his head in the game. Haley's marriage ended on a betrayal and she just wants to make peace. Neither expect to see each other again. Only it turns out Nixon is headed to her family's ranch.
"Yes, that's right. I don't get involved with people who work for my father. I have few hard and fast rules in my life, but that's one, and it's one I stick to."
Yeah, right. I'm sure Haley's gonna try her best to keep away from Nixon, but he's as into her as she is in him, so this should be interesting!
"Do you really think I'm the type of man who just sits back and waits for something he wants?"
Well now the man has a point. Guess Haley is biting off a little more than she can chew.
The only thing that is driving me crazy is Nixon's "I don't do the love thing". Lord, if he says it once, he says it ten times. He was burnt and while he's not about to ignore the chemistry between he and Haley, he makes sure she and everyone else is aware that he does not do love. Ok, Nixon, got it!
Things are lusting up between them but good. So you just know that the other shoe's about to drop. If there's one thing Haley does not trust, it's her ability to find a guy who isn't hiding something. From her first love to her husband, they are all liars. So when some things come to light about Nixon...well, this isn't going to end well.
"Let me make it up to you." "How, Nixon? You can't make up for broken trust."
Now the guy who doesn't do love, is about to find out that maybe he already does!
"You're my tequila. And you're my hangover. I'm in love with you and that's the only high I need. Just you. Always."
After years of absence from her family’s farm, Haley Brandt decides it’s time to head back to the place that holds so many memories from the past. Running away from the demons that haunt her soul also meant leaving behind Haley’s sisters and father. This trip would be a chance to reconnect and get her bearings from the latest downfall in Haley’s life.
What Haley doesn’t expect is for a drunken Tequila high to alter her plans. One night in a bar definitely left Haley reeling from the effects. Now that the liquid courage is gone, Haley finds herself facing Nixon Holt completely sober. To add insult to injury, Haley realizes that Nixon works at the Brandt farm. The knowledge a definite splash in the face with cold water that leaves Haley wondering what could happen next.
Determined to keep feelings out of the attraction, Nixon and Haley can’t seem to get their night of bliss out of the equation. The back and forth struggle to keep the other at arm’s length began. What neither would realize is just how much their attraction would steer the future. It’s a fight to keep their hearts out of the ‘game’, but neither realizes just how hard that task would become.
To say I was excited about reading the latest book by M. Leighton would be an understatement!! Tequila High is the latest release in the Leighton library, and it is quite the sizzler!! Nixon and Haley heat up this novel and lead you down a path of self discovery. Simply put…..I soaked this piece of literature up like a fine wine. Or at least a shot of tequila!!
The way that Nixon and Haley meet starts this journey and it’s definitely full of some seriously tempting moments. The way these two danced around their attraction held my attention and wouldn’t let me go. Life at the ranch was indeed full of funny and interesting moments, but there is a secret lurking that will have a lingering affect on everyone at the ranch. What could it be??? Just read it and find out….I promise…this novel is served the best with a shot of tequila!
Haley isn’t a one night stand kind of girl, but on a dare fueled by too much tequila she kisses a stranger in a bar. A kiss moves to more, Haley decides to let go of her rules for a night and have some fun. Besides, it isn’t like she will see him again. It figures the one time she steps out of her comfort zone, it can’t be that simple.
Nixon Holt may work with Haley’s father, but he also knows he is interested in Haley, despite her rule against dating ranch employees.
Neither of these two is looking for love, but a little fun isn’t out of the question. But when the fun starts to mix with newly developing feelings, there is more to deal with than just a little no-strings sexy time. It doesn’t help that there are secrets that will throw a wrench in anything that might develop if left in the dark.
The Brandt family is a close-knit one, despite the big secret their dad is keeping for part of Tequila High. I enjoyed watching the sisters reacquaint themselves after Haley’s 1- year absence from the ranch. She may have been physically absent, but she made an effort to stay in touch with everyone, and returning was a smooth arrival (at least with her family).
This was a fun read all around. There were a few pieces I wished were developed a little further, but I loved the setting, the side characters, and the little dramatic moments that drove these two together and apart. I was grinning from their meet-cute, and didn’t really stop the entire time.
I received a copy of this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
A sweet, sweet romance with plenty of steam, a sassy heroine and one smooth talking cowboy. M. Leighton has gifted us a wonderful tale of two people not looking for love but who find it anyway. Both of these characters are resistant to the idea of falling in love; Haley because she’s been hurt too many times (and in some pretty horrible ways), and Nixon who just wants nothing to do with love.
Together, Hayley and Nixon make an explosive couple. Individually, they are well developed characters that I loved watching get their HEA. My favorite part of this story is probably the one on one time that Hayley and Nixon spend on the ranch together. They have easy, witty banter. And while they play a little tug of war while trying to resist one another, their antics and games were enjoyable to read. The only thing that kept me from rating this sorry a little higher was that I felt there were a few lose ends or issues that weren’t addressed and would have made for a richer plot line if they had been.
Hayley has 3 sisters who all live at home on at the ranch. I’m anxious to see if there will be more books for each of the sisters. Each one of the supporting characters had unique characteristics that I think would make good spin offs! Here’s to hoping!
Oh I loved this book, it gave me all the warm, fuzzy feels and then some!! A fun and deliciously sexy read. It's M. Leighton at her very best.
Tequila High had me smiling practically throughout the whole book, sometimes laughing out loud and sometimes shouting in frustration. I was hooked from the first page and found it very hard to put down.
I loved Haley & Nixon, they were just perfect together. The flirty, sexy banter they shared with each other left me with a goofy grin on my face and the red hot passionate chemistry that was evident from their first encounter sizzled off the pages, leaving wanting my very own Nixon Holt. Maaan he is one sexy rancher, he definitely made my heart and temperature soar!!!
I can't get enough of this new series from this author and am waiting ever so patiently (not!) for the rest of the Brandt sisters stories. Tequila High is a quick, fun and very sexy read and I can't recommend it highly enough. Add this baby to your TBR shelf now!
It all starts in a bar. Too much Tequila has Lia talking about penetration and in order for Haley to quiet her very loud best friend she must kiss a stranger, a very gorgeous stranger. Insert Nixon, and boy does he enjoy making her squirm as she explains the situation. You may never look at Tequila the same. Ever heard the saying "You shouldn't dance with the Devil?" We are about to bust into Hades doing the jig haha. Haley wakes up thinking of the stranger she can't get off her mind..lucky for her Nixon is her ride back home. Oh M Gee!! One night they find themselves camping.. It's a night that changes things. There is a visible shift. But is it enough? What happens when someone shows up to threaten it all? Hold onto your horses ladies and gents, this may get a little bumpy...Oh La La!! Them Heather sisters are a force, but they prove family is EVERYTHING.
Tequila High is a brand new book and characters from M. Leighton. Haley and Nixon meet in a bar and share one night, something very unlike Haley, but there is a pull she just can't deny. Nixon feels a pull but chalks it up to attraction.
When they realize hey will both be st Haley's family ranch she tells him nothing more can happen. The banter these two have is great, the pull and connection is something her family can see even with Haley's denial. Nixon is persistent and it doesn't go unnoticed either. I love Haley and her strong will, Nixon and rugged , tell it like he sees it ways. Nixon will definitely make you swoon!
Grab this if you never read M. Leighton before and hang on for the ride, get ready for your new book boyfriend! If you are a fan , then you DO NOT want to miss out on this book.
I m a big fan of Michelle Leighton and her books. So when i get a chance to read ARC of her upcoming romance novel i dived in!! And Ohhh My Freaking God......I m high on this book and Nixon and Haley! The title seems fitting with all the high you'll feel after reading this book. I read this in one sitting, it sucked me in the story right from the first page. I can't seem to put it down. Nixon and Haley will definitely steal your breath away and holy cow the sexiness that is Nixon *steals my breath away* When Haley saw Nixon a sexy stranger in a bar, and kissed him. She didn't know that he is one of the employees of her father. But its too late now. Will she broke her one rule and give in the temptation that is Nixon?? All in all Michelle Leighton had delivered another amazing story once again. A cute romance read with sexiness, heat, humor and all the feels. Read it!
Bring on the sexy ranch hand Nixon and the tequila shooting, redhead Haley and you get an explosion of lust and hesitation.
Never had Haley ever thought she would find herself back home in Texas at the family's ranch. Never had she ever expected to find love again. Never had she ever expected Nixon.
"Sweet mother of audio pheromones! His voice is like warm honey dripping down my chest. Or like melted chocolate being dribbled on my thighs."
Never had Nixon ever been so taken by one woman. Never had he ever played Never had you ever. Never had he ever expected Haley.
"You can have companionship without love. Chemistry without love. Great sex without love."
