Had this album for a few weeks now and keeps growing on me. Unlike a lot of contemporary music it requires further listens to fully grasp the nuanced and sophisticated music and lyrics. This is one of Tim Bowness' most accomplished efforts and deserves to a huge hit as it is up there with the best of No-Man and other prog-related bands. It's a love letter to a bygone era, the album era and the huge bands who dominated the charts in the 70s and 80s. Fans of early Genesis will really love this album. I really hope he tours this album as I can imagine a live version being sublime.

How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 April 2017One of the best Tim Bowness' albums. Recommended.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 July 2017Another gem from Tim. Love his voice.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 February 2017This is a pleasant, rather old-fashioned piece of work and I mean that as a compliment. At times Bowness sounds like a latter day Bowie backed by a mid-70s Genesis so if that floats your boat then this album might suit your ears. I suppose one criticism is that the album is a bit one-paced as there are no outbreaks of riffing guitars or the like, but if you want a mellow, tuneful, meditative listen, give this one a go.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hard to find, easy to love
My eyes were opened to this album through a Facebook group, I searched for a couple of days to find it, so glad I did. The surround mix on the dvd is excellent ( with Steven Wilson involved why wouldn’t it be) you get 2 albums here on the dvd as well, both draw you into this world with the immersion of sound and tell you a story…very enjoyable

I always enjoy Tim Bowness' works. I would like Abandoned Dancehall Dreams but it is way too expensive,

5.0 out of 5 stars 'Once the world was yours'
Tim Bowness? Who the f... is Tim Bowness?
Buy, buy!
'Once the world was yours / And the world was for people like you / Now the world is theirs / And the world is for people like them' (Tim Bowness: "You'll Be the Silence") .
