It was fabulous to revisit this once treasured set of albums, having sold much of my vinyl off thirty years some ago to find myself re-buying much of the very same albums again on CD is I'm sure a familiar story to those of us that are of a certain age... That said I never owned Sandinista or Combat Rock, it was actually the desire to buy Combat Rock (Straight To Hell was the pull of course, as this number has been in my top ten all time favourite records since way back when and must surely be a contender for one of the best set of lyrics ever put down on record. It was then and it is now). Then I saw this little box on Amazon. Worth every single penny. I had forgotten what a great reggae groove The Clash cut, punk and reggae always had this strange marriage and this band were the bride, the groom and guests all rolled into one. Incredible.

Just the fact that the cd's look like the original LPs was enough to put a smile on my face but it felt like every aspect of the design of this box was done to make a true fan happy. I'm no sound expert but the remastered songs do sound clearer without losing any of the emotion which can't have been an easy task. Thanks to the Clash

I dont need to tell you about The Clash - you already know !! Great box set of remastered albums - the sound is excellent, you can hear so many more extra little bits of sound that were never clear enough on the original releases !! A lot more clarity on all albums due to great remastering overlooked by Mick Jones. Excellent.

What can I say. It is a great collection of Clash music and good value for money. I can't bring myself to open the box the music was downloaded via the Amazon cloud; I guess that I will open it sometime but it leaves me something to look forward to. I could have just bought the download but it's great to own such an iconic item.

Excellent. I was looking to get a few Clash albums after just owning the greatest hits for so long.
This is a beautiful collection, sound is crisp and the cd and packaging itself is amazing.
All the albums are like mini vinyl, it really is one of the smartest looking cd box sets in my collection.

I've recently got shot of my entire vinyl collection, so felt justified in buying this box set. I think it represents great value for money. All 5 albums (8 cds in total) are included in a sturdy 'flight case' box. Lyrics, inserts and label facsimiles complement the set. It sounds good too. . .

Purchased for a hardcore Clash fan and went down a storm! He loved the fact that the CDs were reproduced to look like mini albums, even down to the labels on the centre of the discs.
Great set of albums that are well presented in every way. Brilliant, made me look great!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Viaggio in parte della storia musicale dei The Clash
Reviewed in Italy on 24 November 2015

5.0 out of 5 stars Básico

5.0 out of 5 stars Great set, great price, the best way to get the only music that matters!

Totally give this 5 stars for the music. The packaging is really good, but it could have been kicked up another notch. OTOH, I only paid $36 for this box set, which is a great deal. Cheaper than what I paid for the original LPs, back in the day.

I can't say anything about the music that hasn't already been said - The Clash made an amazing musical progression in just a few years, one of the best bands ever! And it's all here, in one neat inexpensive package.

Sonically, I don't have the ears to critique the remastering, so I won't. Except to say that it seems like they didn't try to reduce the tape hiss, which seems odd. Actually, the quality (volume, timbre) of the hiss pretty consistent throughout the set, which seems odd.

The packaging is fun. The outer box is decently sturdy, the individual albums have cardstock outer sleeves with paper inner sleeves holding the CDs. The original LPs were not super-fancy, so these replicas aren't either. But all the UK artwork and labels is reproduced, including a couple of inserts in Sandinista! and Combat Rock. They used the same style CDs as in The Singles Box Set - black discs with 'LP grooves' printed on. The only thing missing is the message "In Space no one can hear you ... Clash!" in the runout on the Sandinista! discs. The 'record sleeves' are cut a little wide, so the inner sleeves and CDs fall out very easily.

topper headon and paul simonon ....... the bass n drums sound so much better than i ever heard (london calling reminds me of the LP ...... luscious sounding)....... i'm blasting it quite loud and there's no sense of harshness at all ..... smooth silky top end and monster bass n drums ...........

this is a MUST buy for sure for any fan ........

be advised i've only listened to the first album (AWESOME) and london calling (yup AWESOME too) .....
listening to them sitting in the sweet spot on powered monitors that only go down to about 65 HZ ....... and you can still feel the more powerful low end ..... very impressive, as it all sounds wonderfully balanced and spacious.

i will update as i go through them all .....

5.0 out of 5 stars The Clash....fast alles Wichtige in einer Box
Reviewed in Germany on 13 October 2014
Was kann man da falsch machen ? Nichts !
    1. The Clash
    2. Give 'em enough rope
    3. Combat Rock
    4. London Calling
    5. Sandinista
