Product description
NEW Combo BLUWAVS CD and FLAC FILE
Amazon.com
As a jam band in the vein of Blues Traveler and Phish, Spin Doctors built a grassroots following by playing anywhere and everywhere. After a live EP caught their early potential, they released this uncharacteristically tight debut album. Featuring several hits that could have appeared on a Steve Miller Band album, Kryptonite became an immediate frat-rock favorite. Thanks to a spotless production, the tight groove of "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong," "Two Princes," and "Jimmy Olsen's Blues" immediately connected with audiences who seemed to find singer Chris Barron's hapless hippie lyrics and goofy grin a winning combination. --Rob O'Connor

- Reviewed in the United States on April 17, 2019This is for the 2017 release on 180g vinyl. This recording was released in a day that LP’s were considered to be long gone so it’s nice to have a remastered release and this time a vinyl option. Out of the box the cover artwork is flawless there is a sleeve inside that houses the record that is paper and vinyl lined for audiophiles..nice. Liner notes, are separate inside, large and very well reproduced. Just FYI, the cover is single not a gatefold.. The record itself is 180g black vinyl pressed exquisitely and ultra quiet on playback. The master is flawless... the wide soundstage production fills the room with drums and a punchy clear deep bass guitar. Vocals are impeccable and guitar is just right on the mix. This master on vinyl rings home with crystal clarity. A fine, fine release for vinyl reasonably priced. You might as well get it while you still can. I highly recommend it! It’s rich ear candy destined to increase in value...happy spinning!

- Reviewed in the United States on August 25, 2016I am always reluctant when it comes to buying CDS from Amazon because sometimes they come scratched, which is the mail service's fault, not Amazon. But, this one came absolutely in perfect condition. Now, about the album, I had heard "Two Princes" in some crap TV show and I liked it, but I couldn't figure out the title so I gave up on looking for it. Then, in an Irish pub, they play it. Still couldn't find it. Two days ago, I was on Spotify, while doing my school work, and was in the 90's radio. "Two Princes" comes on. I fell in love all over again. So, I looked up the rest of the album and fell in love, then I immediately bought this album. A very good decision! The Spin Doctors are such a good band. Thanks to that crappy show on Lifetime, I can see that. Thanks Amazon!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2015I got roped into taking my girlfriend to a Hanson concert because her original companion flaked out on her.
Since I'm a normal, heterosexual male who appreciates music created by musicians and not chimpanzees with pencils and estrogen supplements, I, initially, refused to accompany her. In all fairness, not long before, I was tricked into going to another concert with this group of clowns called the Fall-Out Boys, whose name originates from their style of music, which requires that you have your skull irradiated until your brain is liquified in order to enjoy it.
Regardless, because I love my woman and feared retribution in the form of cold shoulders and firmed clenched legs, I agreed to go with her to see Hanson, with the single requirement that I didn't have to listen to it.
So, in combination with my handy Denon earbuds and a fully charged battery, I proceeded to rock out to SD, Korn and Jane's Addiction for the duration of the performance.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 8, 20234 stars for vinyl quality. Sound is great, but has edge warp that DNAP. Glad to finally have this one in my collection.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 15, 2013Rap and grunge were hugely popular in 1992 and 1993, so much so that the Spin Doctors seemed like something of a throwback when they attained their fame with "Pocket Full of Kryptonite." The group's two hits, "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong" and "Two Princes" were big radio hits in late 1992 and early 1993, but this album of pop, rock, and funk is strong from top to bottom--many at the time concurred, as it soared to the number 3 position on the Billboard album chart, and this collection of catchy songs still sounds great today.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2021While the title says Sony Canada, the pressing I got was the MOV done in EU. It sounds fantastic. This LP will likely not stay in print very long.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 8, 2021Love this CD. Listened to them when I was a kid. Brings back great memories. Fun upbeat music.
