Product description

For their 10th studio album, Siouxsie & The Banshees delivered an enthralling collection of songs that played with new textures, rhythms and studio techniques. Then, and now, it sounded like their greatest leap forward in a career of bold experimentation. The single ‘Kiss Them For Me’ was classic Banshees, unearthing its ripe sensuality in the darkest of terrains - when released as a single in May 1991 it went on to become their biggest US hit single to date. The following year Tim Burton personally requested a Banshees song for his film ‘Batman Returns’. The resulting ‘Face To Face’ is included here as a bonus track along with ‘Kiss Them For Me (Snapper Mix)’ and ‘Kiss Them For Me (Kathak #1 Mix)’ (never before released). This new edition of ‘Superstition’ was remastered under the supervision of the band and comes with extensive new sleeve notes.

Great half speed remaster - complete with etching

Great half speed remaster - complete with etching
I have this remaster on CD and never got the original vinyl. So was very happy to see this half-speed remaster cross my feed a few weeks back - at a reasonable price. So grabbed it.It’s a crisp recording - no surface noise. Nice packaging complete with 2 inner sleeves and anti-static inners too. Double vinyl with side 4 arty etching which follows the theme of the album artwork.I always liked the earlier Banshee material and bought this because it had everything else. I found it so-so back in the day but maybe that is because they played “Kiss them for me” to death. Listening to it now I can appreciate the album as a whole piece of work. Some great songs besides the well-known singles. Drifter and Cry - forgot how good they are.To be honest, as a Banshee fan you have to have this. And you probably already do…

This was the only banshees album I wasn't going to purchase. Having read lots of reviews and convincing myself it probably wasn't worth getting.
How wrong I was. Once again they proved they could move and change with the times.
There are lot of powerful and atmospheric songs on here. Wish I'd brought it years ago.

Unlike most S&B fans, I discovered them with Superstition and the single "Kiss Them For Me". I had been a fan of bands like The Cure, Pet Shop Boys and others for years, but had never been exposed to Siouxsie. I remember watching MTV endlessly trying to record the video on VHS, and when I did, I played it over, and over, and over. I had never heard anything like it before. Needless to say I went back through every album, and every record after Juju is on my all-time favorite list. But Superstition will always be a special album for me, because it opened up my ears to a new band and sound, and that influence has stayed with me for over 20 years. The remaster quality is excellent and the spirit of S&B runs deep through all the songs despite their production sheen (which I appreciate). It's a sophisticated album full of smart and complex songs.

Uno de los mejores álbumes de Siouxsie. Lp de Vinyl doble incluye Kiss them for me, shadowtime, silly thing, etc..

SIOUX PURR stition. this remastered version of satb's second to last full length studio recording is without a doubt very well done. the extras on here are just a wonderful 7'' version of ' face to face' and some very good extended remixes of ' kiss them for me' . trust me, these remixes are very well done. I usually could just do without remixes as most of them by even my most favorite bands are boreing at their best. siouxsie and co. always seem to know how to do this right. none of their remixes seem to be throbbing mental abandonment, they make a lot of sense. as for the main tracks, they are at the heart of what I call the banshees' great second sound. very few bands change their sound so radically like they did and become as good or better than where they started. I cant think of one thing these artists may have been trying to sound like that already existed. what they must have been influenced by I have not a clue. I just love that. 'softly' is the key track. it kind of brings the recording down to where they were trying to get. just one suggestion, listen to this for you, not for your friends. this was made for time alone.
