I cannot say enough about Arenson's books.....I am into the second book of this trilogy as we speak, and have difficulty putting it down to do daly chores. I think, once you have read any of his books, you will be as enthralledas we are. Great characters, well thought out, lets you feel with them, pray with them, and share their sorrows and happiness. Great author!

This trilogy was entertaining. The characters were not very fleshed out and occasionally acted very out of character. I thought most of the sex was gratuitous and some of it was out of place and a bit jarring. While mostly well-written with regards to sentence structure and grammar, the trilogy could use a good edit to prevent things like suddenly changing character names in a single paragraph, using plural forms when singular form is correct, and using possessive forms correctly.

The trilogy is really one book written in three parts, none of the books would stand alone. As an e-book reader, I find it particularly frustrating that an author calls one book, three books. Apparently, this is a common feature of fantasy series these days.

The story line is good, but the author gets bogged down in descriptions. If one character has just described the city they are approaching, repeating that description in the voice of another character does little to help the story.

I get this is fantasy, but if the dragon's clothes shift with them, why did Fidelity need to get spectacles for her dragon form? If she did need to have special spectacles made for her dragon form, "with lenses as big as a human head", and those spectacles don't shift to size between forms, "her spectacles slipping down her nose", where does she put the dragon spectacles when she shifts? That was just too much, and not really relevant to the story line, other than playing up the stereotypical librarian.

Quality of life and deadly enemies abound in this series. The dragons and their human nature are thoroughly explained and the different ways that things are possible. The dragons and their goals are the most important thing in this series. Whether or not they survive is the only answer that can happen in this series.

Requires for Dragons was a very good trilogy. If you like dragons and a bit of magic thrown in then read this trilogy. Daniel Arena on writes a good story and you want to care about the characters . There are more trilogy in this series so you can read on about Requiem. Hope everyone who tries these books enjoy them as I did.

The books were good, a lot of characters you needed to keep straight. Discription of each character was given a little to much. It had a lot of drama, emotions went from "are you serious" to "I'm about to choke someone" to wanting to "cry at the cruelty and injustice toward the innocent lives that were taken because of being different".

Kudos to writing a trilogy that ended with the third book!!! The story was fun and entertaining. At times it bogged down, seeming as if the good guys could never get a break but in the end... Sorry, that would be telling. You need to read them yourself, you'll be glad you did.

Great book frustrating slow at times but worth dragging ones eyes through the slow dragging parts of the story to pounce suddenly on a fast and gritty story.
The twists and turns of the story never say what the light or the falling was but as you read, read between the lines as the answer is there.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well written but not the most original book I've read
Reviewed in Australia on August 8, 2016
Cade is a young man who has been placed in the care of a humble family in an obscure village at a young age. When the village is destroyed and his family killed by the forces of the Cured Temple he must discover his true destiny… This scenario is a staple of fantasy and the twist here is that Cade can transform himself into a dragon, a once-common attribute which the Cured Temple has almost eradicated, and Cade and a handful of his fellow weredragons must overcome the might of the Cured Temple or be killed or enslaved by it. Daniel Arenson is a solid rather than inspired writer, and while the story is not particularly original it is well-crafted and moves along at a brisk pace, and the characters are far from one-dimensional stereotypes. He does occasionally have an unusual choice of names for his characters which some will find amusing and others (me included) silly and slightly distracting e.g. Mercy Deus, Kyrie Eleison and Dies Irae (no I’m not joking!) although Mercy is the only character who plays a central role in the book. While I quite enjoyed the trilogy, I won’t be rushing out to buy the other ‘Dragon’ books by Arenson as I suspect they’d be a bit similar.
