Artist bios

Rising like heatwaves from the desert with their searing hard rock sound, Las Vegas' Otherwise broke big in 2011 after their debut single, "Soldiers," became a streaming hit. The band continued to explore plaintive post-grunge and driving hard rock on subsequent efforts like Peace at All Costs (2014), Defy (2019), and Gawdzillionaire (2023).

Founded and led by brothers Adrian Patrick (vocals) and Ryan Patrick (guitar), both of whom are the group's sole consistent members, Otherwise honed their skills regionally, developing a loyal fan base with their emotional, hard-hitting sound built on soaring vocals and huge guitars. They released their eponymous full-length debut in 2006, followed by an EP, Some Kind of Alchemy, in 2009. After seeing a rapid rise in popularity based on their 2011 single "Soldiers," the band inked a deal with Century Media, which released their sophomore effort, True Love Never Dies, in 2012. The Enjoy the Pain EP was issued the following year, with the full-length Peace at All Costs arriving in 2014. The latter LP would be the group's highest-charting outing to date. 2017's Sleeping Lions would be their last release for Century Media, as the band would move to Mascot Records for their fifth studio long-player, 2019's Defy. 2022 saw the release of a string of high-octane singles, including the active rock hit "Full Disclosure," all of which appeared on the band's sixth full-length effort, Gawdzillionaire, in 2023. ~ James Christopher Monger
