Love only works when your heart is in the right place. Hers could be right next door...

Single mom Bridgette Dalton doesn't have time to stop and smell the roses - not even in her own flower shop. But that doesn't mean she hasn't noticed Bodhi Booker. Her ruggedly handsome next-door neighbor would be the perfect candidate for a no-strings fling. Having loved and lost, Bridgette's not ready to hand over her heart...but she could use a distraction.

Bodhi has one rule: never leave anyone behind. As a special operative, he knows that each new mission is more dangerous than the last. He's never made a promise of forever to a woman, not even to the beautiful widow who has him tied in knots. And if there were anyone who could tempt him into putting down roots, it would be Bridgette and her adorable son.

But as his next deployment nears, they make a startling discovery. Their passion, meant only for the here and now, might already be blossoming into something more...

Only For You captivated me from the first page! Melissa Foster’s pairing of widowed mom Bridgette Dalton with handsome, semi-retired special agent Bodhi Booker perfectly blends passion, humor and life in a small town. I adored Bodhi and Bridgette’s journey and read the book in one afternoon.

I love Melissa Foster’s characters because they are relatable, honest and their journeys are hard won. Bridgette is a hard working single mom who owns a busy florist shop. She relies on her family for support. Although, motherhood is her priority; she has definitely noticed her sexy next door neighbor. Both Bridgette and Bodhi have suffered the loss of a loved one. Bridgette’s husband died suddenly and she does not want to be left behind ever again. Bodhi‘s job is dangerous and he doesn’t want to leave a family behind if he doesn’t return home. His steadfast decision is deeply personal as his father died when he was young. Bodhi is due to report for training in two weeks. <i>So a quick, two week romance should work for the couple, correct?

The chemistry between the couple sizzles and it’s fabulous to see Bridgette come out of her shell, realize that she can be Louie’s mom and Bodhi’s lover. Loved the caring, protective side to Bodhi in the well- written, often humorous scenes with Bridgette’s son Louie. Only For You is filled with colorful, superbly crafted supporting characters. These characters add warmth, humor and a dose of reality to the story. Adored Bridgette’s mom, Roxie, and her hand cream/love potions, five-year old Louie with his astute dinnertime observations and Zane and Ben’s conversations with Bodhi.

Only for You is a feel good book; complete with a caring, loving hero, a slightly overwhelmed mother of a precocious five- year old, her fun, zany family and a very big dog. I was captivated by the couple and their sweet, sexy romance and didn’t want the two- week time frame to end. The novel pulls at the reader’s heartstrings – because it’s obvious that Bodhi and Bridgette love each other. <i>Can they take a leap of faith and take a chance at love?

The novel has a few surprises for the reader as Ms. Foster doesn’t write the typical happily ever after ending for this couple. The conclusion is perfect and the epilogue is FABULOUS. Louie steals the show!

    Loved It 😍

What an adorable book! Although I will say that if it wasn't for Louie I probably would have given this a 3 star rating, but that kid made this book. Usually while I am reading books with kids in it all I can think is "where is the kid?" or "the kid is going to walk in on you" and while I still thought that while reading this book I feel like the single mom plot of this book was done really well. This is my 3rd book in this world and definitely my favorite. Since the previous two books that I have read by this author felt very similar I was worried that I would get that feeling with this book, but I did not. It has a lot of the same things that I have now come to expect from a Melissa Foster book (it is a pretty quick, and steamy read. Full of family, lots of friends and mid to low angst), but as far as storyline this one felt different. We get a glimpse of Bodhi in the previous book, and obviously we see a Bridgette quite a bit in the first book. To be honest I was surprised that Bridgette's book was book two; I was so sure it would be Talia or Piper (and I am a little disappointed that Piper's book doesn't appear in this series but in the next one). This book had my attention from the beginning and kept it throughout the whole book. The chemistry and tension between these two characters is through the roof. I absolutely love both MC's. Bodhi was such a cinnamon roll hero, and Bridgette felt like a real person to me. We see her raising her son alone, running a business and fall in love and it didn't feel like unrealistic or over the top at all. I loved not only seeing these two fall for each other, but also the love that Bodhi had for Louie. This book really checked all of my romance book boxes it was sweet (I mean I would take a Bodhi) ,swoony, and steamy. I'm not usually a fan of instalove, but this one did good things for my soul. I feel like this book was very low angst, there was obviously a conflict, but what I really liked was that it wasn't like this whole misunderstanding or non communication situation. What made this book a 4 star not a 5 for me was Bodhi's issue with not wanting to be in a relationship; I get his hang ups but by the end of the book I was over it. All I could think was "y'all are in love, figure it out like adults", and I also felt like the end was a little rushed. I also didn't love that this book ended in an engagement. I feel like this book showed navigating the feelings of a child who's mom is dating very well, but then for it to end an engagement after just a few moths didn't sit well. I would have much more preferred to see a happy for now especially because there is another book in the series.

When our heart gets broke, instinct causes us to withdraw & curl up to protect it from hurt again. Often it takes something special, like a child's love, to pull us from such a dark & dismal part of our lives. Only the truly brave & strong open themselves up to the pain again. Bridgette lost her young husband in a horrible accident. She's dedicated her life to raising her son & trying to make up for him growing up without a father. She doesn't need a man in her life. Then she runs into Bohdi in her sister's bakery. Now he's all she can think about. What is she going to do?

Bodhi is an ex-soldier that is still running rescue missions trying to save the world. He doesn't want anyone left behind like his father was. He doesn't "do" relationships, only one night stands. He feels that way, no one is apt to get hurt if he doesn't make it back from a mission. Why does Bridgette & her son make him regret that?

Melissa Foster has given her readers another story of life, love, pain, & forgiveness. Bodhi has to realize no matter how many people he saves, it will never be his father. Bridgette needs to realize that she deserves to find love again. The attraction between them is hot, intense & all consuming. The characters are well developed & realistic. I loved the way they all interact with each other. Bridgette's sisters always have her back, even if they don't agree with what she is doing. This book may be the second in the series but can be read as a stand alone. I really can't wait to see what Ms. Foster comes up with for the next one!

When Bodhi a d Bridgette met for the first time in Willow's bakery, sparks immediately flew between the two of them. But, how do you say goodbye when you've barely said hello? How do you not fall in love when everything makes you do it?

Bridgette has not had an easy start after Louie's dad unexpectedly was killed in a car accident, leaving her to care for a 4 month old all by herself. She did a wonderful job bringing Louie up and swearing off men that when Brodhi Booker came in to her life it just turned her world upside down.

Bodhi has a dangerous job which makes him not want to settle down with someone and carry the burden of whether he will come home alive or not. The florist and her little boy next-door was as surprise, a good surprise that makes him want to change jobs. But how do you walk away from the one thing you've known your whole life.

I love how they both navigated their "here and now" situation. The emotions that Melissa Foster wants you to feel is so real. Not only that, the book perfectly describes how everyone who goes out to serve every country and the love ones they left behind feel. They sacrifice everything just so we can all live in a safe world.
