Noah Cyrus may have been homeschooled, but don’t assume she's in the dark about prom. “My mom’s favorite thing to talk about is her high school prom,” she says with a laugh. “When I was growing up, she was always like, ‘Man, I wish you could go to one.’
Well, not only has she been to two, but the singer is also on the cover of Seventeen's new Prom issue. And inside, she opens up about who makes the best dates, her secrets to a stress-free night, and so much more (including her ultimate prom playlist).

On which of her sisters she'd take to prom:
“Both Miley and Brandi would be so fun, but the most fun would probably be Brandi. She loves a good party, she loves dance floors, and she’s the most fun person ever.”
On the right prom date:
“Guys are awesome, but I vote for going to prom with a group of friends. It’s so much less drama. You know when you’re on a date and you’re like, ‘I want to kiss this person,’ but you don’t know if they want to kiss you? Going with my friend was great, because there wasn’t any of that ‘Gosh, are we gonna kiss?’ pressure.”
On loving yourself to feel the most confident:
“I normally feel insecure in tighter clothes, but right now I’m in a place where I’m actually happy with my body. The second I realized that weight and all that stuff doesn’t matter—it’s whatever makes you happy—it changed my life.”
On using accessories to edge up a look:
“I have a septum ring that I always keep pushed up in my nose, but if I put on a dress and think it’s just a little girly for me—boom!—I pop out my septum ring. Or I might throw on a big pair of hoop earrings—or a diamond choker. That’s fancy, but not too proper or elegant because it’s still a choker! It’s all about making it your own.”
