Landon Edmunds, a cowboy born and bred, has had his rodeo dreams realized and then dashed by a career-ending injury. Back in his hometown working at Horseshoe Home Ranch, he yearns for a new beginning with a ranch of his own. His sights are set on buying a horse ranch to train rodeo horses, but his plans take a detour when his high school best friend, Megan Palmer, steps back into his life.

Megan, the reverend's daughter, has returned to Gold Valley with a mission: to refurbish her father's church so he can retire in peace. She turns to Landon for help, and their old camaraderie soon ignites into something hotter. Megan believes that God has guided her back to her hometown for a reason, and she dares to hope that Landon could be her forever cowboy. But with Landon contemplating leaving town again, their budding romance might never bloom.

As they work together and delve deeper into their faith, Megan and Landon must decide if their future lies within the comforting borders of Gold Valley or out in the wide, beckoning world.

Will they choose to follow their hearts, or will they let true love slip through theirfingers again?

"Through the Mist" was very well written, and after the second book of this series- very refreshing! I absolutely loved everything about this novel. I loved the characters, the story-line, and the way everything was presented. I was very pleased with how the novel turned away from the way "After the Fall" was written and back to the typical writing style of Ms. Isaacson.

The story of Belle's brother Landon leads us back to Gold Valley, and to the pastor's daughter who just moved back into town to spruce up the church. Neither Megan nor Landon was looking for a relationship, and definitely not looking for love, but that doesn't stop Belle and Jace from pushing them in that direction. With both of these two looking for something different, something to complete them, maybe they are what each other is looking for!

I would just like to say that there are over 6 books in this series (so far), and I am not normally a fan of series that run this long (unless they really hold your attention); however, Mrs. Isaacson grabs your attention with the multiple characters throughout the many novels and manages to keep them all tied together without having to repeat herself a multitude of times throughout each story. Wonderful job, if you enjoy one, you will enjoy all of them.

A sweet romance full of hope, fear, and love. Another great book by this author. The two had been hurt in past relationships but with a little faith, understanding and compromise - makes the ending amazing.

Of interedt is the writers interest in the sense of smell. I have read all three books in the gold valley series and this remarkable item stands out for me. Sense of smell is closely linked to parts of the brain that process emotion and memory. The stories are filled with emotion, deep descriptions of Landon and Belle. Their past memories influence their emotions and their fight to stay focused on what God wants of them. I appreciate the respect the writer gives to relationships, the need to respect self and then others. When single adults fall in love it is no easy feat to down play the emotional and hormonal upheaval they go through. A great read. It is recommended to young adults who love God first and are looking for love.

Even though Landon loves working at Horseshoe Home Ranch he feels something is missing in his life and feels that it is time to move on and start his own ranch in another state. Then he meets Megan and starts to have feelings for her and wonders if he should chance his plans. Megan moved back after an embarrassment and breakup with her boyfriend after he took all her money and money from many others. Landon still feels the call to move and start his own ranch but doesn't know how he can do that and have Megan too. Will their faith allow them to overcome their pasts and move on to the future together? What happens when problems arise with the property Landon bought in Utah and he needs to leave right away?

Liz has done it again and written another wonderful book. Love this series.

This is a wonderful book! Megan's ex-fiancé cheated many out of their money, including Megan. She moved back home to help her dad and take time to get over the hurt. Landon's been back for a few years after his rodeo accident, working on his sister's ranch. He's trying to get over the anger of his fiancé's infidelities. When Megan asks for his help in repairing her dad's church, he agrees. Landon knows he needs a change of pace, but dreams of buying his own ranch to train horses for the rodeo. Can he and Megan trust each other, getting over their past hurts? This story focuses on knowing what God has planned for us, listening to Him and letting go of our own plans.

I was disappointed in this latest story in the series. What is it with these emotionally scarred Cowboys? No wonder he and Jace are friends. The characters were both erratic, first feeling this, then that, having issue with this and then that, both of them running around in emotional turmoil. Megan was no better. I couldn't like her or understand her motivation. There wasn't enough depth to the characters or the plot. It was helter skelter all over the place. Frankly I wouldn't have wanted either one of them. I thought Ms. Isaacson could do better than this.

I loved Landon when I met him in book one and was thrilled to see him have a story of his own. He seemed so sweet and one that I would love to meet in person. Despite his ups and downs it seemed his family was always there to help pull him back. It was great to see Belle and Jace again and see how they are doing.

Megan seemed very sweet although a bit frustrating at times. At the end though I loved her and she and Landon have a very interesting relationship throughout the book. I can't wait to read more.

Another great book in the Gold Valley series. I have read most of the Brush Creek series, so I really enjoyed getting the back story on Landon and Megan and how they came to Brush Creek. It was a great romance, but I felt some of the issues were left unresolved, especially in respect to their past love lives. I wish there had been a little more on how they overcame them or even if they did for sure, but overall I enjoyed the book and would read it again.

Although at first I couldn't get into the story, it grabbed about a third of the way through and I couldn't put it down. The themes of moving on after hurt, faith, prayer and finding God's will captured my attention. Through it all I wondered if Landon and Megan would actually end up together.

I enjoyed this book so much so that I reread it before posting this review!

Landon and Megan are intriguing characters who both have their own plans for their future whilst trying to listen to and follow the plans that God has for them both individually and as a couple. I loved the character of Landon, and like others, found Megan to be a little bit infuriating at times especially when it came to the subject of money! I love how Liz regularly brings back characters from previous books- for example, Landon is the brother of Belle who we met in her love story with Jace ( GV book 1) and both return in this book. I feel that adds more realism to the books as well as provide a wonderful insight into the next chapter of their stories.

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

When the small church in their community asks him for some help with a few handyman projects,he hesitates because Megan, the pastor's daughter, is his former girlfriend. Follow the twists and turns of this relationship as Landon and Megan figure out if they have a future together.
