The ranch foreman, the fiery interior designer he hires, and an old flame that could burn them both…

Jace Lovell, still nursing a wounded heart after being jilted at the altar, has dedicated himself to becoming the best foreman at Horseshoe Home Ranch. When he decides to hire an interior designer to please the ranch owner's wife, he didn't expect to be faced with a familiar face from his past.

Belle Edmunds, back in Gold Valley after losing her job at a high-profile design firm, is desperate to build a portfolio for her dream of starting her own business. Answering the job ad for Horseshoe Home Ranch, she finds herself face-to-face with her previous crush, Jace. Despite their shared past and differing viewpoints, an undeniable spark flickers between them.

As they navigate the challenges of working together, they grapple with their escalating attraction. But Jace is still far from forgiving his runaway bride, and he's unsure whether he's ready to let someone as vibrant and passionate as Belle into his guarded heart. Can Belle's patience and faith help Jace find the path to forgiveness and lead them to discover their own slice of happily-ever-after?

Love Liz Isaacson’s books. Another’s series with great characters and good clean romance. Loved the storyline with Jace and Belle. Looking forward to more.

"Give yourself time. He’d been enjoying the slow pace of his relationship with Belle. It had taken him weeks and weeks to kiss her, and now that he could do that, he wasn’t jumping to the next step. Truth was, Jace could still hardly believe that she wanted to be with him. Him, who still felt so broken sometimes, so unworthy of the attention of a beautiful woman like Belle, so stuck on what had happened to him in the past." Jace.

"“Sure.” He slipped his hand into hers as they started walking, and Belle’s worries calmed. She wasn’t even sure why she’d been worried. Because he hadn’t texted back on Friday night? Because he hadn’t come to church?"

This is a fast-paced christian romance with enough suspension to keep you guessing. Though sometimes it slows down. Especially in the middle of the story, and the storyline becomes stretched out.
Jace was jilted at his wedding day and was hiding away on the ranch. As the rancher manager, his responsibilities and interaction with the rest of the cowboys made him a loveable and believable character.
Belle was running from the city after a harsh dismissal at work. Both their trust is shattered. To pick up the pieces is not so easy. She had to get her confidence back and never lost her spark. The one thing that attracted Jace to her. When the two meet, you know that these two are made for each other but have a past to deal with.
The back-and-forth tug of war didn't help and their faith was tested as they try to manage the pain and hurt they both experienced.
At times, the soul searching was dragged out a bit, with too many repeats of the same scenario that slowed down the reading experience.
Both had to make a choice and trust God to make the right decisions. Belle, whose desire it was to begin her own designing company, had a few hurdles to face.
The relation between them had some beautiful moments and Jace really tried very hard to get past his own objection to accept Belle in his life.
Definitely a good read with exceptional moments.

Growing up together, Jace Lovell and Belle Edmunds never saw eye to eye on anything resulting in many sparring matches. When Belle returns home and is hired by Jace to remodel Horseshoe Home Ranch their casual jabs at each other still exist, but now there's something more- a strong attraction that draws them together and that neither can deny exists. Although he is more than interested in Belle, Jace is gun shy about beginning a new relationship after being gilted at the altar just a few short months before. Recognizing the remnants of hurt and vulnerability this event caused, Belle steadfastly demonstrates her commitment to him by taking things slowly and making life changes to show Jace she wants something deeper. In the end, Jace has to decide to trust her with his heart if he wants any chance of a future with Belle.

This was the first novel I've read by Isaacson, and can I just say that her novels will have a permanent home on my shelf! This story was rich in emotional turmoil, the excitement (and tentativeness) found in a budding romance, tension between the two main characters, forgiveness, and the redemption of second chances!

This review contains my own thoughts and opinions. I have not been compensated in any way from the publisher or the author.

When I downloaded this book from Amazon it carried the title of The Redesigned Ranch, but when it came up on my iPad the title was Falling for Her Boss. Actually, either title is appropriate. Frankly, Ms. Isaacson is capable of doing better than what I saw in this story. Over and over again I found myself drifting off as I read. Jace is definitely not a cowboy romance hero. He is far too self-absorbed. And Belle is far from a classic romance heroine. These protagonists simply did not keep me glued to my iPad. Evidently, I have been spoiled by reading mostly five-star authors over the past few months. The only suspense I witnessed as I read was to discover which protagonist was the least admirable. Jace’s absorption with being dumped by his ex-fiancée, Wendy, took far too much word space. In retrospect, the story was an OK read as it maintained Christian clean reading standards. In my humble opinion, it rates no more than a Three-Star review.

Belle and Jace were not ready for a new relationship, they had both been let down by love before. They had a lot to prove to themselves before they were ready to try again. This is a romantic story about their healing and their experiences and how they develop the strengths they need.

Belle and Jace used to annoy each other at school. A year between them Belle is younger sister to Jace's friend Landon, who introduces her as the last interior designer for interview at the ranch where Jace is foreman.
Both Jace and Belle are coming through difficult circumstances and he finds it hard to trust again. Belle wants to give him space as they reconnect after she returns home and needs the job redesigning the interior of the ranch buildings. But the waiting for Jace brings back insecurities too.
It is interesting to see how they both change and develop, the emotions that they go through as they find healing together. Though not so straightforward, there are moments when misunderstandings happen and bring setbacks. Trust grows and love wins out in the end.
I enjoyed this book and recommend it as a good read, I will read more of this series.

I received this book free for an honest review.

I watched the author on a podcast about her writing and was interested enough in her and her success to give one of her free books a try. I do not read romance. Ever. I expected it to be cringey but I just needed to know and as it was free I was happy to give it a try.

I loved it. I read it in 3 days. The romance was sweet. I was not prepared for that. I always thought of romance as steamy and eye-roll inducing but this was genuinely refreshing to read about - the hand holding and focus on them as people was just... really nice. I am not Christian, and found their references to their belief and God to be present but never overbearing.

My one criticism is that the book seemed to end SO SUDDENLY. My kindle was telling me I was 85% through and then it ended and I was kinda bummed about that as I'd anticipated anothre 15% but that was just a snippet for another story.

Overall, a pleasant surprise! Not sure if I'm a convert to romance JUST yet but it's definitely changed my perspective which I always enjoy when something can do that :)

I love Liz Isaacson's books. They cover many topics; Christian faith, discovery of oneself, personal loss and/or gain, and strength to deal with life's problems. Belle was fired from her job, and Jake was abandoned by his fiance at the alter. They meet amid personal fireworks.

Conversation with Wendy seemed odd , surely she knew who the letting agents were , when she took on the lease ??
Jase is or was confused 😕 but should have trusted his gut feelings
