- Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2024Absolutely freaking amazing! If you don’t get it, it’s your loss. Plain and simple.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2016WHY this record was not a smash in the us 46 years ago when it came out i will never know but if you liked deep purple especially then you will love this 2 cd deluxe set, the heep catlog has been done many times over the past 25 years on cd, it is hard to tell you where to start but for the price this ultra expanded edition is probably the place, ive been a heep fan for over 30 years now and this was the first album with there most classic line up that would go on with the exception of a couple of members passing away and leaving the band until 1976 when lead vocalist david byron left the band after the high and mighty record and tour, anyway this awesome british hard rock album is a must own for any fan of old school hard rock including old school metal bands like accept, the scorpions, judas priest, iron maiden saxon and most nwobhm bands for example, all those bands took something from uriah heep, the remastering sounds great here and on the bonus disc you get some different mixes of some of these songs as well as some pre uriah heep tracks like born in a trunk wich is from when heep where called SPICE in the late 1960s, i got into uriah heep back in 1982 when i first heard the abominog album but that is another story, i have every uriah heep record from this one to the most recent one outsider from 2014, start here and go from here if you are not to familiar with uriah heep, if you are well then im suprised you read this far, heep is right up there with other british heavyweights like UFO, NAZARETH, STATUS QUO,WISHBONE ASH, BUDGIE, THIN LIZZY, BULLDOG BREED,DEEP PURPLE RAINBOW AND QUITE A FEW OTHERS.......this also comes in a nice slipcase with great liner notes................
- Reviewed in the United States on August 9, 2020Great album. from Gypsy to Wake Up. The other songs Lucy's Blues is a great song and Come Away Melinda is my favorite..
- Reviewed in the United States on August 21, 2018Recieved my copy with the usual dinged corner Digi-pack ,the CD itself has the album plus extra tracks, most of the tracks are not essential, just the basic album is all you need.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 25, 2016This new (2016) release sounds GREAT. Disc one is the original album, crystal clear with some punch. The entirety of disc 2 is alternate takes and unreleased tracks. A pleasure to listen to - looking forward to others in this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 12, 2015Very good, bluesy hard rock. If youre looking for early 70s hard rock/metal, than this is right up your alley. Fans of Zeppelin, Sabbath, Deep Purple and the like will want to add this band to their collection.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 15, 2023Very disappointed they took away all bass and drums making the sound fell without soul . The package case is impressive nothing compared with the quality sound.
If the music really matter to you no buy it.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 17, 2017Incredible remaster for an incredible debut album. Never realized there were such
jazz influences on several songs. Very evident on 2nd cd.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ein damals völlig unterschätztes Album - heute ein Klassiker!
