    Upon first learning of the Deluxe Version of The Original Broadway Cast of "funny girl": I was told it contained the Original Broadway Cast Recording on Record and CD. Since I already owned the recording on both those genres by then: I chose not to buy it. Upon reading a Biography of Barbra Streisand: I discovered that many songs had been eliminated from the Score, including one by Nick singing a lullaby to his Infant Daughter. Upon tagging onto this product on Amazon: I was told it contained 2 CD's. Consequently: I concluded the second would contain the songs omitted from the Original Recording. Upon receiving it, however: I discovered it was 2 copies of The Original Broadway Cast, just as I had originally concluded. When Amazon claimed it was 2 Discs: Perhaps it was implying that one was a Record and the other CD. Whatever the case: It's 2 exact copies of the Musical on Vinyl and on CD. Having that established: I'm very happy to have new recordings of this Album on Record and CD. As you might imagine: MY record has become extremely worn over the years. As for the CD: It may have been remastered since I got mine in I believe 1993. Anyhow: I'm perfectly satisfied and contented with my purchase, and would highly recommend it to any devout fan of Barbra Streisand, or the Original Cast of a sensational Musical. Thank you very much!

    Having been privileged enough to have seen Barbra Streisand in the original production on Broadway four times (I was an early fan), and having worn the Original Cast Recording, as well as the movie soundtrack, paper thin, this 50th anniversary release (of the Broadway production) offers a re-mastered CD, which is wonderful to hear, as well as a re-mastered copy of the vinyl LP. There's a deluxe souvenir book included, with lots of great facts and rarely published photos. All in all, it's a great collector's item for the avid fan. Although the suggested retail price is rather steep, it is possible to get new copies at reduced prices. Worth every penny, in that case!

    I received the 50th anniversary edition of Funny Girl. When I received this collectors edition, it was more than I expected. The packaging was well thought out. The booklet was large and beautiful. I don't think Ms. Streisand is making the money off of this as Capitol Records has not made too many of these sets. I think this set is perfect for those who are serious collectors of Streisand merchandise. To create packaging for a limited edition release is expensive to say the least. Especially one of this quality. I can only guess that this will increase in value over time. Not that expect to let go of this anytime soon. At least not in this lifetime!

    Ja 75,- Euro oder teilweise wird ja auch mehr dafür verlangt ist sehr viel Geld, vielleicht auch zuviel. Aber unabhängig davon ist diese LP-Box wirklich sehr hochwertig aufgemacht und verarbeitet. Es handelt sich um eine LP-Box, so wie man sie von Klassik-LP-Boxen kennt. Diese Box ist innen zusätzlich mit einer Art Samt-Stoff (oder Nicki? bin da kein Experte) verkleidet. Das Booklet ist auf hochwertigem, dickem Papier gedruckt und im gleichen Format wie die Box selbst. Zusätzlich befindet sich darin die Vinyl-LP im Gatefold-Cover, so wie die Originalausgabe. Die CD ist nicht einfach lose beigelegt, sondern befindet sich in einer dicken Papphülle, die auch noch einmal so groß ist wie eine LP-Hülle. Bei der CD handelt es sich um die remasterte Version des Funny-Girl Albums.
    So das sind die Fakten, ob man soviel Geld dafür ausgeben will, ist natürlich jedem selbst überlassen. Die Vergangenheit hat aber auch gezeigt, dass solche Veröffentlichungen, wenn sie erst einmal vergriffen sind (out of print), im Wert sogar steigen. Für einen Fan und Sammler ist das natürlich schön zu wissen aber letztendlich egal, da man sein Sammelstück sowieso nicht mehr verkauft. :)

    Fazit: Tolle Box für - zugegebenermaßen - viel Geld, aber für Fans und Sammler auf jeden Fall lohnenswert.
