"Taylor Lavati has proven to be a wonderful writer & has made her way onto my list of favorite authors pretty quickly." Amy B
"One for readers at the older end of the 'young adult' spectrum, The Thousand Year Curse is clearly the work of a gifted young writer. ...what struck me most about the book was the deft and surprisingly mature touch of the author." Jay G
"I fell in love with Taylor's writing when I read the first book in her Curse Books. When I opened this book {A Reliant Love} I wasn't positive what would be waiting on the other side for me, but I was certain it would be a reading adventure. Taylor didn't disappoint." Bestselling author Jesse Kimmel-Freeman
"I absolutely loved this story {For The Love of Ash} and how beautifully it was written and flowed together. I have reread it 4 times now!" Taylor K
"I never thought I would read a "zombie book", much less love one. The Last Legacy really surprised me. Even with the whole people-eating-people thing, it was a fantastic book." Melannie S

- Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2015First off, this book is just awesome. at first I was doubtful, I mean the first book is so sad and so good and dont need more to it but after reading this book, I must say I am so in love with Sam that it really hurts.
The book is really really good written and keeps the reader captured from first to last word. The feelings are so real, the story is so real. its a bit scary to think about it. I will read Finding Sam more than once due to how well written the book is and how real the feelings are. I mean wow, I dont think it can be any better than this
- Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2016This is an amazing book. The series catches on your heart strings and you can't help but feel every emotion while reading Taylor Lavati's words. I read the first and couldn't focus on any other book till I read this, and I'm so glad I did.
The struggles Sam encounters while learning to deal with Nat's death, the possibility of not running anymore, and maybe love is just incredible. The relationships he builds while stuck in Sterling, CO are perfect to help him through his issues.
So cliche, but you'll laugh and cry and get so mad, but in the end you'll love it just as I do.
10 stars for Taylor!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 20164 stars even with the editing issues, the story is that good.
This is a complex story about a young man who blames himself for the deaths of those around him. At first, it was the deaths of people close to him; however this morphed to his feeling responsible for any death that occurred in his near vicinity. He is extremely neurotic, anxious, depressed, and I suspect, suicidal.
It does not help that he is lacking in parental support- the rents you love to hate.
You just KNOW it's going to take a very special girl to reach him. It won't be easy. Sam's thoughts jump a little all over the place, his mind is racing. He's anxious and desperate. Sometimes it's difficult for me to follow, other times I hope they are going to do a very thorough final reedit for this book.
Sam is not an Alpha. This is not that kind of story. This is a wounded bird who needs love to restore his faith in life and his ability to soar free and live free without fear of living under a curse.
Sam's not completely lost. There are so many hopeful signs that Sam will find himself and his heart again. In particular, Sam finds and abandoned dog he names Lucky on his travels and takes responsibility for him. The curative powers of therapy dogs and emotional support animals.
Izzy, the love interest, also has a dog killer, who's not really a killer.
Lucky, Killer, and Izzy provide a great deal of comedic relief for the story and Sam's broken heart. This story is further proof that love can heal all wounds-even the ones caused by loves misadventures.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2017Between reading these two books my eyes are so puffy and red from crying that I must read something funny! Super books! Very well done. I am a recovering addict of over 27 years of being clean alcohol was my original drug of choice , then I found cocaine, not even funny,
- Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2015I was so looking forward to Sam's redemption but I was a bit disappointed in this book after reading A Reliant love. It took me a while to get into it, but I wanted to finish it and now I can't remember what it was about, except that it was disappointing. The Author's writing was okay, but the storyline was disappointing. I thought the story would have been written maybe a year after Sam's girlfriend died, but it was actually a continuation of book 1.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 18, 2016Despite the fact the emotional backstory to Finding Sam is quite heartbreaking, the majority of this story made me smile and filled me with hope for Sam, the main character!
After the devastation of losing his fiancee Nathalie in a freak car accident, Sam blames himself. He thinks he is cursed and that everyone around him will be hurt because of it. He is harbouring a lot of guilty feelings. Therefore Sam feels he has no choice but to leave, get as far away from everyone he cares about as he can, to save them. As soon as Nathalie’s funeral is over, Sam ups and leaves, without telling a soul, taking just one bag of belongings with him, Nathalie’s engagement ring and a picture of them together. He just hops in his car and off he goes, without having any real destination or plans in mind.
After days of travelling, Sam has a blowout on his tyre, he stops to fix it. He feels something wet on his arm, looks from under the car and there is a dog. Right in the middle of the highway. No one around that she could belong to. Sam can’t leave her there alone so she joins him on his journey. His wheel doesn’t look right so Sam decides to stop at the next garage he see’s to have it checked. Turns out he needs some pretty pricey work done on his car that could take a few weeks. He’s recommended a place to try for a room at the general store of a very small town in Colorado. Trying to find the general store, Sam enters a small bakery to ask where to find it, it’s here that Sam meets Izzy. Immediately Sam thinks she is beautiful, but wow can she talk, she never stops. Izzy shows Sam over to the general store, which just happens to be run by her Grandpa, Lenny. Lenny offers the room to Sam in exchange for him doing some work around the shop. Sam agrees, as along with paying for the car repairs, he cant really afford to pay for some where to stay.
Sam still has the dog he came across, who he names Lucky, tagging along with him. He becomes attached to Lucky, she somehow calms him.
Sam struggles daily, trying to suppress the urge to score some cocaine, waking up every night after nightmares of Nathalie telling him he killed her, and fighting an attraction to Izzy. It’s obvious Izzy wants Sam, but he feels he is betraying Nathalie and he just cant do that. So he jumps into the list of jobs Lenny gives him to do around the store to keep his mind occupied. The longer Sam stays in the small, very quiet town, he soon discovers that both Izzy and Lenny have their own heartbreaking secrets. Can Sam stick around, forgive himself for his past sins and try to move on? Will he ever be able to forget that he thinks he is cursed? Will Sam allow himself another chance at love or is he destined to be alone forever?
After a heart wrenching ending to A Reliant Love, I was curious as to where Taylor would take Finding Sam. I knew this would be another emotional rollercoaster of a book. All the way through I was rooting for Sam. I wanted him to be able to heal and move forward. Sam is so full of self loathing and guilt, and all he is really thinking about underneath is about no more people getting hurt that are around him. You will, without a doubt fall in love with Sam in this story, if you hadn’t already.
Izzy has her own secrets but she doesn’t let them bring her down. She is bubbly, out-going and in your face and chatty. Her secrets make her want to live her life, not as a downer who lets her past rule her.
I love that the dog, Lucky, actually has a huge role in this story. She’s a healer. She can sense Sam’s different emotions. I loved her!
Taylor Lavati is a super talented author, this story is so totally beautifully written. This series as a whole is, in my opinion amazing! Taylor sure knows how to write. Her words don’t make you feel as if you are just reading a book, you are made to feel the emotion in these stories, you are along for the ride, joining the journeys the characters take as if you are right there with them.
All I want to do is gush about how amazingly brilliant this series is. The true to life feelings it invokes, the imagery the descriptive writing creates, it all gripped me. Such create writing. Safe to say I am totally fan girling over Taylor Lavati right now!
This story needed to be written. After reading it and feeling such intense feelings after A Reliant Love, we needed to read Sam’s story. We needed to see his journey of self discovery, restraint, forgiveness. To put your mind at ease. Get me…… Talking about this book like its real life. That is just what this story brings out in you, I feel. Passionate.
This is definitely a story, that I say everyone has to read. Just be prepared for some up and down emotions and keep a box of tissues close by!

5.0 out of 5 stars Finding Sam
Finding Sam starts right were Reliant Love ended. Sam is full of self loathing and decides that it would be better for everyone if he just leaves. So we follow Sam on his journey of redemption and maybe getting second chances of love.
