Snowed in With the Cowboy (Horseshoe Home Ranch Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 923 ratings

A healing cowboy, his maid, and the forbidden relationship that begins when they get snowed in together...

Sterling Maughan, once a renowned snowboarder, is in self-imposed exile at his family cabin after a tragic accident stole his career. Lost and without purpose, solitude is his only companion until an unexpected visitor disrupts his isolation.

Norah Watson, not just a housekeeper but a counselor at Silver Creek, an equine rehabilitation center for troubled teens, has been using Sterling's cabin as a retreat for her girls. She sees the deep despair that Sterling is trying to hide, and despite her own burdens - caring for her mentally ill mother and three half-brothers - she can't help but reach out.

When Sterling learns about a job opening at Silver Creek, he turns to Norah for help. As he learns to work with horses and help the boys at the center, he also begins to heal himself.

The more time they spend together, the more Norah fears revealing her own troubled past, her modest home, and her challenging family. Yet, Sterling finds himself drawn to everything about Norah. As his body mends, so does his faith.

But can Norah trust Sterling enough to let him into her life and give their unexpected and forbidden love a chance?

Sterling has shattered his left leg in a snowboarding accident that may end his career. So he is home at Six Sons Cabin and has made himself a little nest in the basement where he can order food and take his meds and basically shut out life. His girlfriend is no longer in the picture since she showed herself by not cutting off her microphone and meeting her other boyfriend and having it broadcast all over. So when he hears someone come into the house he makes his way up to the main level not knowing what he will find and finds the most enchanting woman, who doesn't know how to dance, dancing to the most awful loud music he has ever heard. He is smitten! Norah has come to clean the cabin for not only the owner, but, for her and the girls she mentors, with the approval from Nancy the homeowner, that weekend. Will Sterling let her continue with her plans? Will he call his mother to make sure Norah is telling him the truth? What happens when Norah goes downstairs and notices his "nest"? So many things to consider! What happens next? Only one way to find out, read this great story by Liz Isaacson and Elana Johnson.

I am a new reader of Liz Isaacson romance, liking her writing style so much I now have gotten books from three of her series. And I have enjoyed every single book so far. The fact that the books are about romance yet are cleanly written and include God is awesome. Sometimes you need a break from the heavy stuff. I do however have a question about this books cover. If Sterling met and fell in love with a black woman, why is there not a black woman on the cover? I'm just asking because that's kinda odd.

The author gives an exceptional narrative of the journal of the two main charcaters, Nora and Sterling. Sterling is aptly named for his sterling portrayal of doubt, frustration, forgiveness of self and others and acceptance. Nora is portrayed as a wise woman, awesome ability to live others except herself and this is the reality that it takes lots of hard work and time to reach a point of self acceptance. Faith in a power higher than them assisted them to seek refuge in their life's journey aftervtgey both fell.... A very good read, clean story.

How do you deal with the death of your dreams? Can that very loss be God’s loving way of leading you to a better future? Both the hero and heroine of this story have seen their dreams die and experienced betrayal by those who should have taken care of them. She is afraid to trust anyone, while he mourns the loss of the sport he loved, doubting God’s love for him. Mutual attraction, insecurities, scheming relatives, and struggles with socioeconomic differences all make this book complex and worthwhile.

A sweet, touching romance. Never feeling like she’s good enough leave Norah hiding from her future. Sterling recovering from an accident that could end his career, finds more out od life than he ever dreamed possible. With faith, trust and honesty, the author drew me into the story and I couldn’t put it down. I loved Silver Creek and the job that it does. Can’t wait to read book 3.

Sterling is a professional snowboarder who was injured and is staying at his family home in the mountains to recuperate. Norah is a counselor at a teen rehab facility and also cleans houses up in the mountain. She cleans the family home of Sterling's parents and his mom has told her she could bring the teen girls their at the halfway point in their treatment. Sterling thinks she is breaking in and finds out different. During their time together they form a friendship and because of her he starts his therapy instead of relying on drugs. They finally acknowledge that they have an attraction to each other but Norah doesn't believe that some like him could truly care for someone like her. She doesn't tell him about her past with drug abuse and when he finds out he is very upset and won't talk to her. Will Sterling believe her when she finally tells him the truth about her past abuse and family situation? Will Norah finally believe that Sterling can and does love her and doesn't care what anyone else thinks? Will they be able to count on their faith to get them through this?

This author always does a great job with creating characters who come to life and are fallible yet lovable. I enjoyed the journey Sterling made from being mostly despondent to caring about life. And I especially liked Norah who still struggled with a desire to escape, but took care of her siblings and did her best to overcome temptations.

An interesting story. Unusual for some one who was raised with wealth and a,celebrated athlete to fall so quickly for someone from the other side of the tracks. Sterling was, very patient with Norah. She,had,a,hard time believing she, was, worthy of his, love. Gave it 4 stars

Professional snowboarder Sterling Maughan had an accident that ended his career. He became depressed as he hid away in a cabin. He didn’t do any therapy and just hung out with the television on and lived on pizza which he ordered in.

Norah Watson cleans the cabin for his mother. She works as a counselor at Silver Creek, a teen rehabilitation center. She senses that Sterling needs help to heal mentally as well as physically. She mentions about a job opportunity for him at Silver Creek. He takes her up on it, applies for the job and is accepted. Norah drives him every day to work and interest in each other grows.

Norah has her own past which she hides but Sterling wants to learn more about her. Where will life take them? What major decisions will each of them have to make? Life is all about changes, challenges and decisions. Will they make the best ones for themselves?

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderfully written story.

A wonderfully written story encapsulating two main characters that both have depth, baggage and internal/spiritual struggles. This is a clean romance and if you have read other Liz Isaacson novels then you know what you are getting and that is well rounded characters, beautiful settings and romance. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know new characters whilst seeing glimpses of characters previously seen.

I received and ARC from the author for an honest review.

This is an enjoyable romance book with lots of thought on how we accept others. Especially those who have had problems and we tend to judge forgetting only God is the judge.

Another awesome read from Ms. Isaacson! I could relate to Norah but kept wanting to tell her to tell Sterling about her home and her past, to trust him. The story kept me enthralled as to how it was going to come to the right conclusion. After all Norah and Sterling had to end up together!
