Logan has taken a job as a small town sheriff after leaving the Marines. He never expected to open the town's cafe door and find a beautiful won. There's something about her that he can't pinpoint.
Julia relocated to town after a divorce that had blindsided her. The mother of twin girls, she was looking for a place to start over. A safe place to raise her girls.
Like all Ms. Eckhart's books, you'll fall in love with her characters, love the setting, and find the plots both inventive and heartwarming. I recommend all of her books, having read many of them--there are more on my list , and know you'll find friends behind each cover!

Once again, the author gives us a touching story with some suspense, and romance.
Logan Wilde, former Marine, was injured in a roadside bomb and is still struggling with some PTSD.
Now he is the new sheriff in a small town. His first day brings him face to face with Julia Cooper, the owner of the local cafe.
Julia is divorced , with a set of twin girls and a woman who, because of her Dad experienced the effects of a Marine coming back from the war. But the attraction is there and when someone takes one of the twins, she turns to Logan for help.
It’s a fast paced, well developed story with complex characters.
Kudos to the author for reminding us of the effects combat has on the brave men and women who fight so that we can enjoy freedom. As well as a reminder that as a nation, we need to do more for them upon their return.
Another very good story in this series.

Lorhainne Eckhart = Excellent. Easy to follow and realistic storyline. Believable characters with distinct personalities and entertaining dialogue.

    Logan's way:
“You may not agree with me, but you don’t get to argue with me,” he snapped. “Is that understood?”

    Brotherly advice:
“If you love her, don’t walk away from her, Logan. Promise me you’ll see someone for those nightmares. I can find you a good doctor, not a quack,” he promised. Logan didn’t say anything, and Ben let out a frustrated sigh. He must have decided to pull out the wildcard then, because he set his hands on his knees and said, “If you don’t get help, I’ll tell Mom.”

When purchasing Ms. Eckhart's various bundled series always be sure to plan for uninterrupted reading time before starting.

I will re-re-read this story and always look forward to other works by this author.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story of Julia and Logan. She is a single mother of two twin girls and he is the new town sheriff. Logan was medically discharged from the marines after a roadside bomb ruined his leg. They seem to have an instant attraction to each other. When Julia's daughter goes missing, Logan is the one leading the search. Great story.

This is book #2 in The Wilde Brothers series. Also included is a part too short read.

Logan Wilde, a former Marine, was sent home after his squad was killed by a roadside bomb. He damaged his leg and was in a coma for almost 3 weeks. He was medically discharged afterwards. He lives with PTSD from the explosion. Now he's working as the new Sheriff in small town, Idaho.

His first day out with his deputy for lunch, he meets Julia Cooper in her cafe. But when an older car drives by making a loud noise, Logan's transported back to his days in the Marine and loses himself. He pulls out his gun shooting Julia's coffee machine.

Julia Cooper is a daughter of an Army man. She recognizes PTSD immediately when she sees Logan panicking and sweating. She can commiserate with him. Her father fought in the war and came home a different man. He committed suicide because he didn't trust himself around his family anymore.

So much chemistry surrounds Logan and Julia. But she's afraid of losing herself to it. She has twin daughters, 10 year olds, Dawn and Trinity, that she's raising alone after finding out that her ex-husband cheated on her throughout their whole marriage with his assistant.

When the town's math teacher comes on a bit too strong, Julia rebuffs him. But he can't take no for an answer. So he decides to do the unspeakable to one of her girls to get Julia's attention. Now it's up to Logan to find Trinity before it's too late.

    A must read!

Lorhainne Eckhart is a wonder writer that holds your attention from page one. Her stories just pull you into the lives of those she is writing about. This story has an ex-military man turned sheriff that you can't help fall in love with as does the heroine in the story. Small towns, bad guys, and brothers that are true family are included in this story. A real good read!!
