    OH MY GOD, this album really is superb! I've always liked Michael Bolton, and this album says it all. His remakes of other hit songs gives the original singers a run for their money! He does a superb job on "Lean On Me" and Sexual Healing. Wow, I can't say enough for Michael B.!

    So many of these songs remind me of my 'younger life' (which I am trying to cling to). I downloaded the 1st disc onto my computer but only the first track of the 2nd disc could be downloaded-something about codes? Can I fix this?
    One of the tracks is from Turandot-which I will be ordering. Another is with Bob Dylan!
    I became interested in Michael Bolton because of his short performance as John Bolton on Steven Colbert-our 'news source' in our rural area.

    In the 1980's and 1990's Michael Bolton hit the charts with his hard driving tenor voice, and an entirely new venue: Love ballads. A far cry from his rocker Kiss days....what a transition...although now he was refined and elegantly handsome and with a singular powerful and distinctive tenor voice. He has sold 75 million albums! and his long career continues...so this 32 song double compilation is but a glimpse at his illustrious career. He is a song writer, musician, actor, director...similar to many gifted performers...

    Anyway...every song I recall is on this double "essential" album of his work. With Michael Bolton, however, you have to keep the volume on your audio to medium, otherwise he will give you headaches...he is so powerful. But his love songs are beautiful, and his voice is fabulous, clear and romantic (I think). He is also very very good looking! His work is all over the board, from rock, jazz, cross-over country, easy listening, even opera.

    There are some classic songs, like "Georgia, A whiter shade of Pale" included in this blockbuster album. I actually think the 2nd album is very interesting in that he tries opera (Nessum Dorma) and goes in very directions than his pop hits. Now, before you complain about turning down the volume...Michael is a rocker, and some of his songs need volume...so crank it up, and let the neighbours enjoy the concert too!! Enjoy this great artist that has drifted into the past, for many of us... when his career is still in high gear!
