Dream Theater began their mammoth A Dramatic Tour Of Events world trek in July 2011 with the final leg in South America taking place in August 2012. It was here at the Luna Park arena in Buenos Aires, Argentina that they decided to film the two nights that go to make up this Deluxe Edition release. It was Dream Theater s first tour with new drummer Mike Mangini and all the tracks from their first album together A Dramatic Turn Of Events are included in either the main show or the bonus performances.     I had previously watched Live At Budokan which showcased what an incredibly talent act Dream Theater are, but this shows just how far they've come. Every member of the band is amazing at what they do. After watching the G3 concerts on dvd with Satriani, Vai etc. I always loved Petrucci's clean but precise and lightning fast playing, but this is just another level. All of these guitarists are just absolutely phenomenal!!

    I have come to the conclusion they are by far my favourite band now. There's something about the sincerity in the lyrics, their personas and the mind blowing talent that just gets me every time. I literally sat watching the bluray with a big smile that kept appearing on my face!

    And now to Mr. Mangini...

    Ever since I saw that drum solo on Youtube of him at a Vai gig, I absolutely LOVED him! He is SO good, any musician worth their salt would appreciate what this guy is capable of. When I saw the auditions happening for him to be in Dream Theater, I got so excited! I kept searching for more news all the time and the dream came true!!

    His drum solo on this is even better than the Youtube one. He truly is world class. I would say the best drummer in the world. There are some drum parts that Portnoy would play of their old songs he just wipes the floor with, like it's second nature to him. I could watch it a thousand times and not get bored. Just incredible!! sometimes playing with just one hand.

    All the other members are superb, Rudess is just a powerhouse.

    I don't know why some folks are saying this product isn't what is described as because I received it today and it actually is the product as it is described.

    Just finished watchingDream Theater-Live At Lunapark.its simply magnificent. Probably the best performance since their 25th Anniversary "Score".

    For those complaining about the sound,I found better results in Reverse Stereo. Excellent footage,great and stellar performance. John Petrucci,Jordan Rudess,John Myung and Mike Mangini are perfectionist and James Labrie sounds better than ever as well. A lot of people are saying John Petrucci's guitars are too loud,I disagree. I could hear the drums,vocals,keyboards and guitars properly. There were at times I felt that Jordan is a little low in the mix,only at certain times but that problem was pretty much eradicated when I changed the audio from Stereo to Reverse Stereo. The snare sounds fantastic,I don't know why some folks have said that it sounds flat. I highly recommend this DVD/Blu Ray. I have the deluxe edition and a Blu Ray player so I saw this on Blu Ray.

    Really worth the wait.

    First the positives. The band seemed to be playing better then ever. Virtuoso musicians every one of them. However I still miss Mike Portnoy but appreciate what a difficult role it is for Mike Mangini even though he is a brilliant drummer.
    Song selection was varied and great to see the latest album songs (at the time of the concert) interspersed with some absolute classics. My only beef was that there no songs from Black Clouds Silver Linings album. There was one of the tracks playing in the background of the documentary. I just love that album and wonder if omitting all tracks for inclusion in the concert was a bit of a snub to Mike Portnoy??
    The main negative which has been voiced by many is that the audio when played on 5.1 or 7.1 is thin and has hardly any bass on it. The sub woofer is redundant! Very disappointing. HOWEVER! If you play it in Stereo mode the bass returns and the sound quality is good. I assure you I am not making this up and has been voiced by others. Don't let this put you off from buying. It is a brilliant concert in your own home!! I am going to see D.T. at Wembley on the 14th and hopefully they will play as well as they did in Argentina.

    So this edition comprises of:
    Bluray disc of the concert: - excellent. Picture quality and sound reproduction are superb. Excellently capture the feeling of a DT concert.

    DVD disc of the concert: - Great. especially if you find yourself stuck without a bluray (one of our laptops / parents house etc...)

    DVD disc of extras: - V. Good. In my opinion there is some filler here but not enough to detract from a great disc.

    3 CDs of the concert: - superb audio quality. Went straight onto my old iPod classic.

    Picture booklet: - exceptional. Calling this a booklet is to do it a disservice. The pages are printed both sides with excellent quality full page photographs. These photographs are brilliantly taken and help encapsulate the energy commitment and humour required to be arguably the best group of musicians on the planet.

    Not a bad element to this edition with each piece fulfilling a purpose admirably. All in all an excellent package giving great value for the money.

    What I don't like is the director that didn't professional enough for the whole concert, but
    thought that the venue may not suitable for, but that is Director job to find the better way.
    (please compare with The Clockwork Angel Tour, I like it )

    Especially on the song 'Spirit Carries On' I knew this song is really great feel to fall, but
    it doesn't need that camera most pan the lady crying, hey this is not a sad movie.

    Nah, ... that is not really matter, but all you agree with me,
    DT nowadays performance didn't much concentrate like the past during Mike Portnoy' era.
    But let's see their next chapter, their latest one studio album is a good one.

    Picked this up because it's not available on Spotify - and holy cow what a show. Whoever mixed this is a wizard, everyone sounds fantastic and the musicianship is absolute perfection. Probably one of James LaBrie's best live performances ever, and the solos are just unbelievable. Mike Mangini is a MONSTER on the drums. Definitely needs to be listened to on a great set of studio headphones or sound system to really understand how great this production is.

    いつものドリームシアターらしいカット割り映像も冴えており、
    ブルーレイによる画質の良さと音の素晴らしさに感動します。
    マンジーニがまだ慣れていない雰囲気は感じるものの、
    レベルが高過ぎる部分での話なので、こなれてくるのは時間の問題かと。
    ライブ全般で超人的なテクニックが随所で味わえ、
    特にLost not forgottenのイントロ部分では鳥肌が立つこと必至！

    Premesso che sono amante dei DT da decenni e possiedo tuttti i live (meno uno) e cd originali, li ho visti 4 volte (a luglio sarà la mia quinta volta), devo dire che questo live in bluray è veramente ben fatto sia come suono, come performance della band (raro trovarli non in forma) come contenuti, ecc... e questo che esprimo è il mio modesto punto di vista.
    Una gran novità rappresenta la batteria con il cambio Portnoy/Mangini. Ho letto mille discussioni: "Mangini meglio di Portnoy" - "Portnoy meglio di Mangini"... chi ha ragione? Tutti e nessuno!!! Sono diversi, punto!!! Portnoy ha forse più inventiva e carisma, Mangini è comunque una macchina, velocissimo e tecnico come pochi... come si può dire chi è meglio? Mangini in ogni caso si trova ben inserito nella band riproponendo benissimo l'ex Portnoy ed esegue magnificamente tutte le nuove canzoni mettendoci ovviamente del suo!
    Fare paragoni tra il Live at Luna Park e gli altri live secondo me è impossibile perchè ogni dvd/bluray è una storia a sè, ogununo ha i suoi punti di forza secondo me. Unico live secondo me sottotono è Chaos in Motion, ma solo per via dell'audio veramente mediocre e confuso.
    Per concludere, consiglio veramente questo live a tutti i fans dei mitici Dream Theater! Stay metal, stay prog! ;)

    Otra excelente grabación de Dream Theater. Triple cd, doble dvd y blueray insertos en un libro tamaño folio repleto de magníficas fotos del grupo y su entorno. Como he visto en otros comentarios, los dvd y el blueray deberían haber variado en algo. A pesar de esta pequeñita crítica, el grupo cuida mucho a sus fans y, ciertamente, el precio pagado por el mismo, comparado a lo que se ve por ahí de otros "artistas", es más que adecuado.
