Take Me Down (The Knight Brothers Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 1,046 ratings

Parker Knight was going through the motions… and then he met her.

Parker Knight lived and lost his dream. Now he works for his family’s business, wearing a suit and pretending to be happy. A weekend away to plan a corporate retreat turns into a revelation when he lays eyes on Emily Stevens, the sexy owner of a small inn that’s seen better days. One look at Emily and the run down bed and breakfast and suddenly Parker has a purpose. He turns his short stay into a longer one, intending to act on the intense chemistry and desire that runs hot between them. While there, he plans to give Emily and her father’s inn a much needed infusion of cash and manpower.

Coming off an emotionally abusive marriage, Emily has an immediate bias against suave, city guys … But despite the slick exterior, Emily discovers Parker is sweet, charming and eager to help. And when she caves to their incredible passion, she discovers he makes her feel just as good in bed as out. Yet no matter how hot they burn or how well they mesh, Parker’s time with her has an expiration date. And Emily has an ex who refuses to accept that their relationship is over.

Parker isn’t a man who gives up. Sweet, sexy Emily Stevens is his chance to reclaim his life. He wants to take care of this woman who makes him feel … everything. If only he could figure out how to merge his two lives, everything would be perfect. But when her ex makes his move, Parker realizes what’s important. He only hopes he isn’t too late.

Loved it!
The City boy and the Country girl best describes this story. Carly great story of second chances. Parker and Emily are great characters. They both have a brokeness that neither have grieved and gotten past. Maybe they can fix each other and come back to life doing it? These two are family oriented and strong characters. Carly has to turning pages just to see what happens next. The story is easy to follow and to get both characters point of view. There's a bit of drama to spice things up so to speak for Emily and Parker. Must read! 5 Stars!

Take Me Down is a great addition to the Knight Brothers Series by Carly Phillips.

I think Parker Knight is my favorite Knight so far. I absolutely loved his character. He was the perfect mix of Alpha possessive and man with a soft and loving heart. He had me swooning throughout the whole story.

Take Me Down is the 3rd book in this series and can be read as a standalone. My recommendation would be to read this series in order. I think the family dynamic is better felt and understood if read in order. I also think there could be minor spoilers for the previous books. This story is a chance meeting romance. Two broken souls who happen to just meet. It is told in the third person Dual POV. I really enjoyed this book. It is a fairly quick read, but that could be because I was so engrossed in the characters lives. I had a hard time putting it down.

In this story we follow Parker and Emily’s story. Parker is the middle sibling and works for the family business. he isn’t happy with this, but after a tragic accident, his skiing career was done. His brother sends him to Colorado to check out a resort they can use for a corporate retreat. When Parker gets to Colorado, he isn’t impressed by the resort and starts to travel around to see what he can see. That is until the rental car has trouble he is forced to stay at a run down B&B in a small town. Enter Emily and her dad James. Emily is a small town baker and loves her dad a lot. When Parker and Emily meet the attraction is instant, but Emily is not happy to have another “city boy” enter her life. Can these two see eye to eye and find their HEA? What happens when Emily’s past won’t let her go?? Read this book to find out.

I loved both Emily and Parker. Like I said Parker is my favorite Knight so far. They were both broken from past relationships that didn’t end so well. I loved watching these two grow into themselves. Learning to face their fears. Also they learned how to love and heal through each other.

I enjoyed seeing Sebastian, Ashley, Sierra and even Ethan (oldest sibling) Although I hope Ethan’s attitude changes when it comes time to his book. He rubbed me the wrong way in this story.

If you are a fan of Carly Phillip’s books or the chance meeting romance, then this is a story you don’t want to miss. I would 100% recommend this book/series to all romance readers.

This is the second book in the Knight brothers series. I would highly recommend reading the first book and also the novella, Take the Bride, which is their sister Sierra Knight. That being said our author will give you enough bits and bobs so you understand the goings on without reading the other books but reading them it makes this book so much more "alive" I would say. Okay on with my thoughts on Take Me Down.
This is Parker Knight and Emily Stevens story to be told and what a story it is. Parker is the Knightly brother that is somewhat hidden from view after his Olympic career ended not once but twice due to injuries. I wished we knew more about the second injury. Horrible as it appears to be...what little the author told us left me wanting to know more. There are places I as a reader wanted and needed to know more and that is the only reason i could not give this book 5 stars. I needed more from the ex boyfriend angle as well. I know , I know I am not the writer but as a reader that was simply something that I needed to close out the book in a neat little bow.
Parker and Emily are great as a couple and do work and this book has all the feel goods that a good book needs. This Knight brother walks into the night and steals Emily's heart without her even knowing it LOL... no car it was with the mechanic her date later that week.
I am so looking forward to Ethan's book. Let's hope our author takes him on the ride of his life. He deserves it after Mandy.

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**

I've always been a sucker for Carly Phillips books and Take Me Down was no exception. Honestly, this might have been one of my top five books she's ever written. I absolutely loved Parker and Emily!

Parker Knight is the middle Knight brother, known in his family as Switzerland because most of the time he sits back and is the neutral party. While he seems to be laid back and go with the flow, there are painful things in Parker's past that he hasn't totally dealt with and they are always brimming close to the surface. When his brother Ethan sends him out to Colorado to scout a location for an upcoming corporate retreat, Parker ends up with a broken down car, which leads him to a rundown B&B, The Ruby Rose Inn, in a very tiny town. At the inn he encounters Emily Stevens, the daughter of the owner, who is is attracted to immediately.

Emily returned to her hometown after her marriage fell apart due to a very controlling husband who wanted to change who she is, but also to help care for her ailing mother before her death. While Emily has dreams of her own, her goal at the moment is to convince her father to sell the rundown B&B and move to Florida to be near her sister. While they never turn stranded folks away, when Parker shows up on their doorstep, Emily immediately compares him to her soon-to-be ex, which makes her defensive from the get go.

Parker very quickly finds himself involved in the day-to-day lives of Emily and her father James. Knowing that the inn needs refurbished, Parker offers to loan the money to James in order to keep his and his late wife's dream alive. When Emily learns what he's done, she is torn about her feelings until she realizes that Parker is on the up and up and unlike her ex.

I absolutely adored these characters and the story that unfolded for them. There was emotion, there was depth, there was fear and there was hope. These two people who had been through so much individually were exactly what the other needed in order to make them whole in the end. Kudos to Carly Phillips for an amazing read!

Parker and Emily story was just great love at first sight.

Emily has had it tough and moved back home awaiting on a divorce, when Parker arrives and all the things she says goes out the window.

Parker has never had a relationship since his girlfriend died until he meets Emily and wants to get to know her better.
    Storyline great characters great.

Parker is sent by his brother to look at a place for the company’s retreat. His rental car breaks down and he ends up staying at Emily’s bed and breakfast. From the minute they see each other they’re both attracted to each other, but Emily has been burnt in the past. She’s cautious of men that look and behave like him, so she tries to keep away from him. Emily realises she misjudged him and let’s him in. It’s a lovely story, I’m pleased Parker found someone to make him whole again.
