Amazing band and album.Description states colored vinyl edition. What I received is the standard black vinyl edition and not the colored vinyl release of this album which was misleading on the big A part. If you are wanting the limited edition White vinyl edition this is not what I received.

ATW never disappoints. Their talent & music are highly original/intriguing.

I dig music, and this album just hits in the right spot; it's mellow when it needs to be, brings in the rock when it wants to. Not that their first two albums were bad, but Dying Surfer Meets His Maker feels like All Them Witches have made progress. There is definitely a sense of growth here, it's much more mature. And it's wonderful.

As for the record itself, it spins great. I love the artwork, which I believe is done by the drummer. Check me on that if you want to. I love the white vinyl. Great contrast from the black norm. This is an album that deserves to stick out, and it does.

I'm not one to make lists, but if I had to pick a number one anything for this year, this record is it.

Cool album cover. Cool album name. Cool band name. Great band. Groovy music. What else could you want?

All Them Witches have caught me completely off guard, i was introduced to them by Kyle Shutt of the Sword and have dove head first into their catalogue. This album is a slow burning non stop machine that brings some ear worm beats that will get stuck in your head and alter your day for the better. My personal favorite track so far is El Centro, not sure if it is because I was once stationed in El Centro (not a great place to be) or just because it has this amazing trance like ability to suck you out of the real world.

    Enjoy!

These guys are an album band. I have all their stuff now. Nothing weak. This is a journey. Moody and rockin. Great band. Hard to sample em on you tube or listening to one song. Listen to a whole record then judge. Love this band. Got into em cause New West records advertised on Facebook. I love Buddy and Julie Miller so, tried it. So f in good. Heavy but not formulaic or cliched to me. Just love their sound. Check em out

This third full album by ATW continues where they left off on their second album. Like the 2nd album there are GREAT songs on here as well with only slight lapses in quality from Lightning at the Door. Somewhat unfortunately it comes in early on this album with the jam/instrumental El Centro which to me sounds like it was probably a great live jam that if you were watching them play it during a set you'd be head banging along enthusiastically. And really for what it is it is quite impressive, but for me the main riff of the improv just seems like they could have come up with something more exciting to base the piece off of. It is similar to some of the jams they have released on EPs, and their ability to fully explore the possibilities of it as a vehicle for improvisation is impressive. Still, it is a long stretch of a jam to put as the second song on an album and my own thought is they maybe had some better ideas and better jams that they could have included.

My only other small quibble is the production of the following song, Dirt Preachers. Song-wise I think it is well written and I love the final half time jam which ends it. But the production, at least during the song part, leaves a bit to be desired with the distortion of the guitar and bass killing off a lot of the clarity of the drums and making them hard to make out under the wall of murk. Once the half time jam starts though the sound improves. But really, I am being picky. All the songs are great, many combining their now trademark "spoken word" verses with heavy grooves, in particular the final song with it's "When the Levee Breaks" feel. So to conclude, this album is right up their with their previous album and 100% recommended just as highly. If you liked their first 2 albums you WILL love this. And really truth be told it probably deserves 4 1/2 stars with there being to me just two small dips in quality from the first. All in all highly recommended!

OK, you're only here if you've already heard of these guys. My first listen was to the previous album, Lightning At The Door. There's a strange bend with these guys - a little psych, a little southern rock, a little of everything. In other words, kind of hard to pin down.

Dying Surfer starts out with a bit of a lament and then lets go. There are quiet instrumental tracks, hard rockers, jams, you call it.

El Centro is a pure rocker, Talisman is a slow build that flows into the set closer Blood and Sand - killer.

I had tickets to see them in San Francisco and got rained (deluged!)out - had a 90 minute drive in dry weather. Been kicking myself ever since.

This is one of the finest albums of 2015. I seriously cannot stop listening to it.

Dying Surfer Meets His Maker is without question All Them Witches finest creation to date. Back in Baltimore I didn't even like this band, no matter how much they were willing to bribe me. I took the money, you know that, but would I get them in front of the president?...no chance. Now however, looking back on my long and infamous career I have realized how wrong I was. Not for being another scumbag, nope that comes with the job, but for not realizing that these guys have put something together that rock and roll needs.

Knew nothing of this band before "Dying Surfer", but they've quickly become one of my favorites. I've probably listened to this disc 30+ times so far and I've not tired of it yet. If you like this, check out "Lightning At The Door" and the live release "At The Garage" on Bandcamp as well.

My other big discovery this year was Chelsea Wolfe, but as much as I like "Abyss", this one wins out. In my opinion, this also beats out this year's releases from Foals, Silversun Pickups, The Decemberists, Metric, and Florence. Buy it now.

Sbagliata la descrizione del prodotto, doveva essere un vinile colorato, invece è nero classico. Per me non fa differenza, ma un po’ più di accuratezza sarebbe preferibile.
