About the author

The third of four children and an introvert from the start, Jason Tesar grew up as an imaginative “middle child” who enjoyed the make-believe world as much as the real one, possibly more. From adolescence to adulthood, his imagination fed itself on a diet of books, movies, and art, all the while growing and maturing—waiting for its opportunity.
In late 1998, Jason made his first attempt at writing, managing to complete a whole scene before returning once again to reality. A year and a half later, a spontaneous nighttime conversation with his wife encouraged him to take his writing seriously and to keep on dreaming. Over the next seven years, Jason carved time out of the real world to live in an imaginary one of epic fantasy and science-fiction. The fruits of this labor would later become the first three books of the Amazon bestselling AWAKENED series.
Due to the incredible support of readers from around the world, Jason continued his trajectory into make-believe, jumping from stable employment in the microelectronics industry into the mysterious abyss of full-time writing. Living in Colorado with his beautiful wife and two children, he fused the best parts of his favorite genres into stories of internal struggle and triumph, friendship and betrayal, political alliances, and military conflict.
Eleven novels and one short story later, Jason’s imagination is just getting started. But the challenges and responsibilities of the real-world are gaining strength, trying to pull him back.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2016I Struggle to put into words the magnitude of how thrilling this novel is. After reading Consensus: Part 1 - Citizen, it would have been an understatement to say I was eager to continue the series. Even as great as the first part was, this one certainly lives up to the expectations and even surpassed them with a very intriguing story filled with suspense and twists.
Jason brings to life the futuristic civilization centered around Esh and even takes the time to explain much of the technology without making it sound like you're reading a manual. To me the novel echos so much of what goes on in society today that my hair stood on end while reading this captivating tale. I can't wait to see how Rena develops along with one of my quickly rising favorites, Dal. Another well though out character in this series is Lukas, he's one of those characters that you never really know what to think of him and could still quite possibly be a key wildcard later in the story.
The final twist at the end of this novel leaves me wanting more. I'd say the wait is the hardest part, but it's something that I wouldn't want rushed. A masterful story takes time and I know in the end when the next installment is released it will have been well worth the wait. Again, no amount of words of praise could possibly do justice to how magnificent this story is, and is becoming.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 21, 2016I hate writing reviews mainly because I never want to give spoilers to the book, but Tesar's work makes for one of my few exceptions. To say that this novel was gripping, thoroughly enjoyable, and a brilliant example of plot, pacing and characterisation would be understatements. I powered through this book and, like every other bibliophile, felt elation and sadness, because I had finished the book. If you love good sci-fi, well written and thoughtful stories, and especially if you're a fan of Jason Tesar, you NEED to read Consensus books 1 and 2, and he needs to complete book 3! :)

- Reviewed in the United States on March 3, 2016In short, the book felt real, it was like I was there with the characters. Rena, Lukas and Dal all had to face the real life questions that we do, I thoroughly enjoyed living out their struggles with them and relating to the different struggles they each faced. Jason does a great job of addressing the philosophical question of what determines truth, the conversations about it in the book were easy to read and understand; as well as being real answers that real people struggle with. If you are looking for something thrilling, thought provoking and that will leave you wanting more yet being content; this is the book for you!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2016More great writing from Jason Tesar. The story is developing in a very interesting way and I am sad only in have to wait months for the next book to see where it goes! No spoilers, once you read the book you will see what I mean but it is scary how the real world is becoming like the core concept of Consensus...
- Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2016Jason Tesar has a uncanny knack for making you want more. It was a very good read and now I want to know what happens next. It was a frustrating cliffhanger. I want to know when Consensus: Part 3 is coming out.

Great book for teens. I think it can improve once they get out of Esh. I would recommend for teens. Cronin is a fabulous author and his previous books for adults are fantastic. Gbash

5.0 out of 5 stars Exciting build up
More information about Rena and her past. Good build up of tension. Why is Esh control so determined to keep secrets from the citizens?
