Celebrity Hell House Kindle Edition

3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars 25 ratings

Peter Kane was famous, once upon a time. An award-winning author (with the certificates to prove it), and yet things aren’t going great.

When an offer comes in to star in a new reality TV show, he finds it hard to refuse, and so finds himself in the line-up alongside a former Playboy Bunny, R2D2’s stunt-double, a heavyweight boxer with the worst record on, erm, record, an eccentric fashion designer, a handsome reality-show star, and an Olympian swimmer. The goal? Survive Hell House – the location of a brutal triple murder-suicide decades earlier. The prize? £250000.

Sometimes, a quarter of a million just isn’t enough…

This is truly awful, I persevered with it hoping it would get better, sadly it didn't and I gave up. Think if you like crude humor you may like this otherwise don't bother, also didn't find it funny or scary just in bad taste

*UPDATE*! First read this book in 2017. It’s now Sept 2024. Whenever I feel a bit down and miserable I re-read this book. It always cheers me up and still to this day makes me laugh. I read at least 7 books a week of all genres & I’ve never came across anything funnier. END OF UPDATE

I laughed out loud constantly reading this.
It's so funny that i thought I was having a coronary on more than one occasion.
Such a perfect parody of British reality shows.

Note to Mr Millard: If I ever win big on the Euro, we can make a film of this.

A MUST READ FOR EVERYONE WITH A SENSE OF HUMOUR

4.0 out of 5 stars Hell House entertaining, funny book

I didn’t expect to like this book so much. It sounded a little corny, and it was corny, but in a good, laugh till your stomach hurts kind of corny.

Six “Z-list celebrities” are recruited to participate in a haunted
house reality show. If they survive they’ll fill their pockets with prize money. Author Peter Kane tries to hold his fellow contestants together but things quickly spin out of control. I highly recommend this book.

What a a great idea! I wish I had thought of it. But I didn't and here is the wonderful results. This story is scary and creepy - but hilarious as well. I loved the characters and the story had quite a few twists and turns. You are going to love this one!

Super fun read. Great mash-up of TV celebrity culture and haunted house tropes, written with great timing and tongue firmly planted in cheek.
